Texas A&M 2026 spring game date, time, and channel announced
Texas A&M football's 2025 offseason will officially begin later this month. The spring practice period will begin on March 20 and lead up to the annual Maroon & White spring game on Saturday, April 19. Over the last two months, recruiting has been the primary focus, as coach Mike Elko and his staff have put together an elite list of future visitors in the 2026 recruiting class.
Due to the everchanging college football landscape, the debate surrounding spring games moving forward will continue, as Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian started the conversation after opting not to play the Orange-White game next month and will instead adopt an offseason training regime similar to the NFL offseason.
For the Aggies, Elko knows that finishing 1-4 after a 7-1 start last season demands his newly constructed roster to take the field for live reps, especially redshirt sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed, who will enter the 2025 season as the starter.
On Tuesday, an official time and channel were announced for the Maroon & White spring game on April 19. It will air at 2:00 p.m. CT. and be available to stream on SEC Network+.

Texas A&M's 2025 season will open vs. UTSA on August 30 in Kyle Field, followed by hosting Utah State before hitting the road for a rematch vs. Notre Dame on September 13.

BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) — Lee Corso's final headgear pick on 'College GameDay' will be on the campus where it all started. ESPN's iconic show will begin its 39th season at Ohio State before the defending national champion Buckeyes host the Texas Longhorns on Aug. 30. Corso, who turns 90 in August, announced earlier this year that his final show would be on the opening week of the season. Corso began his popular headgear segment on Oct. 5, 1996, before Ohio State faced Penn State. Since then, he has gone 286-144 in 430 selections wearing everything from helmets and mascot heads to dressing up as the Fighting Irish leprechaun from Notre Dame, the Stanford tree and historic figures James Madison and Benjamin Franklin. He has worn 69 different school's mascot headgear. Corso — the lone remaining member of GameDay's original cast — has selected and worn Brutus Buckeye's headgear a record 45 times. Alabama is next with 38. This will be the 26th appearance by 'College GameDay' in Columbus. ESPN College GameDay announces week 1 destination, could Oklahoma be next? The week one destination for ESPN College GameDay has been set, and it's a doozy. When the Texas Longhorns travel to Columbus to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes, the GameDay crew will be in attendance. It's a rematch of the College Football Playoff semifinal matchup between the two programs. Ohio State won the game 28-14 and went on to beat Notre Dame in the national championship game. Led by Ryan Day at Ohio State and Steve Sarkisian, both programs are going through quarterback turnover. The Buckeyes will go from national championship-winning quarterback Will Howard to Julien Sayin. The Longhorns go from Quinn Ewers, who led Texas to back-to-back semifinal appearances in the College Football Playoff, to the former five-star quarterback Arch Manning. It will also be legendary college football analyst Lee Corso's last GameDay. Ohio State leads the nation in number of College GameDay appearances. This will be their 63rd time featured. It's a marquee matchup for week one of the season between the SEC and the Big Ten. Week two could also feature an ESPN College GameDay experience in an SEC-Big Ten matchup when the Oklahoma Sooners host the Michigan Wolverines in primetime. The Sooners have made 41 appearances on ESPN College GameDay, good for fourth in the nation. Oklahoma has a 27-14 record. In Norman, the Sooners are 6-2 all-time. Norman has played host to GameDay just twice in the last decade. In 2024, Oklahoma's first game in the SEC against Tennessee earned the hosting opportunity and the Sooners lost 25-15. The game was marred by three Jackson Arnold turnovers and a quarterback change just before halftime. Oklahoma is hoping for a bounce-back season on offense, and they'll need it in week two against a Michigan team that should be pretty good defensively. The Wolverines will likely be starting true freshman and former five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood. It will be Underwood's second career collegiate start and first on the road. It will be a huge matchup that will have College Football Playoff implications and would be the perfect setting for an ESPN College GameDay experience.
