Teacher 'victim of vigilante pedophile hunters'
A NSW magistrate heard on Wednesday how a vigilante gang had entered the home of former Central Coast Grammar junior school teacher David Beeby, and bashed and robbed him.
Defence lawyer Brian Walker told Gosford Local Court that Beeby was knocked to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked in "quite a vicious assault".
Beeby, 39, has pleaded not guilty to attempting to procure a child aged between 14 and 16 for unlawful sex at Terrigal in January 2024.
The police case against Beeby, who has since left Central Coast Grammar, was that he was at his Terrigal home on January 24 last year when he made contact with a person calling themselves Jeremy on the Grindr app between 11.30pm and 12.30am.
Beeby was allegedly using the tag name Tezzz when he started texting Jeremy.
Police claimed Jeremy asked: "Is 15 too young? Lol. I've done this before. It's just hard to find anyone".
Jeremy later allegedly texted: "I'm 15, I've done this before. I won't tell anyone".
Beeby allegedly replied that he had no problems with that.
Detective Senior Constable Miranda Faith told the court the former teacher had gone to police after being bashed and robbed at his home.
Det Faith said police were aware of claims Beeby had been trying to arrange to have sex with a 15-year-old boy and seized his mobile phone.
The phone was examined and found to have multiple Grindr chats between Beeby and others.
The Grindr app legal unit downloaded the alleged chats between Beeby and Jeremy, and provided them to police.
Det Faith said Beeby gave a statement where he claimed he believed Jeremy was 17, not 15.
She said the Grindr app chats allegedly indicated Jeremy was 15.
A person can still be charged with attempting to procure a child for sex even if that child is fictitious.
Beeby was allegedly attacked and robbed after leaving the gate open at his Terrigal complex for Jeremy.
Beeby's defence lawyer told the court the police case involved a lot of hearsay, with the people involved in attacking Beeby refusing to say who had been posing as Jeremy.
Mr Walker said the case was similar to one in the Tasmanian Supreme Court in 2019 where the chief justice found the accused, facing a similar charge to Beeby, had been the victim of entrapment by the witness.
The judge said the witness, from NSW, had described himself as a "pedophile hunter" who made contact with the accused on Grindr pretending to be a 14-year-old boy.
The witness videoed a later meeting with the accused and posted the recording on YouTube, claiming the accused was a pedophile.
Refusing to allow the witness's evidence, the Tasmanian judge said the witness had incited the crime through entrapment which put the accused at risk of violence from others.

The video shows deputies handcuffing him and escorting him to a vehicle, at which point the handcuffs are removed from his wrists. DDG said on YouTube that deputies refused to respond when he asked them why he was being detained. A member of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department staff told People they had no knowledge of the incident and that any information would need to come from the Santa Clarita station. Multiple calls to that station went unanswered as did emails requesting information. DDG titled his live broadcast after the alleged swatting: "I ALMOST D*ED TODAY." He described the moment deputies allegedly circled him with their cars, saying: "Ain't no what's up, ain't no nothing! Ain't no dude, we got a call. Nothing," DDG recounted. Instead, he alleged deputies immediately instructed him to get his hands in the air. DDG went on to say that he was in an altered state at the time, which made things even more intense, "And y'all know i just got done smoking. I just got done smoking. So, you got to think what's going through my mental, bro," DDG said. "I literally just got done getting high. I'm fried. So, I'm thinking to myself this whole time like, 'is this real?'"Deputies eventually released DDG, who said that he believes he was the victim of a swatting incident. Authorities have not confirmed what prompted deputies to rush to the site and detain DDG. DDG is facing no charges and did not say in his YouTube video if he had any notion who might be behind the swatting. In May 2025, his ex Halle Bailey, with whom he has a child, was granted a restraining order after alleging in court filings that the rapper was abusive. On the show, Farfour was replaced by a bloodthirsty bumblebee with a squeaky voice named Nahoul, who preached to the kiddos: 'We will liberate Al-Aqsa from the filth of the criminal Jews,' referring to the fictional town where the characters lived, and 'revenge upon the enemies of God, the murderers of the prophets.' In season two, Nahoul gets sick. The Israeli authorities won't issue him a travel permit to receive medical treatment in Egypt and he dies. Nahoul is replaced by his rabbit brother, Assoud, a mangy Bugs Bunny knockoff, who tells the tykes at home in one episode: 'A rabbit is a term for a bad person and coward. And I, Assoud, will finish off the Jews and eat them.' In another episode Assoud is tempted by Satan to steal money from his father and sentenced to have his hand cut off, 'as the Prophet Mohammed commanded.' Assoud later dies in an Israeli strike and is replaced by a bear. 15 In one episode, Palestinian children joined in for a sing along in-studio welcoming their own death. 'This kind of layered trauma that you're deliberately exposing young Palestinian children to was not just a form of child abuse, but a long-term manipulation,' Bloom says. 'It relates to October 7th. While little information is publicly known about the estimated 3,000 Hamas fighters who conducted the Oct. 7 slaughter, ages 16-35 are considered 'fighting age' for men—meaning many of those combatants grew up watching their favorite plushy woodland creatures get executed by Jews on afterschool television. 'It's not just the 'Pioneers' TV show. It was amplified and reinforced by the textbooks that the children would read in school that demonized Jews and basically referred to Jews as apes and pigs and other dirty animals,' Bloom says. A 2008 analysis of Palestinian schoolbooks found a passage comparing Jews to 'invading snakes.' In popular media, a late 1990s Palestinian magazine article explained that Jews are the actual sons of apes and, due to the shame felt by this, the 'Jewish ape Darwin' invented the theory of evolution and applied it to all humans. Bloom, who has studied genocide, extremist movements, and child soldiers across the world, says it reminds her of the Taliban and ISIS—both of whom held public beheadings and required children of the community to attend. 'It's not exactly the same because killing Farfour was fake. But it's this idea of exposing children to obscene levels of violence. And it creates a preparedness to justify violence and to choose violence over other options.'

Mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani and his lefty allies are hitting below the belt by trying to tie rival Andrew Cuomo to dead sex predator Jeffrey Epstein without evidence, critics contend. The Epstein smear against Cuomo simmered behind-the-scenes for weeks, but erupted into ugly public view Tuesday when Mamdani released a campaign video mentioning both in the same breath. 'That's the thing about Andrew Cuomo: once you think you've found out about all of his scandals, you find out about another,' Mamdani ominously charged in the 90-second video, calling for the former governor to release his 'client list.' Mamdani isn't alone among New York City progressives attacking Cuomo and other, more-moderate Democrats by invoking Epstein — who remains the subject of national interest more than half a decade after his death. Councilman Chi Ossé (D-Brooklyn) posted on social media this week that Cuomo appears in Epstein's infamous contact list. 3 Mayoral contender Zohran Mamdani is under fire for insinuating his rival Andrew Cuomo has a connection with Jeffrey Epstein. Cuomo wasn't the only moderate Dem to recently faced a scurrilous jibe from a progressive linking them to Epstein. City Comptroller Brad Lander, a Mamdani ally, drew fire last month for joking that Mayor Eric Adams is in the so-called 'Epstein files,' despite there being no hint that Hizzoner has even a tenuous tie to the convicted sex offender. 'They complain about Donald Trump making statements without merit. Mamdani is winning the award for it. It's hypocritical for Mamdani and progressives to do that, to use innuendos,' Seddio seethed. Mamdani's ad came after Cuomo spent days hammering him over his $2,300-a-month rent-stabilized apartment. The video kicks off by recapping the sexual harassment accusations — which Cuomo vehemently denies — that led the former governor to resign, before dredging up still-unanswered questions about his recent, seemingly lucrative consulting work. The work included a luxury marina project with longtime Cuomo pal Andrew Farkas, who — as Mamdani dramatically emphasizes in the video — did similar projects with Epstein. Epstein was found hanged in a Manhattan federal jail cell in 2019, while Cuomo resigned as governor in 2021. Cuomo began the consulting work related to the 'list' Mamdani wants in 2022, the ex-governor's camp said. The guilt-by-association insinuation by Mamdani contrasted wildly with his otherwise-sunny laser focus on affordability that catapulted him from socialist dark horse candidate to a stunning victory over Cuomo in the June Democratic mayoral primary. 'You don't have to contrive anything to go after Cuomo. Just bring up his record,' said John Kaehny, executive director of the government watchdog group Reinvent Albany, noting he was surprised that Mamdani slimed Cuomo with Epstein. 'Why mess with success?' Kaeny said. 'The Cuomo-Epstein attack is not consistent with the hope and future message that Mamdani successfully pushed during the primary. I don't think it's the best frame for him.' Cuomo's name does appear in Epstein's infamous so-called 'Little Black Book,' a sprawling contact list compiled by the sex pest that includes Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, Donald Trump and a slew of other business moguls, celebrities, intellectuals and politicians. 3 Cuomo has faced allegations he has vague ties to both Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The former governor shares the entry 'Kennedy Cuomo,' referring to his ex-wife Kerry Kennedy. Cuomo's pal Andrew Farkas – the linchpin of Mamdani's recent innuendos – also appears in the book. But for all the insinuations – and legitimate questions about Cuomo's unrelated consulting work – there appears no direct evidence that the ex-gov was friends with Epstein. Farkas hit back at Mamdani's claims as 'inaccurate. Innuendo' and a 'dirty move intended to create noise.' 'This has been closely examined and determined to be much ado about nothing,' he told The Post Wednesday. Still, the implication that Cuomo has ties to Epstein's sordid world appears to have struck a nerve. Cuomo has hidden replies on his X account alleging that Ghislaine Maxwell – Epstein's accused accomplice and a convicted sex trafficker – attended his wedding to Kennedy in 1990. One of Prince Andrew's distant cousins – Christina Oxenberg – made the accusation in a 2021 tell-all about Maxwell. Cuomo's camp at the time said the former governor had no recollection of Maxwell attending his wedding. A Mamdani campaign source insisted the Epstein video had been in the works for awhile and was not a response to the apartment brouhaha. Ross Wallenstein, a Democratic operative with Wall to Wall Communications, said Mamdani has nothing to lose. 'Mamdani obviously thinks this line of attack against Gov. Cuomo is effective,' he said. 'And it may very well be. If not, it's still only August. He can drop it tomorrow and try something else. 'Cuomo's approval is underwater. Attacking him doesn't hurt.' Cuomo spokesman Richard Azzopardi said '1,000 percent' that Mamdani unleashed the Epstein smear because he was rattled by the ex-governor landing a blow on his apartment. 'The whole thing is BS,' Azzopardi said. 'It shows that Mamdani has a glass jaw. The moment Mandami is criticized for his wealth, privilege and abuse of the rent stabilization program, he freaks out and throws spaghetti against the well. Do people want a mayor like that?' Cuomo, the son of former governor Mario Cuomo who lives in an $8,200-a-month luxury apartment, has long faced accusations that he's a thin-skinned bully.
