Marks and Spencer has a soft spot in our hearts, and has fast become my go-to shopping destination – and not just for the new picky bits or sweet treats, like Yum Nuts or the pistachio bar.
In recent years M&S has expanded its fashion collection with ultra stylish pieces, across M&S own brands, as well as other retailers stocked online.
Truth be told, I used to associate M&S with the older generation my grandparents used to shop at, but it's long ditched that stereotype, and as a 30-something year-old woman I'm proud to say I shop at M&S all the time – and get compliments on the high quality products that look premium.
I own many M&S dresses, but I have been on a hunt for a pink bridesmaids dress ahead of my best friend's wedding. However, I also want the dress to see me through the summer months and holidays to come.
Turns out I'm not the only one searching for Marks and Spencer's Pink Dress, as Google searches for 'Marks and Spencer Pink Dress' are reportedly up 180% this month.
One dress I am desperately waiting to launch is M&S' Pink Midi Dress, which is available to shop in select stores, but shoppers have to wait a little longer to shop the new drop online.
This design features a boat neck and short sleeves that skim the top of the shoulder. These features are combined with a floaty midi skirt, so this dress is a nod to retro 50s dresses. The belt detail makes this dress stand out, as it can be tied tight, or worn loosely around the waist. BUY SOON FOR £45
The Pink Midi Dress is sleeveless and features a boat neckline, which is ultra flattering. The dress hugs the body before it floats out into a mid-length skirt. The most interesting detail is the belted middle, which features silver loop holes to add an extra dimension to the dress. More Trending
The cut of the dress is reminiscent of 50s dresses, but the belt detail adds a modern twist IT also makes this dress easy to accessorise with silver shoes and accessories.
While it's unknown when the belted Pink Midi Dress will launch online remains to be seen, but we know it will fetch £45 when it does drop.
In the meantime, there are a few other pink dresses on M&S we are eyeballing, such as Pure Cotton Pintuck Midi Tiered Dress that costs £55 and is the perfect dress for daytime, the office and holidays. While the Textured Strappy Midi Cami Relaxed Dress, which fetches £29.50, is a versatile dress to suit all occasions.

The popular reality series has been plagued by scandals in recent years after Giovanni Pernice, 34, found himself at the heart of a bullying scandal following a series of allegations made by former dance partner Amanda Abbington. Meanwhile, Graziano Di Prima, 30, also left Strictly after allegations of 'physical incidents' during his training with Zara McDermott, 28. Now, Spanish dancer Márquez has revealed he will be unable to compete despite being previously being part of the official line up back in April. He said he will be able to take part in the first few weeks of Strictly but will then have to leave in October. To find out more about this series, Metro has taken a deeper look at Strictly Come Dancing 2025. Fans can expect to see their favourite professional dancers return for the upcoming series. But replacing the outgoing Di Prima and Pernice will be Alexis Warr and Julian Caillonwhen the show returns this autumn. Warr, 25, is best known for winning the US dance series So You Think You Can Dance in 2022. She also became the first female ballroom and Latin dancer to be crowned America's Favourite Dancer. Professionals confirmed to be returning to the BBC show in the upcoming season include: Dianne Buswell Nadiya Bychkova Amy Dowden Karen Hauer Katya Jones Neil Jones Nikita Kuzmin Gorka Marquez Luba Mushtuk Jowita Przystal Johannes Radebe Aljaž Škorjanec Kai Widdrington Nancy Xu Carlos Gu Lauren Oakley Michelle Tsiakkas Vito Coppola It isn't her first shimmy with Strictly as the dancer appeared on the US version of the show as a guest professional dancer, and has also appeared on Dancing With The Stars, America's Got Talent, and World of Dance. Speaking about joining the show, Warr said she has 'admired Strictly for years.' 'Joining this incredible family is such an honour,' she continued. 'I can't wait to step into the ballroom, pour my heart into every moment, and share my love of dance with the UK.' Caillon appeared on three seasons of Australia's Dancing With The Stars and also starred in So You Think You Can Dance Australia. Alongside his dance career, he has also worked as a personal trainer and exercise physiologist. He said that joining the show was 'a dream come true.' 'I've watched it for years, especially cheering on all the amazing dancers I know and work with who've been part of it,' he said in a statement. I can't wait to get stuck in, have some fun, and be part of something special!' Marquez, who has become one of the most loved professionals on the show, will not be able to compete despite being previously announced as part of the official line up back in April. The dancer revealed he will be totally absent for up to four weeks as the show is set to launch in September because he is appearing as a judge on the Spanish version of the competition, Bailando Con Las Estrellas, in October. The 34-year-old said he will remain a part of the weekly ensemble routine, performed by all of the professionals, in the first few episodes. However, he will then be leaving to film in Spain before returning to the weekly dance group in the final stretch. Taking to X, Marquez wrote: 'Due to the filming dates, this means that I won't be competing with a partner this year in Strictly but I will be a part of lots of the group numbers and will be back for final weeks of the show to support the rest of my fellow pros and their celebrities in what is going to be an AMAZING SERIES.' Discussing Alexis and Callion, Sarah James, executive producer at BBC Studios, said: 'We've been big fans of Alexis and Julian for some time so it's with great excitement that we now welcome them both to the Strictly family. 'They're two incredible dancers with bright futures ahead of them, and we know viewers are going to love getting to know them both.' Additionally, Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment, said the duo were 'perfect additions' to the cast. More Trending 'Alexis and Julian are the perfect additions to Strictly, and we can't wait for you to see them light up the ballroom this autumn,' she said. The ‘three-hour night' rule could be a gamechanger for your relationship

Coming home from work, you kiss your partner hello, crash out on the sofa until you muster the energy to cook dinner, and then mindlessly watch TV until it's time for bed. Repeating this same routine on a cycle, you might realise at the end of most evenings together that you've barely caught up with one another. It's doing little for your connection. For one woman, the so-called 'three-hour night' rule is the antidote to this modern-day relationship dilemma – and it's been a complete 'gamechanger' for her marriage. Rachel Higgins and her husband decided that it was time to curate a new evening routine when they realised that after putting their daughter to bed at around 7pm, they would typically sit on the sofa and scroll on their phones. Splitting the remaining three hours of the day into three sections, Rachel explains in a TikTok that the first is a 'productive hour.' 'We start with a quick clean up of the kitchen or things that have accumulated throughout the day, and then we try to do something that's been put off,' she tells her 21,000 followers. Next, it's an hour dedicated solely to their marriage. The key element of this is putting their phones 'down and away' and spending quality time together. This involves things like 'taking a shower together, having fun together, playing a game together, anything that's going to get you guys talking and connecting, debriefing from the day. Anything that's going to connect, strengthen and build your marriage.' X Factor icon Diana Vickers and Metro's dating expert Alice Giddings dive into your wildest sex, love, and dating dilemmas – every Tuesday. Listen wherever you get your podcasts or watch on YouTube. And be sure to follow and subscribe so you never miss an episode. You can also join the fun on our WhatsApp Group Chat here – share your dilemmas and Diana and Alice may just give you a call. Finally, the last hour is one to spend completely by yourself, whether for self-care or otherwise – an element that's often forgotten in relationships. 'This is a time where you can do whatever you want for yourself without judgment. I'm usually reading a book or colouring,' Rachel adds. In the comments, countless followers – many of them also being parents – applauded the approach, with @rachyd6 likening it to a 'closing shift.' @JWoCATX95 reckoned it was equally beneficial for 'us empty nesters too, [as] the phone scrolling is outta control,' while @katiedemasi came up with her own approach, as though she couldn't commit to three hours, she loved the idea of trying 30-30-30. 'I feel like that hour to myself would have to be first on that list. I'd need to decompress before being productive or having fun with my husband lol,' @savagetheoriginal joked. As relationship expert Claire Renier explains, it can take us back down to earth amid the chaos of the modern world, whether you have children or not. Technology is all-encompassing, phubbing can swallow up communication in relationships, and all the while, the dishes piling up don't help to diffuse any tension. In fact, one 2025 study found that 1 in 10 Brits have actually broken up with a partner because they felt third-wheeled by their phone. The impact almost doubles for Gen Z, at 19% of 16-24-year-olds. It's not always just about household tasks not getting done either, but about the 'emotional weight of feeling unsupported or overwhelmed' – which is where the three-hour rule comes in. 'It can be incredibly tempting to just sit down and scroll at the end of a long day, no matter how much you wanted to dedicate time to other things such as self-care or even time together with your partner,' Claire tells Metro. 'With this in mind, creating a structured plan or routine can help you prioritise different important elements. Carving out dedicated time for productive things like household chores or life admin, time together, and self-care can really help things feel more manageable.' Being so intentional about dividing your time can also help to strengthen your communication skills, reduce friction and allow all partners to be more present, and in Claire's view, this only 'rebalances both your schedules and emotional connection.' However, Claire does emphasise the importance of flexibility, particularly if you've got children. Sometimes, dedicating exactly one hour to each phase of the activity isn't feasible – and in her view, a little bit of room for movement is a 'cornerstone of all relationships.' 'I'd recommend adapting the rule to fit your circumstances – whether this is spending an equal but reduced amount of time for each section or alternating how long you spend on each activity each evening to match your needs that day,' she adds. And while spending quality time together gathers headlines in a relationship, sometimes, the most important thing you can do in allowing it to blossom is taking intentional time out for self-care. More Trending As Claire says, all relationship dynamics are different, but it can be difficult to 'feel entirely present or even happy in a relationship if you haven't had the time just to focus on yourself.' She advises: 'Keeping aside specific moments of time to look after yourself and do the things that you enjoy as an individual can help you to feel happier and more refreshed – which can also help you put your best foot forward to be present in your relationship.' 'It's also all too easy for quality time with your partner to slip down the priority list. By actively blocking out moments for each other, you are sending a clear signal that your connection matters. 'Taking husband's surname has left me the butt of jokes but I wouldn't change it'

Laura Wood from Stockport was unsure about whether or not she wanted to take her now-husband's Danny's surname when they got married after her friends had mocked her possible name for years A bride has gone viral and left people cracking up after taking her husband's unusual surname, which has left some people asking if it's actually real. ‌ Laura Wood tied the knot with her husband in July 2025, after 14 years together. The couple first met at university in Preston and have been inseparable ever since. Like many future brides, Laura was left facing a decision that she had to make ahead of their big day. The topic of whether or not to take her husband 's had left Laura the butt of jokes among friends for years as Danny's surname meant she'd become Mrs Laura Large. ‌ For the years while Laura was dating Danny, her friends had joked for years about double-barrelled alternatives such as 'Large-Wood' or 'Wood-Large'. At the time, Laura was working a 9-to-5 graphic design job and worried that signing off emails as 'Laura Large' might not be taken seriously. ‌ Now self-employed as a nail technician and living in Stockport, the 32-year-old rarely uses her full name. When the day came to make a decision, she saw no reason not to embrace her new and unique name. 'I used to find the idea of taking his name quite funny,' Laura told What's The Jam. 'It felt surreal because us getting married was a way off, so it just felt like a joke."'I'm only 4ft 11in, which makes the Large name funnier," she added. ‌ She went on to say: "When we did get married, I wasn't sure if I was going to change it on social media, but I thought, sod it, I'll do it for the plot." The couple got engaged in 2021 on their 10-year anniversary during a staycation in Bath. On the big day on 4 July, the pair celebrated their ceremony at Stockport Town Hall before hiring a big red vintage bus to take 70 guests to Manchester city Laura later posted a video on TikTok revealing her new surname, the clip went viral – with 34,000 people reacting to it. Among the 1,400 comments were some people who said it reminded them of The Large Family, a popular children's book series by Jill Murphy featuring a family of elephants. And the commenters weren't the only ones who had made the connection as Laura's sister gifted her the books on the morning of her wedding. While it's becoming more popular for husbands to take their wives' names after getting married, Laura explained that this hadn't really been something they'd wanted to do. She said: "When we were looking at all the options, Danny said he really likes his surname. And he's the only boy in his family, so he wanted to carry the name on. I also knew we wanted to have the same name for our kids." Although she admits 'Laura Large' still doesn't feel just right yet, the name is growing on who recently launched the podcast, Nails and Yap, said: 'I'm quite headstrong, and if I didn't want the name, I wouldn't have taken it. I haven't felt any pressure to do it. "It feels nice having the same name – it's like having a connection and makes us feel closer."
