Shocking footage emerges of 'drunk' UFC star Jon Jones allegedly making 'threats' to cop

Daily Mail5 hours ago

Police body cam footage appears to show Jon Jones allegedly threatening cops in the aftermath of a car 'wreck' that has landed the UFC legend in fresh legal trouble.
Less than 24 hours after Jones confirmed his retirement, it emerged that the 37-year-old is facing a misdemeanor charge for fleeing the scene of an accident.
The crash occurred in Albuquerque, New Mexico in February and now video footage has emerged of police interviewing a woman about the incident.
The woman in the clip claims Jones was the driver of the car and that he had run away from the scene.
The woman then hands over her phone, claiming that the UFC legend is on the other end of the line.
The man then appears to make a series of disturbing comments to the officer, he said: 'My brothers, they kill people for way less. They slit throats, they're the most evil people you'll ever meet... guess what? You won't be the first guy this year [inaudible]... you'll be the second one.'
The cop asks if he is speaking to Jones but the man refuses to reveal his identity. He then tells a fellow officer: 'I just got threatened over the phone... he said: "I know some people that can hurt you."'
A police service aide (PSA) said that the unidentified man 'appeared to be heavily intoxicated and made statements implying his capacity to employ lethal force through third parties.'
The cop appears to say it 'sounded just exactly like' Jones and that the woman 'confirmed' his identity.
Later on in the footage, another phone call can be heard, with the man appearing to claim that the government listens to phone calls.
The woman shouted at the man on the phone: 'Dude, I don't know what the f*** you're talking about, my car is wrecked!'
A criminal summons against the UFC star was filed in Albuquerque Metropolitan Court on Tuesday. Jones has been called to appear in court on July 24 for a bond arraignment.
However, on Monday an attorney for Jones accused Albuquerque, New Mexico police of improperly charging his client.
Speaking to TMZ, attorney Christopher Dodd said: 'It is truly unbelievable that the police would waste this amount of resources on such a case.
'The only thing I can think of is that the police were targeting Jon for improper purposes. We will get to the bottom of it and make sure that this baseless case is dismissed.'
Dodd continued: 'In the thousands of cases I have handled in my career, I have never seen a case as strange and unwarranted as this one.'
According to a police report, obtained by DailyMail.com, an officer was investigating the accident when they discovered a woman in the passenger seat of one of the vehicles.
She was reportedly 'exhibiting signs of significant intoxication and lacking clothing from the waist down.'
The woman told police that she had arrived at Jones' house at around 11:30pm on February 20. She admitted that she drank alcohol and consumed mushrooms at the property.
The woman claimed to recall needing to change her clothes after a 'restroom incident' and removed her pants with the intention of having Jones drive her home to collect a change of attire.
However, her memory was hazy as she claimed that 'her next recollection was being at the scene of a traffic accident' and that the last person she remembered driving the car was Jones.
Jones is said to have called the woman's phone a total of 13 times from around the time of the accident to the following morning.
However the UFC legend was later interviewed in person, during which he allegedly claimed that the woman had left his home intoxicated earlier in the day.
He said that she had called him after getting into the crash, and he claimed the person she handed the phone to 'immediately opened the conversations with unprofessional language, which led him to doubt the legitimacy of the individual's claim.'
His attorney continued: 'Jon was not driving that night; he wasn't in the car.
'It appears that an intoxicated woman used a false allegation against Jon to avoid being arrested for DWI, and the police fell for it.
'Based on the criminal complaint, it looks like they went so far as to seek a warrant for Jon's cell phone records while conducting a misdemeanor traffic investigation. I have never heard of such a thing.
'It is truly unbelievable that the police would waste this amount of resources on such a case. The only thing I can think of is that the police were targeting Jon for improper purposes. We will get to the bottom of it and make sure that this baseless case is dismissed.'

Cops DOUBLE reward for info on murdered Brit Peter Falconio as dying ‘Outback Killer' prepares to take secrets to grave

POLICE have doubled the reward for information leading to the body of Brit backpacker Peter Falconio, who was murdered in the Australian outback nearly 24 years ago. Cops have increased their efforts to locate the tourist's remains which have never been found - with his notorious killer now wheelchair-bound and "just about dead". 6 6 6 The corpse of the 28-year-old tourist who was shot dead by motor mechanic Bradley Murdoch have never been located - and the killer is preparing to take his secrets to the grave. Northern Territory police announced today they have increased the reward for any information which could help to find Falconio's body. It comes just before the 24th anniversary of the tragic Brit's death, who died on July 14, 2001. The reward cash was initially set at $250,000 Australian dollars (£120,000 pounds) but has now skyrocketed up to $500,000 Australian dollars (£240,000 pounds). Cops said the major increase was because they are still "holding out hope" that vital information will help them uncover more answers. Acting Commander Mark Grieve said: "We recognise the passage of time that's transpired, however it's never too late to reach out and start that conversation with police. "There's still people out there who may hold some information. "This has been a protracted and long investigation in regards to trying to find Peter's remains and now is just the right time we feel to present this reward on offer." Falconio, 28, from Hepworth in Yorkshire, was travelling with his British girlfriend, Joanne Lees, from Huddersfield, when they were attacked near Barrow Creek, in Australia 's Northern Territory. Ms Lees managed to escape after hiding in the bush for nearly five hours until two passing lorry drivers rescued her. New clue in search for Peter Falconio's body Murdoch, now 67, who has always protested his innocence was later jailed for life with a non-parole period of 28 years. Despite repeated searches, Falconio's body has never been found. Prosecutors have argued that Murdoch had likely disposed of the backpacker in the vast swaths of desert between Alice Springs and Broome. Fears are now mounting that Falconio's loved ones will never know where his body was left due to Murdoch being on the verge of death. He was diagnosed with terminal throat cancer in 2019 and is now understood to have been transferred to a palliative care unit in Alice Springs recently. Police refused to confirm reports that he had been allowed to take brief excursions around Alice Springs in the company of prison staff. 6 6 Sick Murdoch was born on February 29, 1958. He was a drug smuggler who served 15 months for shooting at people celebrating at an Australian rules football match in 1995. Eight years later he was charged with seven counts of abduction and rape, but later acquitted. The same year he was charged with Falconio's murder. The former mechanic, who once drove road trains across the Australian Outback, lost multiple appeals and was denied special leave to appeal to the High Court in 2007. Peter Falconio case timeline by Harvey Geh PETER Falconio was shot dead in the Australian outback while travelling with girlfriend Joanne Lees in July 2001. He was 28 years old when he was tragically shot by a man who flagged down the van he was driving. The man was 43-year-old drug smuggler Bradley John Murdoch. Murdoch shot Falconio in the head before bundling Lees into his car and binding her with cable ties. She managed to escape and hide in bushes for five hours, before she ran into the road and waved down a passing truck. Lees soon became a prime suspect in her boyfriend's murder after claims she appeared "emotionless" after the incident. But it was later revealed she had taken the sedative Valium to help her handle her horror ordeal. Police were never able to locate Falconio's remains. Reports in February 2023 detailed that police had found some bones near Alice Springs that were being tested to see if they were the remains of Peter Falconio. The reports were later rubbished with authorities stating: 'No human remains have been located by Northern Territory Police, and a search is not currently being conducted." Murdoch has launched several appeals against his conviction, but he remains in prison in the Northern Territory. He will be 74 years old when he is eligible for parole in 2032. He was handed a life sentence with a 28-year non-parole period, due to expire in 2032. News surfaced on February 17, 2023, that cops had found some bones near Alice Springs that were being tested to see if they were the remains of Peter Falconio. But the reports were rubbished with authorities stating: 'No human remains have been located by Northern Territory Police, and a search is not currently being conducted. Mystery continues to surround the Falconio case because of the absence of a body and no obvious motive for the killing. 6

Terrifying video shows cheaply-built deck collapse as toddler prepared to blow out candles at 3rd birthday party

Shocking footage captured the moment a cheaply built deck collapsed as a toddler celebrated his Spider-Man-themed third birthday party. The young son of Hilary and Tony Loffredo was seen preparing to blow out his candles when the deck outside their home in West Des Moines, Iowa suddenly crumbled underneath them. 'The kids were crying and we all were screaming, 'Oh my gosh, what do we do?'' Hilary told KCCL. She said around 20 people had gathered for her son's birthday and were eagerly awaiting his Spider-Man themed cake when the deck caved in seconds before they could tuck in. 'There were some people down trapped between the deck and the house and the grill was on top of them,' Hilary continued. 'We were passing the kids from person to person up to the house to get them safe because we weren't sure when the other part of the deck was going to fall and collapse.' Emergency services raced to the home, and due to the number of people involved the West Des Fire Department upgraded their response to a mass casualty incident to bring more fire trucks and ambulances to the home. Thankfully no children or parents were seriously injured in the collapse, with Tony suffering the worst of the impact as he required stitches on his knee. The young son of Hilary and Tony Loffredo was seen preparing to blow out his candles when the deck outside their home in West Des Moines, Iowa suddenly fell apart Tony said: 'I looked down just under my knee and it's just blood running down my knee and I'm like, 'Oh great.' 'Obviously, it could have been way worse. Very fortunate that was the only thing that really had blood or stitched up.' West Des Fire Marshal Mike Whitsell told KCCI that although the party attendees were okay, when they first arrived on the scene it was a 'very scary situation.' The Loffredos said they bought the home in 2019 after the previous owners put up the wooden deck, and recently had an inspection that found it was not up to scratch. 'The previous homeowners hired a local contractor to put this deck up with the roof that is over it and apparently some corners were cut, some things were forgot,' Hilary said. Whitsell said that while a deck suddenly collapsing is rare, there are some things that homeowners can question to find out if they are at risk. 'How old is your deck? Do you have rotted boards that are on there? Have you had your deck inspected?' he said. 'If you've moved into a newer home or a home that maybe somebody had previously, you might just want to have somebody take a look at that.' For the Loffredos, they said they didn't let the incident ruin their son's birthday, and they went on to celebrate with another cake at a bowling alley later in the day (pictured) For the Loffredos, they said they didn't let the incident ruin their son's birthday. 'We rushed out to the store and just bought a cake. We sang happy birthday to him not here. We went to Spare Time and did it and sang happy birthday to him. He was so excited. All he cared about was the cake,' Hilary said. In a Facebook post, She added that a total of two firetrucks, an ambulance, and five police cars showed up, but said thankfully, 'It could have been much worse!' 'I don't think the Birthday Boy, or any of us, are going to forget this Birthday Party for a long time!' she said.
