
‘Shining Stars' inspires students in Anantapur: Collector
Speaking at the event, the Collector emphasized that these shining stars should serve as an inspiration for their peers, encouraging all students to develop a passion for learning. He highlighted that students from Anantapur district had secured top ranks in state-level exams and praised their perseverance, especially those who overcame hardships like the loss of parents.
He urged students to avoid distractions like mobile phones, stay physically active, and follow disciplined routines. He motivated them to dream big be it becoming software engineers, IAS or IPS officers, or CEOs and suggested that watching documentaries and following government updates on social media could be enriching.
MLA Paritala Sunitha appreciated Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister Nara Lokesh for initiating the Shining Stars programme.
She applauded the recognition given to students who scored exceptionally well in SSC and Intermediate exams, even under challenging circumstances. She encouraged girl students to compete equally with boys and strictly advised all students to stay away from mobile phone usage. A total of 184 SSC students and 35 Intermediate students were felicitated. The event concluded with a group photo and lunch with the Collector and MLA. Various education officials, corporation directors, and parents also attended the ceremony.

Har Ghar Tiranga walkathon in Delhi today: Check full route, diversions
The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for a 'Har Ghar Tiranga – 2025' walkathon scheduled on Thursday, August 14. Around 5,000 students will take part in the event, which will start from Kamla Market and conclude at Central Park in Connaught Place. Route of the walkathon The walkathon will pass through Hamdard Chowk, Round About Kamla Market, Minto Road, Ajmeri Gate Chowk, Bhavbhuti Marg, Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya RS Flyover, Press Cut, Tagore Road Red Light, Mata Sundari College, DDU Marg, Minto Road Light and will enter Connaught Circus. • Hamdard Chowk • Round about Kamla Market • Minto Road • Ajmeri Gate Chowk • Bhavbhuti Marg • RS Flyover • Tagore Road Red Light • Mata Sundri College • DDU Marg • Minto Road Light Heavy vehicles and buses will not be allowed on these routes during the event. TGICET-2025 admissions counselling schedule announced
Hyderabad: The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) has officially announced the counselling schedule for TGICET-2025 admissions following a meeting held today under the chairmanship of Prof. V. Balakista Reddy. The meeting was attended by key officials, including A. Sridevasena, Commissioner of Technical Education and Convenor of TGICET-2025 Admissions. The first phase of counselling begins with online filing of basic information, payment of the processing fee, and slot booking from August 20 to August 28. Certificate verification for candidates who have booked slots will be conducted from August 22 to August 29, excluding August 27. Candidates can exercise their options from August 25 to August 30, with the final freezing of options scheduled for August 30. Provisional allotment of seats will be announced on or before September 2, followed by tuition fee payment and self-reporting through the website from September 2 to September 5. The final phase of counselling is set to begin on September 8 for candidates who missed the first phase. Certificate verification will be held on September 9, and option entry will be open from September 9 to September 10. Freezing of options will take place on September 10, and seat allotment will be declared on or before September 13. Tuition fee payment and self-reporting will be conducted from September 13 to September 15, with reporting at allotted colleges scheduled for September 15 and 16. Spot admission guidelines for MBA and MCA private unaided colleges will be published on the official website by September 15. A detailed notification with candidate instructions will be available on the same portal from August 18.
