Sexual harassment at Durgavati varsity: CCTV footage ‘missing'
Bhopal: In a major twist in the case of alleged sexual harassment of a woman official of the Rani Durgavati Vishwa Vidyalaya (RDVV), Jabalpur, by its vice-chancellor, the inquiry committee constituted at the behest of the Madhya Pradesh high court was informed that the CCTV in the vice-chancellor's room was not working when the alleged incident took place.
Therefore, the footage of the incident could not be provided. Earlier, the court was told by the Jabalpur administration that the CCTV footage of the vice-chancellor's room when the alleged incident took place was "safe". Following the new revelation, the bench of Justice Vishal Mishra ordered a probe by forensic or technical experts on whether the CCTV in the vice-chancellor's room was working that day or not. It further asked the registrar of RDVV, Jabalpur, to state on oath why the CCTV footage of that day was not preserved. The State Women's Commission and the principal secretary of higher education had ordered a probe into the complaint of the woman official. However, when the probe didn't get underway, the woman moved the HC seeking direction that the inquiry be conducted into her allegation against the vice-chancellor.In her petition, she said that the vice-chancellor called her into his chamber to discuss an issue on Nov 21, 2024. Other subordinate officials were also summoned. She was the only woman among them. In the presence of them all, the vice-chancellor used objectionable language towards her and made obscene gestures. She asked for CCTV footage of the day and time when the incident took place, but it was not given to her. The court had asked that the CCTV footage of the day when the incident took place should be kept safe.Later, the higher education department constituted a five-member committee to hold an inquiry into the woman's complaint. In one of the earlier hearings of the case, the court was informed that the CCTV footage of the day and time when the alleged incident took place was safe.During the hearing of the petition earlier this week, the petitioner told the court that CCTV footage was not provided to the inquiry committee as the camera was not working that day and there was no footage available. Following the hearing, the judge directed the district collector of Jabalpur to get the CCTV and DVR examined by a forensic or technical expert to find out when the CCTV was installed in the vice-chancellor's room, when it developed a snag, and why it was not working on the day of the incident. The court further asked the registrar of RDVV, Jabalpur, to submit an affidavit explaining why the CCTV footage of that day was not preserved. Advocate Alok Bagrecha appeared in the case for the petitioner.

Who were Pandora Kjolsrud and Evan Clark? Arizona teens' shocking murders in remote forest shake hiking community
Two teens have been mysteriously found dead in a remote section of an Arizona national forest less than a week into their summer vacation. Cops are treating the shocking deaths of Pandora Kjolsrud, 18, and Evan Clark, 17, as 'suspicious,' the New York Post reported. Kjolsrud and Clark's bodies were found in the Tonto National Forest near Mount Ord on the morning of May 27. Maricopa County Sheriff's Office officials revealed that both of them suffered from fatal gunshot wounds. 'At this time, the circumstances surrounding their deaths are being treated as suspicious,' Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez said, according to Fox 10 Phoenix. Meanwhile, the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office has listed both the deaths as homicides. Kjolsrud and Clark, who attended Arcadia High School in Phoenix, were friends. Their school is located about 64 miles southwest of the national forest. Friends of the teen created a makeshift memorial near Mount Ord, where the two of them would often go to watch the sunset. 'You just cherish all the memories and the laughs,' Clark's coworker Iara Rosales said. 'His life was cut very short, and so was Pandora's. They were very young, and it was just so sudden and a tragedy that you wouldn't even imagine.' Two separate GoFundMe pages have been set up for Kjolsrud and Clark. Kjolsrud's GoFundMe describes her as someone with 'an infectious smile that brought joy to so many.' It adds. 'She was a beautiful human being and a bright light in this world who loved every single person she met and had a unique ability to make every person feel special. She loved music in all of its forms and enjoyed playing violin, cello and guitar. The outdoors is where she truly felt at home. She loved camping, horseback riding, kayaking and hiking with friends and family.' A statement from Clark's mother, Sandra Malibu Sweeney, was shared on his GoFundMe. 'This last week Evan was taken from me, and my level of grief feels insurmountable. I find myself at a complete loss to imagine a life without him. It is a small comfort to share some things about this boy who was on his way to becoming a wonderful man,' she said. Sweeney added, 'Evan wasn't a typical teenager. He was funny, bright, kind and entrepreneurial. He was an old soul who was sensitive and loving. Evan wrote me letters, the last of which he gave me on Mother's Day that was so touching it made me both laugh and cry. He was special. He deserved a long life.' Sweeney described her only child as a 'popular student' who attended Rancho Solano and 'enjoyed working at Crumbl Cookies, going to concerts, photography, cars and trips to Malibu, CA.' 'He then attended Veritas Prep where he made additional strong friendships and played on the football team. Evan spent his final school year at Arcadia High School where he flourished socially,' she added. The local hiking community is shaken by the shocking murders. The incident has raised questions on whether the remote national forest is safe. 'If there's something going on in the area. I'm here with my child. I'd like to know if we're safe,' one community member told Fox 10. 'Obviously respecting the people's families and not get into those personal details, but I would want to know how we can all be safe,' another said.

Daughter of infamous killer-cannibal says he tried to sell her soul to the devil
The daughter of Isakin Drabbad, Sweden's most notorious killer and cannibal, has sought to distance herself from her father's 'darkness'. Jamie-Lee Arrow, 23, has grown up under the shadow of her father's crimes - she was only 9 years old when Drabbad killed his girlfriend and ate parts of her body. Today, she sees a clear polarity between light and dark. She associates her father with the darkness and evil that she has tried to put behind. In many of her Instagram posts, Jamie-Lee has spoken about embracing love and light. In one of her most recent posts, shared on the occasion of Mother's Day, Jamie-Lee Arrow thanked her mother for helping her realise that she is not her father's darkness. Isakin Drabbad, born Isakin Jonsson, is infamously known as the "Skara Cannibal." In November 2010, he committed one of Sweden's most shocking crimes by murdering his girlfriend, Helle Christensen, in Skara. After slitting her throat, he decapitated her and consumed parts of her body, including cooking her flesh with salt and cannabis leaves. He later called the police to confess. Drabbad was committed to a mental health institution. A recent episode of the docuseries Evil Lives Here focussed on the Skara Cannibal and his daughter. When Drabbad committed his shocking crime, he had a nine-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. Jamie-Lee Arrow was close to Helle Christensen, looking upon her as a second mother. However, Drabbad and Christensen fought constantly. In her diary, Christensen once wrote: 'he talks about punishments, about all the evil.' Evil is also what Jamie-Lee has grown up to associate with her father. In her Mother's Day video, she said that her father tried to sell her soul to the devil as she thanked her mother for saving her. A post shared by Jamie-lee Arrow (@jamieleearrow) 'To me my mum means safety and love. I will never forget the night I came to my mum's after my dad tried to sell my soul to the devil and I thought I was losing my mind. 'I thought I was going insane. And she said to me, 'Jamie you can never be like him. Don't you know that you are love and light.' 'And that's when I opened my heart to her again. I felt safe for the first time in years. Thank you mum for reminding me that I'm love and light. I'm not my dad's darkness," said Jamie-Lee. The theme of light vs darkness crops up again and again on Jamie-Lee's Instagram account, where she posts regularly about her life with her two children. In one video, for example, she shared photographs of her father and wrote: 'He tried to keep me in his darkness, but I was always meant for the light.' 'I want people to understand the darkness I came from and that I actually managed to get myself out from under it. I still struggle with feeling like I am my own person and that my dad has got nothing to do with who I am,' she told People ahead of the release of Evil Lives Here.
