Shooting murder accused lay low in Paris with Uber Eats deliveries, court told
The 17-year-old youth, who cannot be identified, is accused of the murder of 18-year-old Keanu Harker in Enfield, north London, on June 26.
The victim was targeted as he rode a bicycle on Great Cambridge Road shortly after he left his home at 8.30pm on June 26, the Old Bailey heard.
He was allegedly approached by two males on an electric bike and shot three times to the head and torso.
Prosecutor Louise Oakley said it was the Crown's case that the defendant was the driver and a second youth, also aged 17, was the pillion passenger.
Police were called to reports of gunshots at 8.45pm and the victim taken to hospital where he later died.
Soon afterwards, the defendant allegedly boarded a Eurostar train to Paris where he was sent Uber Eats deliveries before he was identified by police, Ms Oakley said.
He was arrested in Paris on August 3 under an international warrant and returned to the UK.
He was subsequently charged with the murder of Mr Harker, possession of a firearm with intent to danger life and possession of a firearm.
On Tuesday, he appeared at the Old Bailey by video-link from Feltham Young Offender Institution.
Judge Anthony Leonard KC set a mention hearing for September 18 with a plea and case management hearing on October 7.
A provisional eight-week trial including two co-defendants has already been fixed for May 18 next year.
Remanding the youth into custody, Judge Leonard said: 'The defendant is charge with murder by shooting in the circumstances of a gang rivalry.
'The deceased was shot three times by two men on an e-bike. It is suggested this defendant was the driver and (the second youth) was the passenger.
'After the offence, the defendant made his way over to France and was subsequently found in Paris.'
Another 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on Sunday June 29 and charged with murder the next day.
A third defendant, Eliezer Mbike, 25, from Tottenham, north London, was charged with perverting the course of justice.

Aug. 19—ROCHESTER — A man who falsely told police he fired the gun at the scene of a fatal shooting was given six months in jail for giving a false statement to investigators. Jose Abraham Gutierrez Ojeda, 28, was sentenced in Olmsted County District Court Tuesday, Aug. 19, on a felony charge of aiding an offender. He admitted to telling police it was he, and not his brother, who shot and killed a man in a Chick-fil-A parking lot in Rochester in February 2024. Video and witness accounts confirm it was Isaac Gutierrez, Jose's brother, who fired the shot that killed Osbel Ornelas, 24, during a fight in the Chick-fil-A parking lot on South Broadway in Rochester on Feb. 3, 2024. Video shows Jose was the first to exit the car after the car he was in nearly struck the car Ornelas was driving. Jose displayed a pistol and later put the weapon back into the car and scuffled with Ornelas. Isaac then retrieved the firearm and shot Ornelas in the head. Jose pleaded guilty in February this year to the charge. Jose apologized to members of Ornelas' family, at least one of whom was in the courtroom Tuesday. "I can't imagine their loss," he said. "I don't find it to be an impulsive decision," Wallace said, noting that after the shooting Jose took the gun from Isaac and switched seats in the car with his brother before giving his false statement. "The fact that law enforcement figured it out is not attributable to the defendant," Wallace said. "It was because of the police work." Olson asked Wallace to lower the offense to a gross misdemeanor and not impose a prison sentence. Instead, Wallace imposed a 75-month sentence that will be stayed as long as Jose complies with terms of his probation. She ordered Jose to serve 90 days in jail beginning immediately with the possibility of work release and to serve another 90-day sentence beginning on the anniversary of the 2024 murder. Isaac was convicted by a jury of the murder and sentenced to five years in prison. The state is appealing the sentence arguing it's too lenient.

Rochester Police say suspect in custody related to weekend drive-by shooting
Aug. 19—ROCHESTER — Rochester police say a suspect is in custody related to a shooting in the northwest part of the city around 4 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. According to the Rochester Police Department, Dwight Campbell, 30, was taken into custody on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at about 10 a.m. He is being held on pending charges related to the shooting incident. One person was injured in the drive-by shooting Saturday on the 2300 block of 18 1/2 Ave Northwest. A man was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the shooting was not random and is under investigation.

Stone Mountain woman accused of drunkenly shooting man in leg, police say
A Georgia tourist, Crissy Wilburn, was arrested for shooting a man in the leg on Aug. 17 in Destin, Florida. The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office charged Wilburn, 42, of Stone Mountain, with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and use of a firearm while intoxicated. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. at 60 Crystal Beach Drive while Wilburn and the victim were loading their car to leave. Wilburn and the victim had reportedly been arguing over photos found on the victim's phone earlier that day.
