Eagles blow out Chiefs to win franchise's second Super Bowl

The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl 59 with plenty of flair. Now, they'll celebrate their victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in style as well.
The Eagles' Super Bowl parade is set for Friday, with the City of Brotherly Love sure to show plenty of affection for the newly crowned title-winners on Valentine's Day. Quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley and coach Nick Sirianni are among the figures who are sure to command the spotlight during the celebration. And the gathering could be something of a last hurrah for some, as offensive coordinator Kellen Moore will return to join the team before heading back to his new post as the New Orleans Saints' head coach.

The parade is set to begin at 11 a.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 14, with a formal program set to take place in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art at 1 p.m. ET.

Kennedy Blvd. to 16th Street, northbound on 16th Street to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, westbound on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to Eakins Oval, ending at Philadelphia Museum of Art apron."

Colin Cowherd Says Jalen Hurts is More Like The Spice Girls Than Taylor Swift
Colin Cowherd believes there are two types of quarterbacks in the NFL — the leaders and the ensemble. So where does he think Jalen Hurts falls? "Some quarterbacks in this league are Taylor Swift," Cowherd, the host of FOX Sports' "The Herd," said. "They're leading the entire tour. Most quarterbacks in this league are the Spice Girls. They're part of an ensemble. Jalen Hurts is part of an ensemble." Essentially, Cowherd is claiming that Hurts is a cog that helps the Philadelphia Eagles win, rather than the head of the snake, carrying them to victory. It's not necessarily a knock on Hurts, who was good enough to help the Eagles win Super Bowl LIX, but more of a criticism of the way fans perceive his greatness. "Fans view quarterbacks based on winning," Cowherd said. Hurts has done that at the highest level. But, he doesn't have the individual talent that positional counterparts such as Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson possess. In fact, the Eagles went on a nine-game winning streak during the regular-season, and a Super-Bowl-winning postseason run because they took the ball out of Hurts' hand. "Last year, in the bye week, the people who know him best said, 'You know, we'd be better off throwing less,'" Cowherd said. "That's a tell.'" That resulted in the Eagles having the lowest pass-rate in the NFL (43.7%). They ended the 2024 season with 448 pass attempts to 621 rush attempts. Cowherd is basically stating that the fans' perception of Hurts is inconsistent with his actual individual talent. And that notion was backed up in a recent survey that The Athletic conducted of NFL executives. After questioning 50 front-office members, Hurts was placed in the second-tier of quarterbacks, tied for ninth with Houston Texans' starter C.J. Stroud. In fact, only three of the 50 executives had him ranked in Tier 1. "This is not a knock on Jalen Hurts," Cowherd said. HC Andy Reid on Chiefs' Detractors: 'We Don't Listen to All the Noise'
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a bizarre season, but one that still saw them lose just three games. That said, a Super Bowl LIX drubbing at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles — which saw them trail by as many as 34 points — and 11 of Kansas City's 15 regular-season wins being one-score affairs have led some to believe that the Chiefs' reign is nearing its end. But head coach Andy Reid doesn't want to hear it. "You understand because there were so many close games, but that's the National Football League, so I was proud of the guys and how they handled those [one-score games]," Reid said in an interview on "Up & Adams" on Monday when asked about the criticism that last season's team faced. "When it's all said and done, it's winning the game. We have winners, and they figured it out. I was proud of them for that. "We don't listen to all the noise. If you do that, you're gonna go crazy, and then you're not gonna have fun, right?" Five of Kansas City's 11 one-score victories came against teams that missed the playoffs. At the same time, the 15 regular-season wins were a franchise record for the Chiefs, who had previously won back-to-back Super Bowls and three of the past five championships. The bulk of Kansas City's offseason was spent on keeping its own and improving its offensive line. On the preservation front, the Chiefs extended/re-signed guard Trey Smith (four-year, $94 million deal), defensive end George Karlaftis (four-year, $88 million deal), linebacker Nick Bolton (three-year, $45 million deal) and wide receiver Marquise Brown (one-year, $7 million deal), among others. In free agency, the Chiefs, most notably, signed offensive tackle Jaylon Moore (two-year, $30 million deal) and cornerback Kristian Fulton (two-year, $20 million deal). They also traded All-Pro guard Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears. In the NFL draft, Kansas City selected Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons at pick No. 32, Tennessee defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott at pick No. 63 and Louisville defensive end Ashton Gillotte at pick No. 66, among other selections. Kansas City lost its 2025 preseason opener to the Arizona Cardinals last week, with it next facing the Seattle Seahawks on Friday night. The Chiefs open the regular season in Brazil against the AFC West-rival Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 5. "We've got a great challenge coming up here. Get to start it off in Brazil [against the Chargers], and then we go from there. These teams in the AFC West are strong, great head coaches, great players, so we understand that. And then the rest of the league, there's so much parity in this league that you've got to be on your A game every week," Reid said. "That's what we're striving to do, get ourselves in a position where we can do that." The 67-year-old Reid is entering his 13th season as Kansas City's head coach. The Chiefs are 143-53 in the regular season and 18-8 in the postseason under Reid, highlighted by three Super Bowl championships, 11 double-digit win seasons, 11 playoff appearances and nine consecutive AFC West division titles. Laura Rutledge promoted to ESPN's No. 1 ‘Monday Night Football' crew
Laura Rutledge will have even more on her plate this fall. The 'NFL Live' host will now have a permanent role on ESPN's No. 1 'Monday Night Football' crew, joining Lisa Salters on sideline duties throughout the 2025 season, the network announced Tuesday. Rutledge and Salters, whose contract was extended, will work all 20 games with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman in the booth — 17 'Monday Night Football' games, one of the games on ESPN's Saturday Week 18 doubleheader, a wild-card game and a divisional round game.
