In the main event of Tuesday's show, Bianca Belair and Naomi defeated Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson to retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. The broadcast was interrupted by what appeared to be a test card, and it read, 'WWE transmission'. The text 'NXT Vengeance Day' then appeared in the teaser, so it seems like some kind of surprise is in store for the premium live event.

Rumors for the Day: On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said there has been a lot of talk within WWE of Chris Jericho making his return when his contract expires at the end of the year. There is apparently a belief that his return is inevitable. Per Fightful Select, Naomi's pregnancy has led to 'huge creative shifts' within WWE. It's still not clear, however, how WWE will determine a new women's world champion. Folks have noticed that LA Knight's profile on the website now appears on the Raw roster, signifying his official switch. On Lucha Libre Online, Hugo Savinovich claimed there are many people in WWE who want Alberto Del Rio to make his return, and Roman Reigns is apparently one of those people. A fun one: TC at WrestleVotes says The New Day personally wrote the news article that appeared on the T-shirt Corey Graves showed on Raw this week. Beyond The Gates Recap: Anita Learns The Truth About Leslie and Barbara originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Beyond The Gates recap: Smitty and Martin's Brownstone: Martin arrives with a bag. He and Smitty chat with the kids about meeting June but they would rather discuss their pop coming home. Smitty says Martin is home for now so they can be supportive as they move forward with their mother. Neither Samantha nor Tyrell have any interest in a meeting beyond what they already had. They thank their parents for taking care of them as everything they are is because of them. They don't want their dad and pop to worry they will stop loving them. Just then, Naomi calls Martin and thanks him for the night before. She asks if the kids have made a decision about seeing June again. Martin says they have decided not to go forward with further visits. Smitty asks Samantha what is wrong. She says she is thinking about how June's feelings must be hurt. Martin and Smitty say she can change her mind. Tyrell says they are all set as June was their mother but she messed up and gave them away. They are happy as can be with their life as it is. Samantha confirms they don't want a relationship with June. With that, the kids go upstairs. Smitty asks Martin if he's good with a sleepover. Martin thanks his husband for letting him stay. The two get a wee adorable with each other as Samantha and Tyrell listen from the top of the stairs. Orphey Gene's: June excitedly asks Naomi what Samantha and Tyrell decided. Naomi tells June the kids don't want to see her again. June wonders if she did anything wrong. Naomi says Samantha and Tyrell are only children and don't understand all June has been through. She says she feels like she's being thrown away like trash. June pulls out her picture and rips it up. She turns on Naomi and says she got her hopes up and wishes she had never seen their faces. June says Naomi ruined her life. Jacob reminds June that Naomi helped save her life. June wonders what she saved as her life is meaningless. Naomi brings up Regina and says she cares about her. June says she should have been left where they found her and exits. Jacob tells Naomi to let her go and blow off steam. Naomi thinks someone needs to be there to help June process. Jacob reminds his wife that June has lived on the street for years and has ways of processing she could never fathom. Naomi blames herself for everything but Jacob says she gave her hope. Naomi says she should have stayed out of it as she's destroyed so many lives (She's not wrong). Jacob promises to go looking for June and heads out. Naomi calls Regina and gives her the heads up June may be headed her way. Just then, Jacob calls and says she's at the Brownstone. Naomi says she's headed that way. Leslie's Digs: Eva arrives with coffee to find her mama all decked out. She is thrilled with her new station in life as everything in the world is right. Eva has never seen her mother this ecstatic. She wonders about her next step and Leslie says she is heading over to talk to Anita as she had such a negative impact on her mother's life and tragic ending. Eva wonders why there's a rush and Leslie says she is feeling guided by her mother's hand. She as the envelope with the proof of her parentage. Leslie recalls how Peaches taught her to stand up for herself and is grateful for the peace that comes with clarity. She has been reborn a new Leslie. Leslie insists on going to see Anita saying her mother brought The Articulettes together. Eva understands her mother thinks Anita owes her. Leslie concurs saying her mother set the course for Anita to be the star she is today. Eva asks her mother to tread lightly but Leslie wonders why she should start now. Leslie says everyone should worry because she has what she wants and they are all going to pay. They are not ready for Miss Leslie. Anita and Vernon's Mansion: Anita tells Vernon that Leslie is on her way over. Vernon has to be in a meeting and Anita says she can handle it. Just then, Vernon gets a text from Martin saying he is staying the night, just one night, at the brownstone. Leslie arrives in sunglasses and Vernon heads upstairs for his meeting. Anita wonders why she is there. Leslie says she has arrived and plans on staying a long time. They take a seat and Leslie asks about Barbara. She says it seems like all three Articulettes seemed to love Barbara but notes the bad blood and resentment. Leslie goes on and Anita tells her to get to the point or get gone. Leslie thinks Anita is just as nasty today as she was when she kicked Barbara out of the group. Anita says Leslie doesn't know anything about Barbara. Leslie notes Barbara died by suicide because of how Anita treated her. Anita tells Leslie to get gone. Leslie says she won't be as easy to get rid of AS HER MAMA WAS. Anita questions her words and Leslie blatantly says Barbara was her mother. Smitty and Martin's Brownstone: June shows up and Smitty and Martin don't understand why. Martin says how sorry he is but this is Samantha and Tyrell's home. If they don't want her here, she can't be. Martin tries to get her gone but June raises her voice saying she remembers when she shut her door for privacy her girl sat right outside waiting for her. She wonders if Samantha still does that. Smitty says the family is trying to digest everything from the night before. June says she doesn't want to hurt anyone. She gets loud as she tries to convey other things to her kids they must remember. With that, she says she will go. Samantha and Tyrell come downstairs and tell June to say what she needs to say and go. June tells her kids she used to be very pretty pre-addiction. Some folks said she might have been a model. She says Tyrell got his math skills from her. Tyrell gets sassy and June notes he got his edge from her as well. She gets to the point and says there is good in her. The addiction is all hers as there is no family history on either side of the family. With that, June gets up to leave. Samantha says she has to be a good person to have given them up. She knows June kept a picture of them which meant a lot to her. Samantha heads over to a shelf and finds an updated picture of her and Tyrell for June, who is thrilled. Just then there's a knock at the door and June knows it's Naomi. She says she has to leave them again but wants them to know they have a mama who is proud of them. June heads over to Naomi and the two head out. Samantha and Tyrell head over to their parents for love and comfort. Previous Beyond The Gates Recap: Endings Martin and Smitty say how proud they were of their children today. Samantha is glad she came back and Tyrell agrees. They all agree closure is good and think June will be ok. June and Naomi returns to Orphey Gene's and reconnect with Jacob. June asks about getting a bed at a shelter and a job. Naomi is thrilled and they both agree to help June start building the next chapter of her life. When her kids need her, she wants to be ready and make them proud. Anita gets a call and is horrified to learn Leslie is telling the truth. She is Barbara's daughter. Anita says if Barbara had a baby she would have known and can't believe this is happening. Leslie says her mother is dead because of her. Anita says Barbara would be ashamed of her daughter. Leslie makes mention of the trust and Anita says it's only for Barbara's family. Leslie says her sister is gone and SHE is the only family Barbara has left. She wonders why Anita is bent out of shape as it's not coming out of her pocket but Anita says it is. Former Olympic champion Gable Steveson to make MMA debut at LFA 217
It's been talked about for so long, and now Gable Steveson's venture into mixed martial arts is officially happening. Steveson (0-0), a 2020 Olympic gold medalist in wrestling, will make his MMA debut against Braden Peterson (1-0) at LFA 217 on Sept. 12 from Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minn. The promotion announced the news Tuesday in a press release. Steveson's debut is a long time coming as the possibility of trying his hand at MMA has been discussed since winning his gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics (delayed until 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic). Instead of jumping straight into MMA, Steveson went the pro wrestling route and signed with WWE. His more than two-year stint with WWE ended in May 2024. Upon his release from WWE, Steveson, who'd never played football, was invited for an NFL tryout with the Buffalo Bills. Steveson got far into 2024 training camp but was cut as the team trimmed down to a final 53-man roster. Since then, Steveson has ramped up his MMA training. He spent time at Kill Cliff FC in Florida before he was invited by Jon Jones to help prepare the then-heavyweight champion for his title fight against Stipe Miocic last November at UFC 309. Steveson, 25, returned to compete in collegiate wrestling this year for the University of Minnesota. The two-time national champion, who'd won 73 consecutive matches, was denied a third title after he was shockingly upset on a last-second takedown by Oklahoma State's Wyatt Hendrickson. During a March appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" shortly after the loss, Steveson indicated a move to MMA was in his near future. He credited Jones for being a "great mentor" to him. "I've got a great mentor right now, I hope a lot of people know a guy named Jon Jones – just a fantastic dude and the greatest fighter of all time. He's pretty damn good," Steveson said. 'I appreciate his efforts of trying to lead me into the right direction and kind of taking my back and giving me the direction that I need. I'm really young, and he's been there and done that before, so I'm really appreciative of how he's kind of walked my steps leading into this next chapter, if that's what it is.'
