Mishicot High School teacher arrested for alleged sexual assault offenses involving students
MISHICOT, Wis. (WFRV) – A teacher and coach from Mishicot High School was arrested on multiple charges of sexual assault for alleged incidents involving students.
On Wednesday, April 16, 36-year-old Ryan Scott Schroeder of Francis Creek was arrested after an investigation into reports of alleged inappropriate behavior with students, deputies with the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office said in a release Thursday.
Deputies noted that Schroeder is a physical education teacher and coach at Mishicot High School.

Schroeder was taken into custody due to evidence deputies and officers with the Mishicot Police Department obtained during the investigation.
Investigators stated that the alleged conduct is believed to have happened over an 'extended period of time,' and the Mishicot School District has been working closely with the Sheriff's Office and Police Department during the investigation.
Schroeder is being held at the Manitowoc County Jail on the following charges:
Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child
Repeated Sexual Assault of the Same Child
Sexual Assault of a Child by School Staff
Possession of Child Pornography
Child Enticement

Deputies are hoping to identify any additional victims or witnesses who are willing to come forward after Schroeder's arrest.

The investigation revealed that Rocha-Mejia and Antonio are illegally in the United States. The convictions stem from a sexual assault of Elia Antonio's daughter on March 18, 2024. Antonio gave her daughter to Rocha-Mejia to be sexually assaulted for approximately $250. Rocha-Mejia held the child in a van and attempted to duct-tape her as he began to sexually assault her. The defendant's DNA and the survivor's DNA were found on duct tape located in the van. Rocha-Mejia faces up to 40 years of initial confinement. A Louisiana father was charged with second-degree murder after allegedly leaving his 21-month-old daughter inside a hot car for more than nine hours. Joseph Boatman, 32, of Hammond, was arrested Sunday after the child died outside a home in Madisonville, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office. "Detectives with the STPSO Major Crimes Unit have learned that Boatman had strapped the toddler in her car seat inside the vehicle after picking her up from a family member's residence shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday," police said. HOWARD, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Howard say police will now be conducting special enforcement patrols of children riding electric bicycles, citing 'ongoing complaints' as the reason why.
