Touts infiltrate Oasis Murrayfield last minute ticket sale intended for "loyal fans"

A final tranche of tickets was meant to go to fans who'd been vetted and signed up last year. But savvy touts again spoiled it for the real deal Oasis followers Touts have sickened devoted Oasis fans by hoovering up hundreds of last minute tickets for their Scottish gigs. ‌ The band released a final tranche of briefs for the three Murrayfield gigs that kick off tonight, with buyers required to sign up via Ticketmaster after losing out in the big sale last year. ‌ But sophisticated touts illegally used multiple identities to impersonate fans and have managed to squeeze out the genuine Oasis fans trying to get their hands on gold-dust briefs. ‌ Reg Walker, the UK's top ticket fraud investigator, has revealed that tout-to-tout forums have been engaging in furious last minute business - with some touts getting their hands on more than 30 codes that give access to late-release tickets. Walker said: 'It's quite normal for promoters to keep last minute tickets - 'production holds' - and these can be a godsend for the most devoted fans to get access to tickets at face value. ‌ 'The problem is that the touts prepare for all this in advance and use their computers to defeat online security and get ahead of the online queues. 'I am aware of one trader selling off codes for more than 30 last minute Oasis tickets. 'The tout is brazenly breaking every term and condition that is designed to protect fans - and breaching UK laws that have previously been used to jail touts. ‌ 'It is galling that the people who illegally get these tickets can't even be bothered to go through the process of getting the tickets. They are happy to take a profit and let someone further down the supply line do the grunt work buy the actual briefs.' On Viagogo last night (Thurs), faceless touts were offering batches of up to 10 tickets for up to £1,000 each. ‌ One tout, ET 365 - verified on Viagogo as a trusted trader - was listing the briefs for £815, which would include a service fee to the site of £39 per ticket. The face value was £185. Another tout, Cr Tech - whose trader name does not appear to correspond to a listed UK company - was selling ten tickets for the gigs for £562. UK law forbids traders to pose as fans and primary seller Ticketmaster forbids individuals to resell tickets or buy more than four per person. ‌ Reg Walker, of the Iridium Consultancy, said: 'What we are seeing now is a wave of bot attacks and other illegal methods that make it very difficult for real fans to succeed. 'There is a new breed of tout - we call them 'sneaker kids' - who are very prevalent now, from the UK and from abroad, who are very adept at getting tickets. 'We are also seeing a lot of activity from touts who have illegally sold tickets earlier on - illegal 'spec' selling - trying desperately to fulfil the orders to customers, as Viagogo will fine them if they don't deliver the tickets. ‌ 'It all adds up to a flurry of activity for touts.' The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is already considering action against Ticketmaster after deciding the controversial site may have breached consumer protection law by selling 'platinum' tickets for almost 2.5 times the standard price without explaining they carried no extra benefits. Ticketmaster's ramping up of the original price resulted in touts fleecing fans even further to get their cut via an illegal resale. ‌ Oasis have sold out the three Murrayfield gigs, with more than 200,000 fans from all over the world expected to attend tonight and on Saturday and Tuesday. Fans of the band - fronted by Noel and Liam Gallagher - who registered for the original tour sale were contacted by Ticketmaster in June to be told they were in with a shout of last chance tickets. ‌ Ticketmaster wrote: 'The promoters have informed us there may be some final production release tickets put on sale in the last days before the UK and Ireland dates. If you'd like to be notified when tickets become available, click the link below and let us know which city or cities you're interested in.' Unfortunately, touts were lying in wait and had computers set up to bombard the Ticketmaster system with requests. Oasis ticket codes were meant to be non-transferable and linked to a specific Ticketmaster account - but touts have crafty workarounds. ‌ Adam Webb, of the Fanfair Alliance campaign group, said he submitted a specific complaint to the Competition & Markets Authority about how certain Viagogo sellers were illegally listing tickets for the Oasis shows at Murrayfield. He said: 'Weeks later, we have had no meaningful response. It's not good enough. 'Until those with authority step up to the plate and take action, UK fans will continue to be plagued by these parasites.' Viagogo, Ticketmaster and Oasis management have been asked to comment. Irish designer Martha Nolan-O'Slatarra recently celebrated the launch of her very own lifestyle brand - she was found unconscious on a boat docked at a yacht club and later died Police have issued a major update over a young Irish designer who died on a luxury yacht. ‌ Martha Nolan-O'Slatarra, 33, was found unconscious around midnight on August 6 on a boat docked at the posh Montauk Yacht Club in The Hamptons, New York City. She was later pronounced dead at the scene by East Hampton Town Police. ‌ People nearby tried to resuscitate the designer after she was found unconscious on the boat 'Ripple'. Police are yet to announce a cause of death following an autopsy, but have now said her body 'did not show evidence of violence'. Ms Nolan-O'Slatarra recently celebrated the launch of her very own lifestyle brand in a glamorous Hamptons resort. It comes after reports of a dad's tragic three-word post hours before plunging to his death at Oasis gig. ‌ READ MORE: Comatose woman woke before organ harvesting surgery but 'docs operated anyway' Reports say the founder of fashion label East x East was known to enjoy summer in Montauk. The club's impressive location offers luxurious accommodation, spa facilities, a pool, a beach, harbour cruises, biking and yoga. Residents of the wealthy area were left reeling with questions about what exactly took place the night the young woman died. ‌ Ms Nolan-O'Slatarra was "well known in the community", the New York Post reports. She was originally from the Republic of Ireland, but moved to the US at the age of 26 to pursue her career. ‌ 'We dreamed big together, laughed harder than anyone else could understand and built so much for nothing,' said East x East co-founder Dylan Grace in an Instagram post following Ms Nolan-O'Slatarra's death. They added: 'I'm truly blessed and grateful to have had you in my life… Love you so much Mar. Fly high girl.' Three die in crash as librarian, 81, in Audi A8 'presses accelerator in error'

Humphrey Pickering, 81, lost control of his powerful Audi A8 after failing to negotiate a sharp bend and knocked down Stephen Burch and Katherine Burch, in Beaumaris, North Wales An 81-year-old motorist pressed his accelerator pedal 'in error' and hit a retired couple at high speed, an inquest has heard. ‌ Stephen Burch and Katherine Burch, both 65, had no time to react as Humphrey Pickering failed to negotiate a sharp bend and lost control of his powerful Audi A8 automatic car. The former vicar and charity worker, from Alcester, Warwickshire, suffered multiple injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in the popular North Wales seaside town Beaumaris. ‌ Ex-librarian Mr Pickering, from Colwyn Bay, also died at the scene in Alma Street, as his car went on to collide with the front of a house on the afternoon of August 28 last year. He was not wearing his seat-belt and sustained fatal chest injuries. It comes after reports a dad's tragic three-word post hours before plunging to his death at Oasis gig. ‌ Caernarfon Coroner's Court heard Mr Pickering had earlier tried to pull slowly out of a tight parking space off the seafront near to the Bulkeley Hotel, to allow enough room for his wife, Margaret, to get into the vehicle's passenger side. An eyewitness told the court the grey Audi suddenly 'lurched forward' and the driver 'appeared to panic' before the car 'shot off down the road'. CCTV footage showed the Audi initially accelerate 'abruptly' into a group of four pedestrians, knocking down two people who escaped with minor injuries. ‌ Meilir Hywel, forensic collision investigator for North Wales Police, said Mr Pickering's car continued to accelerate on Alma Street and narrowly missed colliding with two vehicles. Mr Pickering then lost control of the Audi on a 90 degrees right bend. Pre-crash data recovered from the vehicle showed the accelerator pedal was repeatedly pressed and the brake pedal was not activated. The Audi reached a speed of 55mph, in a 20mph zone, in the seconds before the collision, the court heard. Mr Hywel concluded the sudden acceleration was because of 'pedal misapplication in applying the accelerator instead of the brake pedal in error'. He said: 'He was then unable to correct his error while driving a powerful vehicle.' ‌ One of Mr and Mrs Burch's three children, Sarah Packwood, told the inquest her parents were both of 'deep Christian faith'. Her mother was a talented musician and baker who 'always put others first' and was 'passionate about serving her community', while her father 'actively shared his faith throughout his life' and was an 'avid sports fan'. She said her family has raised concerns about the age of Mr Pickering and his ability to drive a brand new powerful vehicle. Mr Pickering's daughter, Helen Baxter, said the father-of-two was an 'active member of the community' who was 'out in the garden every day in all weathers' and had 'good' mental agility. She said Mr Pickering was a librarian in Oldham before he set up his own business in automated library services, which led to him working around the world. She said he had five holidays booked for 2024 'which was normal for him as he loved to travel'. Senior coroner for north-west Wales, Kate Robertson, said she was satisfied the 'most likely explanation' for the collision was the 'pedal missapplication which has led to a sudden and unintended acceleration'. She told both families: 'There are no words that I can say that will ease the pain and suffering you will no doubt be feeling, have felt and will continue to feel, but you have all acted with huge dignity. I am incredibly sorry for your loss in these tragic circumstances.'
