Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed, on Monday, the government's commitment to ensuring the budget includes its priorities in implementing its schedules.
The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received the head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Atwan Sayed Hassan al-Atwani."
"During the meeting, the latest preparations for the 2025 budget schedules were reviewed, as well as the mechanisms and plans to ensure the financing of salaries and expenditures, according to sectors and activities during the current year."
According to the statement, al-Sudani affirmed "the government's commitment to ensuring the budget includes its priorities in implementing its schedules, in order to complete the items of the government program, particularly those related to providing services and completing projects, to achieve the aspirations of citizens in all Iraqi governorates."

The Iraqi prime minister also noted Iraq's continuing support to help Lebanon overcome current obstacles. Aoun expressed appreciation for Iraq's attitudes toward Lebanon, particularly in light of the terrible conditions that the Lebanese people face. The Lebanese president lauded Iraq's role in strengthening Lebanon's ability to face diverse difficulties, its support for Lebanon's stability, and its efforts to broaden cooperation to benefit the people of both countries.

According to a Shafaq News survey, prices in Baghdad's wholesale markets on Al-Nahr Street registered a selling price for a 21-carat per mithqal (equivalent to 4.25 grams) of Gulf, Turkish, and European gold of 653,000 IQD, and a buying price of 649,000 IQD—down from 658,000 IQD recorded Saturday. Iraqi 21-carat gold was selling for 623,000 IQD per mithqal and buying for 619,000 IQD. In local jewelry shops, the price of a 21-carat mithqal of Gulf gold ranged between 655,000 and 666,000 IQD, while the price of Iraqi gold ranged from 625,000 to 635,000 IQD.

At a joint press conference, al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq's support for Lebanon's sovereignty, unity, and stability, pledging to advocate for the country during Iraq's presidency of the Arab League, and rejected the ongoing Israeli violations of Lebanese territory. 'Iraq contributed $20M to the Arab Fund for Lebanon's reconstruction,' he added. Al-Sudani also welcomed the formation of Lebanon's new government as a crucial step toward restoring political order, identifying energy, telecommunications, trade, and private-sector development as 'opportunities that can serve both.' Aoun further condemned Israel's ongoing military campaign on Gaza as 'inhumane' and called on the international community to act. 'What is happening in Gaza is unacceptable. The global community must intervene immediately.' Earlier today, the Lebanese president arrived at the Iraqi capital at the invitation of Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid. He is scheduled to meet with Rashid to discuss bilateral ties, regional developments, and ways to bolster cooperation between the two countries.
