NRL Round 24 teams and SuperCoach Q&A: Will you be ditching Drinkwater?
I'm a bit under the weather and so as a treat to you and me both I'll be keeping the Buy/Sell analysis brief and instead put the work into the Q&A (as always, hit me up via the comments section at the bottom of the article and we can talk trades, team line-ups, captaincy options (and for Dave I can deny his plea to make the bye team visible on SC landing page).
Scott Drinkwater: Has fallen away of late. Reportedly dealing with a groin injury, has lost the goalkicking and the Cowboys attack spluttering. The Cows have a round 27 bye too so if you have the trade spare I'd be selling. If you don't (like me) then you'll have to hope that a home match against the Knights then away against the Tigers can see some half decent scores over the next fortnight. I'm not so sure, and if injuries/suspensions elsewhere in my squad allow I'm tempted to make Drinky a NPR. SELL.
Cameron Munster: With no Jahrome Hughes to overcall him it's the Cam Munster show at the Storm for the remainder of the regular season. Scored 92 against the Broncos last week - though that was a Brisbane outfit with three of their key backline players riding the pine after tearing their hamstrings. The Panthers then Bulldogs over the next fortnight will prove a stiffer test of Munster's worth. Still a BUY, but I'm expecting scores in the 60-70 range against those two teams not 80+.
Harry Grant: Taking a more dominant role in attack with Hughes out is a win, though it does mean less tackless Melbourne look to hide Grant a little on the defensive side when they know they need more from him in attack. As per Munster above, I expect the next fortnight to be tougher scoring for the Storm spine - but still have Grant as a BUY.
Sam Walker: Looking to ditch Drinky and have a spot at flex to fill? Sam Walker could be your guy. After returns of 50 and 66 in his first fortnight back following his 2024 ACL injury, Walker has punched out scores of 80 (Storm), 93 (Manly) and 119 (Dolphins). The little maestro is calling all the shots at the Roosters and while the remaining draw is mixed (Dogs, Eels, Storm, Souths) he's shown he can score against anyone. BUY.
Beau Fermor: Last week I suggested that Fermor may be the safest CTW option around for those looking for a Herbie Farnworth replacement and he duly delivered 78 points (50 in base, plus a try/LB). The Gold Coast have arguably the most productive draw remaining for any team (Sharks/Warriors/Dolphins/Tigers) and it would not shock if Fermor manages to score in at least two of those match-ups. BUY.
Mark Nawaqanitawase: After a very quiet four weeks Marky Mark bounced back with a hat-trick against the Dolphins last round. The Dogs this week, and Storm in round 26 are not games I'd expect him to go large in. But the Eels in round 25 and Souths in round 27 look juicy. A BUY, but the guy above (safer) and below (due) are preferred.
Brian To'o: Is Bizza back? Seemingly banged up and carrying leg niggles all season, To'o made 17 runs and busted nine tackles (and three linebreaks plus a try) as a ruthless Panthers dominated the Knights. The Storm this week will be tougher. The Raiders then Dogs the fortnight after no easier. But no team is hotter than the Panthers at the moment. And if To'o is fit and healthy then he's a steal at $517K. Under 12% ownership makes him a useful H2H POD too. BUY.

Meg Lanning in the leading run-scorer in The Hundred two years after international retirement
Australian star Annabel Sutherland has soared to be the No.1 T20 bowler in the world, but an Aussie who doesn't play international cricket is dominating the short format in England. Former captain Meg Lanning is the highest run-scorer in The Hundred after another blistering effort. At 33, and having played her last match for her country in 2023 before a premature retirement that shocked the cricket and sporting world, Lanning continues to show herself to be a batting force. Playing for the Oval Invincibles, Lanning's latest effort was part of a powerhouse opening partnership that racked up 54 runs off 25 balls, the best powerplay score in the five-year history of the competition. Lanning smashed six fours in her 19-ball innings of 36 that took her haul in the tournament to 177 runs in just three innings, 20 ahead of big-hitting Aussie Grace Harris, who still plays for Australia. Since her retirement from the international game, Lanning has continued to plunder runs for Victoria as well as dominate the Indian Premier League, where she's the third highest run-scorer in the tournament's history. All those runs have come against international-calibre bowlers, making it clear she would still be a batting force for Australia. Lanning's retirement sparked a regeneration of the Australian team, and superstar all-rounder Sutherland has been a major beneficiary. The 23-year-old has netted centuries at Test and ODI level and continues to star with the ball. Sutherland has also been a beneficiary of a quirk of the International Cricket Council's rankings system, being elevated to the No.1 T20 bowling ranking despite not playing an international T20 since she took a four-wicket haul against New Zealand in March. But her rating of 736 remains unchanged, as a group of bowlers near the top of the rankings lost points across the last week.

Reason why AFL WAG Paris Tier lost her sales job
The girlfriend of a professional athlete has revealed how she lost her job due to her rising profile on social media. Paris Tier, who is dating Greater Western Sydney Giants player Conor Stone, divulged on her WAG — Women and Goals podcast that her social media profile led to her being fired from her job. Ms Tier was working in sales merchandising, and part of her role led to her being contracted out at another businesses. At the time, she didn't have a lot of followers but her posts about what her life was like dating a professional athlete started to boost her profile. 'I started posting on TikTok a month into working this job, and I only had 2000 followers but my videos were averaging 30,000 views,' she told Ms Tier said she wasn't posting about her job, but about her relationship with Stone. She said it started off with mean comments, but things escalated when she posted a clip about an NRL player. After backlash, she deleted the video. 'I got a call from a colleague and she said, '[Our boss] has called me saying you can't work tomorrow because somebody has complained about your TikTok',' Ms Tier said. The AFL WAG was told the complaint was made not to her direct company, but the one that she was contracted to as part of her role. She asked the company's media and human resources if there were any issues with her social media, but neither department had any issues with the content. At the time, Ms Tier had annual leave planned due to a medical procedure so she went on two weeks worth of leave. 'I took the two weeks off because I needed this to calm down before I go back to work, because obviously not everyone loves social media, and if your boss read something that you did online they have to believe it in a way,' she said. 'I was a little bit disappointed because when I messaged [my boss] about it, she said it was nothing. She essentially lied to me.' During her time off, Ms Tier consulted an employment lawyer, received a probation update about why she 'wasn't the right fit for the role' and ultimately decided to leave the job. To this day, she has no idea where the complaint originated from or if it was even real. 'When this happened at work, I was in the state of mind of, 'Have I lost every opportunity to get a good job? Have I lost every opportunity to do a thing I love',' she recalled. 'And no, I haven't.' Ms Tier revealed she works in a completely new industry now, and really loves it, finding the workplace incredibly supportive. She said that contracts needed to highlight what issues they may have in regards to employee's social media presence, particularly as she never talked about the company online — barring the fact that it was on her LinkedIn profile. She said she hasn't added her latest workplace to her profile as she is scared it could happen again. Ms Tier added that there is a belief that many people in her position are unemployed. 'I don't think people realise, they see someone and think, 'Oh my god she's a stay-at-home mum, bet she doesn't have half a brain cell',' she said. 'That woman is 90 per cent of the time on maternity leave, or young enough to still be figuring out their life.' She said baseless assumptions about WAGs are 'not fair' and simply incorrect. 'People have assumptions because we don't post our work, but how can people post their work when individuals do something like this,' she said. 'It's not fair.'

Christian Petracca slammed as damning act exposed during loss to Western Bulldogs
Demons superstar Christian Petracca has been slammed for his poor body language as rumours swirl that he is plotting an exit. Just five days after Melbourne axed premiership coach Simon Goodwin, the Demons fell by six points to the Western Bulldogs. It was an incredible effort given the tumultuous time at the club, but concerning vision of club leader Petracca exposed a damning truth. On two separate occasions, the midfielder was seen flapping his arms about after not receiving the ball and even looked genuinely disappointed when he was overlooked for another option that worked out. It led to AFL great Luke Hodge launching a scathing attack on the Demons star on Tuesday night, stating Petracca has made it clear that he is more concerned with his own stats than what is best for the team. 'You've got Christian Petracca here letting him (Langford) know … he's put the arms up, he hasn't followed in. But the worst part is what comes after,' the three-time premiership skipper said on Channel 7's The Agenda Setters. 'That results in a goal. Yes, he is bypassed, lets him know, lets everyone know. But where's the reaction? Do you go to the young kid and say, 'Hey, good kick to the top of the goalsquare?' 'Do you go down to Kozzy Pickett, pat him on the back, or do you walk around? He's not going to anyone, he hasn't clapped, hasn't looked across at Langford, who didn't pass it to him, didn't say anything, (he just) turned around. 'That's a person who's worried about his own stats. So if you're looking as a coach coming into this Melbourne football club, the first thing I'll be doing is getting to the leaders and saying play like leaders, react like leaders, and support your younger teammates.' On another occasion, Petracca gave his teammates a gobfull after being closely marked inside the forward 50. After not receiving the ball, Petracca threw his head back and looked genuinely furious. His body language has only fuelled speculation that he is searching for an exit as a rift in the playing group following the sacking of Goodwin becomes clear. The 2021 Norm Smith Medallist appears to be on the lookout for a new club, with several potential destinations emerging for the star midfielder. Hawthorn appears to be the obvious new home for Petracca if he wants the exit bad enough. The Hawks desperately need another goalkicking midfielder, and their attempts to poach Harley Reid out of West Coast are expected to fall short. While Melbourne needs a key forward desperately, and the Hawks have no shortage of them, making a swap deal very feasible. Hawthorn has Mabior Chol, Mitch Lewis, Calsher Dear and Jack Gunston all fighting for three places, and it would make sense for one to give way, especially if it results in them snaring Petracca. Collingwood and Carlton, who both voiced interest in Petracca at the end of last season, also could provide the 29-year-old with an exit plan. But Hodge says, regardless of whether or not he is there next year, Petracca needs to fix his attitude. 'Maybe he may not be there (next year). (But) Wherever he goes, his body language needs to get better,' Hodge continued. 'It's not all about him. It's about the team and how the team is moving forward.' However, it isn't just Petracca who could be itching to leave following Goodwin's exit. Speculation about the playing futures of Bayley Fritsch and Judd McVee is still rife, and they may try to follow Petracca out the door. While the future of captain Max Gawn is also up in the air, with the veteran big seeing Goodwin as a father figure, and he is understood to be furious with the club's decision to sack him. In the meantime, the Demons will face the Hawks on Saturday afternoon, in a clash sure to provide plenty of fireworks.
