Akshaya Tritiya 2025: Date, auspicious timings, significance of Akha Teej — all you need to know
Akshaya Tritiya 2025 Date: Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akha Teej, is a very auspicious Hindu festival that brings good luck and success. As the word Akshaya means never diminishing, many people mark this festival by buying gold, which is believed to bring wealth and prosperity in the future.
Hindu mythology suggests that Akshaya Tritiya is a day ruled by Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe, which is why the birth anniversary of the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu falls on the same day, called Parashurama Jayanti.
According to Drik Panchang, Akshaya Tritiya usually falls on the Shukla Paksha Tritiya day (third day) in the month of Vaishakh, which corresponds to April or May, according to the Gregorian calendar.
This year, it'll be observed on April 30, 2025, falling on a Wednesday, with the Akshaya Tritiya Puja Muhurta starting from 05:41 A.M. to 12:18 PM, lasting 06 hours 37 minutes, according to Drik Panchang. The tritiya tithi will start on April 29, 2025, at 05:31 PM and end on April 30, 2025, at 02:12 PM.
One of the most auspicious times to buy gold is on Akshaya Tritiya this year, in 2025, starting from Tuesday, April 29, at 05:31 P.M. and concluding on Wednesday, April 30, at 05:41 A.M, lasting 12 hours and 11 minutes.
According to one narrative, on Akshaya Tritiya, Treta Yuga, the second of the four yugas, began, and Lord Vishnu's sixth avatar, Parshuram, was born. Furthermore, it is said that Maharishi Ved Vyasa, the author of the Mahabharata, began narrating the epic to Lord Ganesh on this day.
On this day, Lord Krishna saw his childhood buddy Sudama. Another belief holds that the Ganga descended from heaven on Akshaya Tritiya. Overall, Akshaya Tritiya is a time to celebrate success, fortune, and fresh starts. Devotees seek the heavenly grace of Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi, and Lord Kubera.

Paramasivan Fathima Movie Review: Not all spirits are worth summoning
Paramasivan Fathima Movie Synopsis Two feuding villages, one Hindu and one Christian, face a series of murders that lead to the revelation of spirits seeking justice for past religious conflicts. Paramasivan Fathima Movie Review: Written By: Abhinav Subramanian Just when you thought Kollywood had exhausted its quota of caste-and-religion films, along comes Paramasivan Fathima to prove there's always room for one more. Set in feuding villages of Subramaniapuram (Hindu) and Yokopuram (Christian), the film opens with wedding night murders that have both communities pointing fingers. Director Esakki Karvannan (who also plays the police lead) handles religious themes with heavy-handed obviousness, reducing believers to caricatures who might as well be living in medieval times rather than modern first half establishes the murders with attempted comic sequences that fall flat. A man is lured to his death by following a singer he's attracted to into the forest - hardly the stuff of suspense. The police investigation aims for laughs that never land, making the whole enterprise feel tonally inevitable flashback reveals childhood sweethearts Paramasivan (Vimal) and Fathima ( Chaya Devi ) separated by religious conversion, Fathima's father's death and his dying wish to be buried as a Hindu, and the resulting burial ground disputes. Both Paramasivan and Fathima are murdered, and their grievances manifest as vengeful spirits. The film drags you through 140 minutes of village squabbling only to resolve everything with supernatural intervention - it's like watching grown adults argue over whose imaginary friend is and Chaya Devi do what they can with roles that require them to be both earthly teachers and ethereal avengers. MS Bhaskar's Father character is a collection of tired pastor clichés. The visuals are serviceable, though the sound design assaults you with unnecessary Fathima is the kind of film that thinks adding ghosts to rural conflicts automatically makes them interesting. It doesn't.

‘Truly Rare': Sargun Mehta On Ravi Dubey Putting Her Name First In Credits
Last Updated: Sargun Mehta shared how once she had written Ravi Dubey's name first and the latter was quite upset about it. Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta 's love story has been nothing short of enchanting for their followers. From their gorgeous images together to the duo always supporting each other, they have served some major couple goals. While they have often shared about what makes their bond unshakeable, in the latest, Sargun mentioned how Ravi has always insisted on putting her name first in any credit or reference. Sargun Mehta told ETimes how once she had written Ravi Dubey's name first, and the latter was quite upset about it. While she insisted that they are in this together, he had emphasised her name being written first always. She added, 'That's something truly rare-very few people put their wives first, but Ravie always has. No matter the scale of my work-whether I did two rupees or ten rupees worth-he always says, 'Sargun did it.' He gives me more credit than I deserve. Maybe that's why he always puts my name first." However, Ravi's views on the matter were a little different. He insisted that it was not about setting an example and purely professional. He said, 'Within Dreamiyata as an enterprise, the leader we all rally behind, including myself, is Sargun Mehta. Her name coming first isn't about setting a precedent or creating an image. You can ask anyone at our production house-Sargun is the king, queen, emperor, empress-everything. I'm the commander-in-chief and proud to be a good one, but she's the visionary." Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey met on the set of their daily soap, 12/24 Karol Bagh. Ravi planned a dramatic proposal during his appearance on Nach Baliye Season 5 in December 2012. Following their performance, he knelt down and proposed to Sargun on national television with a ring. On December 7, 2013, the pair married in a traditional Hindu ceremony. Beyond their personal lives, Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey have set examples as producers. The duo has launched a few shows under their banner, Dreamiyata Dramaa. First Published:
