The upcoming Malayalam film Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies officially began shooting on Tuesday. Touted as a WWE-inspired action-comedy entertainer, the film stars Arjun Ashokan in the lead, alongside Roshan Mathew, Marcoactor Ishan Shoukath, and Vishak Nair in pivotal roles.
Set in the gritty, vibrant world of Fort Kochi, Chatha Pacha revolves around the lives of individuals who find themselves immersed in an underground WWE-style wrestling club. The film promises a high-energy narrative laced with action, comedy, and drama, under the direction of debutant filmmaker Adhvaith Nayar.
One of the biggest highlights of the project is that it marks the Malayalam debut of the celebrated music composer trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, who will be composing the songs. The background score will be handled by Kishkindha Kaandamfame Mujeeb Majeed.
The technical team includes cinematographer Anend C Chandran, editor Praveen Prabhakar, and action choreographer Kalai Kingson. Adhvaith Nayar also conceptualises the story, while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Sanoop Thykoodam.
According to the makers, the film will also feature well-known actors from other Indian film industries, further enhancing its pan-Indian appeal. Chatha Pacha is being produced by Ritesh S Ramakrishnan and Shihan Shoukath under the Reel World Entertainment banner, with George Sebastian and Sunil Singh (from Mammootty Kampany) onboard as executive and line producers, respectively.
Chatha Pacha is slated for release towards the end of the year and is expected to bring a fresh blend of action and humour to Malayalam cinema, set against the unique backdrop of underground wrestling.

WWE SmackDown results: Alexa Bliss steals victory from Charlotte Flair to reach Queen of the Ring semi-final

Alexa Bliss is moving on to the Queen of the Ring semi-final, and she did it in dramatic fashion. On the June 13 episode of WWE SmackDown at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Bliss pinned Candice LeRae to grab the win, right in front of Charlotte Flair, who had the match under control just seconds before. The match originally featured Charlotte Flair, Candice LeRae, Alexa Bliss, and Chelsea Green, but before the bell, Green was replaced by Alba Fyre. All four women got their moments, and the match quickly turned into a chaotic showcase of counters, near falls, and broken pins. Flair looked dominant at several points. She landed her signature chops, a Natural Selection, and even locked in the Figure Eight on Bliss. But Candice LeRae broke it up with a perfectly-timed Quebrada. Then Alba Fyre nearly stole the match with a KLR Bomb before Bliss landed a DDT on her to stay alive. Alexa Bliss outsmarts Flair as tensions boil over .@AlexaBliss_WWE is heading to the Queen of the Ring Semifinals! 🔥#SmackDown The real story, though, was between Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. For weeks now, the two have been caught in a cold rivalry. It began when Bliss proposed teaming up, only for Flair to turn her down. Since then, things have only heated up. Bliss went on to win her Money in the Bank qualifier, while Charlotte failed to qualify in a different match where Giulia punched her ticket instead. During this fatal four-way, Flair looked set to finally get a win. She had Alba Fyre locked in a Figure Eight, who looked just seconds away from making her tap. But Bliss saw her chance and made her move. With Charlotte busy holding the submission, Bliss hit the Sister Abigail DDT on Candice and stole the pin before Flair could react. Bliss now moves into the semi-final of the Queen of the Ring tournament, but the bigger story may be what happens next between her and Charlotte. Flair looked stunned after the finish, and the way Bliss smirked at her on the way out said it all. This rivalry has taken a very personal turn, and fans are already asking, Where is it headed? Whatever comes next, Alexa Bliss is now just one step away from a shot at the crown. And if she meets Charlotte soon, the stakes will be much higher.

'Kathanar The Wild Sorcerer': to Aadu 3': 3D Wave in Mollywood

Mollywood is embracing 3D technology, with filmmakers exploring its potential beyond fantasy genres. 'Aadu 3' is venturing into 3D, showcasing this shift. Jonita Doda highlights the immersive experience of India's first 3D romantic film, 'Salmon 3D,' while Tovino Thomas acknowledges the challenges of 3D filming, emphasizing that content remains paramount, regardless of the format. (Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Watching a movie in 3D is always an immersive experience, despite some critics. Coming to Mollywood, the industry seems to be shifting its gears to a new realm, and the most basic one would be 3D movies. Let's take a look at the 3D wave happening in the Malayalam film industry. 'Aadu' venturing into 3D Jayasurya and Midhun Manuel Thomas' hit series 'Aadu 3' is reportedly in 3D format. This shows how the Malayalam filmmakers are pushing the boundaries of 3D by not only limiting it to fantasy or fictional movies. Director Midhun Manuel Thomas surely would have seen the scope of storytelling via 3D, enhancing the theatrical experience; otherwise, a talented scriptwriter and filmmaker like him wouldn't be opting for such a format. (Picture Courtesy: Facebook) 'It adds a new dimension to the cinematic experience' - Jonita Doda In an exclusive conversation with the actress Jonita Doda, who has been part of India's first-ever romantic 3D film 'Salmon 3D' revealed that it adds a whole new theatrical experience. Talking to ETimes, the 'Salmon 3D' actress said, 'The USP of our film lies in two key aspects. Firstly, it is India's first-ever romantic 3D stereoscopic film, which adds a whole new dimension to the cinematic experience. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Scam Exposed: What They Won't Tell You about zero trust! Salmon 3D - Official Malayalam Trailer (Picture Courtesy: Facebook) 'Shooting with 3D cameras is a very tough thing to do' - Tovino Thomas Now let's move on to the production part of a 3D film. In a conversation with Mid Day, the 'ARM' actor Tovino Thomas said that shooting a movie in 3D is quite challenging. He said, 'Shooting with 3D cameras is a very tough thing to do. It takes more time and effort.' Coming to 'ARM', what the makers did was 3D conversion rather than shooting in 3D camera. He said, ''People won't be able to tell whether we shot it with 3D cameras or converted it later, because the technology has come so far. We already have clear guidelines on how to shoot for 3D conversion — there's a specific approach to follow, and our cinematographer was fully aware of that from the start.' Do all films require 3D? Well, the answer would be a clear NO! While 3D may enhance the theatre-viewing experience, not all stories are perfect that way. There may be several sequences added just for the sake of creating that 3D visual, and this would serve no purpose to the actual storyline. For a movie like 'My Dear Kuttichathan', 3D experience is well worth it. But if one were to pick a 3D format for a film like 'Drishyam', it would be a complete no and would feel complete injustice towards the content of the movie, unless there are some genuine reasons for adding 3D elements (hopefully there won't be any). Coming to the upcoming Jayasurya starrer 'Kathanar The Wild Sorcerer', it's quite sure that the 3D elements will work as everyone knows the storyline and how it can be perfectly suited for a 3D experience. Shooting in 3D or not, as we always say, the content of a movie matters.

This was the fallout episode of WWE Money in the Bank, which kicked off to a huge start, featured multiple King and Queen of the Ring tournament opening round matches, and ended with a blockbuster main event with Cody Rhodes emerging victorious. Opening segment with John Cena — WWE (@WWE) John Cena came out to open the show and spoke about his tactics on his farewell tour, which had been a success, and gave everything he wanted. He even took shots at his upcoming Night of Champions opponent, CM Punk. This led to the arrival of Cody Rhodes, who reminded Cena that he pinned him at Money in the Bank PLE. Furthermore, Randy Orton returned for the first time since losing to Cena at WWE Backlash PLE, followed by LA Knight. Cena chose to leave the ring, but R-Truth attacked him on the entrance ramp. Randy Orton vs Aleister Black vs Carmelo Hayes vs LA Knight This was the first Fatal 4-Way match in the opening round of the King of the Ring tournament. The match was highly spectacular to witness as all four competitors brought different styles to the bout, with high stakes involved. As the ending approached, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker attacked LA Knight. Carmelo Hayes tried to take advantage with a top rope move, but landed in an RKO by Orton on top of LA Knight, who pinned him for the win and will now face Sami Zayn in the semi-finals match. Jade Cargill vs Nia Jax vs Michin vs Piper Niven This was the first Fatal 4-Way match in the opening round of the Queen of the Ring tournament. The match was an exciting in-ring showdown, with temporary alliances also forming during the match. John Cena's segment with CM Punk John Cena came out in anger to confront R-Truth, who had attacked him earlier. Instead, CM Punk came out and berated Cena in his classic style. He accused him of trying to be like him and promised to save wrestling that he is trying to ruin. As he left, Cena was once again attacked by Truth from behind and locked in the STF as Punk watched. Charlotte Flair vs Alexa Bliss vs Candice LeRae vs Alba Fyre This was the first Fatal 4-Way match in the opening round of the Queen of the Ring tournament. Originally, Chelsea Green was supposed to be in the match. However, she could not make it to the show, and Nick Aldis put Alba Fyre in the match.
