Boden white summer dress with 'perfect' fit is on sale

Daily Mirror5 days ago
The Boden Anna dress is made using 100% cotton and comes in three different lengths - including petite, regular and tall
Summer is arguably the easiest to dress of all seasons, there's no layering required and all we need is a one-and-done piece that takes us through sunny days. The Boden Anna Double Cloth Midi Dress is loved by many shoppers who claim it has the "perfect fit".
The 100% cotton frock retails at £98 online but Boden shoppers can get 15% off with the code: W7CX and purchase it for £83.30, both in White and Woodland Green. The Jam Red alternative is reduced to £68.60 and the Bright Blue option is further marked down to £58.80.
The dress is designed with a flattering fit-and-flare shape as well as pockets. It also comes in UK sizes 4 - 22 in various lengths - petite, regular and long.
One enthusiastic customer wrote: "Love this dress - have it in three colours. Material is so nice and looks very flattering on. Bonus that it has pockets too." Another buyer also echoed this, saying: "So good I have it in three colours."
The soft fabric and the swishy tiered skirt keep the wearer cool while the border waistband creates a flattering silhouette and slimmer waistline. The dress has a lined bodice to create a smoother, more comfortable fit.
Other reviewers have reported receiving compliments from strangers while wearing the dress. One said: "Love this dress. Great fit and colour (blue). Even had a stranger in the street stop to compliment me. Sits beautifully by skimming curves but shaping at the waistline without pinching. Love the sleeve length too. Just the right coverage for my top of arms."
But another found it 'ill fitting', explaining: "It's too big and low at the bust and far too long." A shopper also agreed and returned the dress as she shared: "Unfortunately around the bust area there was to much material and it sat away from my body gaping and exposing my bra."
Shoppers on the hunt for summery white dresses are in luck with New Look's White Crinkled Frilly Trim Midi Dress at £24.99. This 100% cotton frock is breezy with a relaxed fit and Bohemian frills, while Next offers a pricier 100% linen midi dress at £65, complete with chic shirred elasticated details. For something a tad more glam, River Island hits the mark with a bow-detailed White Sleeveless Bow Detail Corset Dress for £46 in black or pink, reports OK!.
Fashionistas have raved about the Boden Anna Double Cloth Midi Dress with one remarking: "True to size - beautiful colour. Great item that can be dressed up or down." While another review read: "Love it. Very flattering, perfect fit and length. It's quite heavy with the double cloth but excellent quality. I'm sure I will wear it a lot."

River Island's Chanel-inspired cardigan in trending colour of the season is set to fly off shelves

If you're looking for a chic layer to add to your transitional wardrobe, River Island has just dropped a Chanel-inspired cardigan in a trending butter yellow shade Chanel-inspired cardigans became a huge trend last year, with hundreds of brands dropping their own versions of the designer-looking pieces. M&S largely led the way on this, releasing various colourways and patterns, but other retailers followed suit, including H&M, Next, and River Island. It seems that the trend is not going away anytime soon in 2025, with new styles cropping up as brands begin to transition into autumn/winter releases. And after doing our weekly scroll through the River Island website, we spotted a gorgeous Chanel-esque cardigan that we predict will be flying off the shelves. The Yellow Long Sleeve Boucle Edge Cardigan, priced at £49, is available in the trending colour of the season, butter yellow, which is why we think a sell-out is on its way. Butter yellow has been everywhere this spring and summer, and it will continue into the new season. With its classic round neck, autum weather-appropriate long sleeves, and cute button-up front, this is kind of the cardigan that you can just throw on and go and feel put together. The textured boucle trim adds a touch of luxe that is reminiscent of designer styles like Chanel, while the gold buttons have a Balmain feel to them. A subtle shimmer is woven through the soft acryclic blend making this the ideal cardigan for days when you want to dress up a little or elevate your simple everyday outfit. Chuck it on over jeans, tailored trousers, dresses and skirts for a comfy layer that is ideal for summer evenings when the temperature drops or transitioning into the autumn. If you're looking for a cardigan that still has that designer look, but is more appropriate for warmer weather, Marks & Spencer's Cotton Blend Textured Button Front Cropped Cardigan, priced at £36, is such a versatile piece to add to your wardrobe. Altnernatively, Lipsy's Ivory Buttoned Crew Neck Knit Cardigan, priced at £50, is a smarter style that you could dress up for work or layer of dresses at more formal events. And it still has that luxe look for a fraction of the designer price tag.

Why spend £910 when New Look's Chanel-inspired shoes cost £32?

Metro journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more New Look has always been a go-to for fashion at affordable prices. But in recent years the high street retailer has really turned it up a notch with its incredibly chic clothes and accessories. Case in point are New Look's Contrast Trim Faux Leather Slingback Pumps, which we think look very similar to Chanel's iconic Slingback Heels that fetch a pretty penny (and then some). The Contrast Trim Faux Leather Slingback Pumps from New Look retail for £32.99, while the original designer footwear cost a steep £910. So, of course we're shopping the high street pair to save us £877 – it's just a no brainer. Crafted from faux leather fabric, these slingback pumps feature a square toe in black to contrast the rest of the cream slingback design features an ankle strap with buckle fastening to secure in place. It also boasts a 4.8cm block heel. The shoes are fitted with a flexible sole, have heel to toe padding and are fully cushioned with a thick foam lining for optimum in UK shoe sizes 3 to 8. BUY NOW FOR £32.99 When we first locked eyes on New Look's Slingback Pumps I genuinely had to double take, as they look almost identical to the real deal. The New Look design features a cream body, though it's described as white on the website, with a contrast black toe detail. Now we know Chanel's Slingback Heels come in a variety of colours and fabrics, but we think these share the most likeness with Chanel's beige and black variation. The Contrast Trim Faux Leather Slingback Pumps have a square toe, whereas Chanel's design boast a round and slightly pointed toe. While both slingback designs feature an ankle strap, Chanel's creation is elasticated, whereas New Look's version have a buckle strap, which we prefer the idea of to ensure a secure fit. After all, the elastic can tend to go. The two shoes also feature a chunky block heel, however, the heel height is slightly different. Yes, Chanel's Slingbacks come in various heel heights, but the mid height measure 6.5cm in height, which is higher than New Look's 4.8cm heel. Now, I don't know about you but I am already a tall girl, and I am opting for shorter block heels for day and night, so the latter appeals to me more. Of course, another standout difference is the heel on the Chanel design features the iconic CC logo. New Look has crafted its Slingback Pumps out of a faux leather fabric, which has seen these shoes registered by The Vegan Society as completely animal free. However, Chanel has used goatskin and grosgrain to create the original design, hence the three-figure price. More Trending I have relied on New Look shoes for decades as they are ultra comfortable. Staying true to form New Look has championed comfort with its slingbacks as it features heel to toe padding, thick cushioned foam, as well as flexible insoles, so you can wear for hours on end. We would style both shoes the exact same way. Pair with ankle grazer jeans, tailored trousers, even a midi skirt or dress, to see you from the office to wedding season and date nights in between. Yes, there may be a few subtle stylistic differences, but considering the price and versatility we would pick New Look's Contrast Trim Faux Leather Slingback Pumps time and time again.
