Meanwhile, multiple social media accounts have denied that Himanshi has been approached or will be joining the showAs soon as the report went viral, it obviously landed on Reddit, where the OP wrote, "This is not 'entertainment,' this is exploitation of trauma for TRPs. She deserves privacy, dignity, and support not to have her grief paraded on national TV for ratings."Reacting to it, one wrote, 'Then guess what...lets say her personality does not sit well with the viewers then no one will even sympathise with her and she would probably be cancelled.' Another added, ' This poor woman lost her husband and now they want to monetise her grief.'A third went on to add, 'Her privacy is in her hands though if she wants she can decline the offer to not show her grief to the world.'On April 22, 2025, the serene Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, was the site of a brutal attack when armed militants ambushed a group of around 40 tourists, separating men from women and children before opening fire. The assault claimed the lives of at least 26 individuals, including Indian Army Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, and injured more than 20 others.Following the tragedy, Lieutenant Narwal's widow, Himanshi Narwal, has emerged as a strong voice promoting peace and harmony, urging people not to blame Muslims or Kashmiris, and stressing that the attack was an act of terrorism, not a reflection of any community.

'In any serious nation ...': Opposition objects to Op Sindoor heroes on TV show; links it to India-Pakistan cricket match revenue

NEW DELHI: The opposition on Wednesday raised objections over the appearance of three officers involved in Operation Sindoor on a TV show for Independence Day special. Taking to X, Kerala Congress said that inviting Sofiya Qureshi, Vyomika Singh and Prerna Deosthalee to a TV quiz show would be unthinkable in any serious nation with a professional military. "Three officers of the Armed Forces will appear on Kaun Banega Crorepati, a private entertainment show, in full uniform, explaining to a Bollywood actor the planning of a military operation," the party said. "In any serious nation with a professional military, this would be unthinkable. But this is the spectacle of New India under Narendra Modi," it added. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi accused the TV network company of earning revenue from the upcoming India vs Pakistan cricket match in the Asia Cup, while also inviting the faces of Operation Sindoor to a quiz show. "Our heroic women in uniform who went on to become the face of Operation Sindoor have been invited by a private entertainment channel on their show. This private entertainment channel's parent company, Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), has also bagged the broadcasting rights of the Asia Cup till 2031," Chaturvedi wrote on X. "Yes, the very channel that seeks to earn revenue through India vs Pakistan cricket matches. Now join the dots," she added. A short teaser of the episode, which will be aired on August 15, was shared recently, showing the officers receiving a grand welcome from KBC host Amitabh Bachchan. In the promo, Colonel Qureshi was also seen explaining why Operation Sindoor, which India launched in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, was needed. "Pakistan has been carrying out such (terror) acts repeatedly. A response was necessary, and that's why Operation Sindoor was planned," she said.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD As per Kabir, CBFC suggested removing the line because they feared that it might upset Muslim viewers. 'I asked why and they said that Muslims won't like it," he recalled. 'I said 'Sir, what's my name? I don't mind it at all," said Kabir while speaking at the eighth edition of The Indian Express' Expresso. He believes that audiences are more open-minded than some of the 'gatekeepers" as they anticipate the backlash before it even happens. If the film still gets love, then it means that somewhere it hit home," he said adding, 'I feel it's the gatekeepers who sometimes draw these limits." 'I have grown up in a Delhi where 'Jai Shri Ram' was not a political salutation. It was used by everybody and I have been in Old Delhi where 'Jai Shri Ram' was like saying 'hello' and 'goodbye'," the filmmaker said. The director pushed back against the board's concerns and made sure the scene remains in the film the way it is written and shot. 'I fought for it. I stuck to it," quoted Kabir Khan. Recalling a screening, which he attended on Eid's opening day, where the cinema hall was packed with 'blue collar Muslim workers" and how they enjoyed the moments on the screen, Kabir shared, 'I get gooseflesh thinking of it now… the censors thought they will not like it. People loved that, people loved whatever we were showing in that film, the politics behind it." STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD
