The Indian Railways has undertaken several reforms to improve the ease of accessing services for passengers and enhancing transparency. These changes include increased time frame in which the reservation chart is prepared, revised ticket prices based on the level of service and distance, and mandatory Aadhaar authentication for Tatkal ticket purchases to prevent exploitation. OTP-based verification has also been introduced. These reforms are effective from July 2025.Tatkal tickets purchased via IRCTC 's official website and mobile app will only be accessible to individuals who have successfully authenticated Aadhaar from July 1, 2025. This means that passengers must link their Aadhaar number with their IRCTC user profile and verify it successfully to be able to book Tatkal tickets online.Further, Aadhaar-based OTP authentication will become mandatory for Tatkal bookings made online from 15th July 2025 onwards.Starting July 15, 2025, all Tatkal tickets booked at computerised Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and through authorised railway agents will require an extra layer of verification through OTP (One-Time Password) authentication.From July 1, 2025, authorised agents will be restricted from booking tickets during specific time slots to prioritise bookings for individual passengers.For AC classes: Agents cannot book tickets between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM.For non-AC classes: Agents cannot book tickets between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM.The fare revision also applies to premier and special train services, such as Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat, Tejas, Humsafar, Amrit Bharat, Mahamana, Gatimaan, Antyodaya, Jan Shatabdi, Yuva Express, AC Vistadome coaches, Anubhuti coaches, and ordinary non-suburban services (after 500 km), based on the new fare structure for different classes.The railway board has proposed preparing the reservation chart eight hours before the departure. For trains departing before 1400 hours, the chart will be prepared the previous day at 2100 hrs itself. Earlier, the reservation chart was prepared four hours before the departure of the train, which gave very less time for passengers.For ordinary non-AC classes (non-suburban trains):Second Class: Increased by half paisa per km subject to condition that· No increase up to 500 km· Increase by Rs 5 for distance 501 to 1,500 km· Increase by Rs 10 for distance 1501 to 2,500 km· Increase by Rs 15 for distance 2501 to 3,000 kmSleeper Class: Increased by 0.5 paisa per kmFirst Class: Increased by 0.5 paisa per km· For Mail/Express Trains (Non-AC):· Second Class: Increased by 01 paisa per km· Sleeper Class: Increased by 01 paisa per km· First Class: Increased by 01 paisa per kmFor AC Classes (Mail/Express trains):AC Chair Car, AC 3-Tier/3-Economy, AC 2-Tier, and AC First/Executive Class/Executive Anubhuti: Increased by 02 paisa per km.There has been no change in ancillary charges as part of the recent railway fare revisions. Reservation fees, superfast surcharges, and other additional charges will continue to remain the same. Additionally, GST will be levied as per the prevailing rules, and the fare rounding principles will follow the existing norms, ensuring consistency in the overall ticket pricing structure.Starting July 1, 2025, only Aadhaar authenticated users will be allowed to book Tatkal Train Tickets on the IRCTC Website and Mobile Apps.Authenticate your IRCTC User ID now by following these steps:Step 1: Log in to the IRCTC website or IRCTC Rail Connect Mobile App.Step 2: Go to "My Account".Step 3: Click on 'Authenticate User' and complete the process.

No training, constant calls, and unprofessional behaviour The user mentioned being assigned a cold call campaign, with mandatory check-ins at 8 am and 4:30 pm every weekday. 'In general there is no training, and the lead guy sitting in India today was very rude and acted like I haven't been doing anything,' he said. 'He also complained and ambushed me about other irrelevant topics such as why I haven't dug into the CRM — there is nothing to do on it yet.' He concluded by expressing anxiety over possibly being fired soon, adding, 'Maybe I need to work harder, but today was just unreal where this Indian guy turned on me and was so disrespectful.' MSMEs making significant contribution to India's GDP: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi
Mumbai: Underlining that India is the fourth-largest economy in the world, Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday said that the MSMEs contribute 30.1 per cent to the country's GDP, 35.4 per cent to manufacturing and 45.73 per cent to exports, adding that along with the agriculture sector, MSMEs will play a significant role in India becoming the third-largest economy in the world by 2029. Jitan Ram Manjhi said that the MSME sector is playing an important role in providing employment to entrepreneurs who invest less than big industries and in making them entrepreneurs. It is also working to provide training to new entrepreneurs from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in rural and urban areas and provide them with loans by providing bank guarantees. 'Through the Udyam portal, new entrepreneurs who are employed by the MSME department, the registration is done. They are being helped in Udyam Assist by providing training, getting bank loans and starting a business. So far, the MSME department has done the process of providing employment to 34 crore unemployed people in the country. Due to this, the department has fulfilled the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide employment to 22 crore unemployed people,' said the minister. According to the minister, small businesses are helped through the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. They are also given training through the MSME department and are given initial assistance of Rs 15,000 to set up their businesses. Depending on the nature of their work, the standard of work and the quality of their work, assistance ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 4 lakh is provided. He also said that their financial self-reliance is being increased by starting businesses at the local level. 'The Prime Minister's Employment Guarantee Scheme is being implemented in urban and rural areas to provide opportunities for self-reliance to women and youth. Under this, loans are provided after providing training to those registered on the Udyam portal. So far, 80.33 lakh jobs have been provided under the Prime Minister's Employment Guarantee Scheme," the Union Minister said. He also said that 80 per cent of this has been provided in rural areas and 20 per cent in urban areas. The MSME department is constantly striving to empower women and make the youth self-reliant, and trained unemployed youth are guaranteed up to Rs 5 crore under the Credit Guarantee Scheme for large industries. Due to this, a large number of new entrepreneurs are coming forward in this industry, he said. The Minister said that the National SC-ST Hub is run under the Ministry of MSME to empower entrepreneurs from SC, ST communities for entrepreneurship. The goal is to provide procurement policies and market opportunities. They are supported by government schemes, financial aid and loans. Along with this, the government also purchases the goods produced by them when there is no demand in the market. So far, the government has purchased goods worth Rs 3,500 crore, he added. Jitan Ram Manjhi said that the MSME is also cooperating in tool rooms and technology. Such industries are operating in Mumbai and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. 'In this too, 22,440 unemployed people have been trained so far. The department will train 10 crore unemployed people by 2029 and make them employment-oriented,' he added.
