The partnership of LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the Los Angeles Lakers may not have been as fruitful as it should've been, but it did yield an NBA championship in 2020. By all accounts, the two got along very well as Lakers teammates and still have some type of connection six months after the trade that sent Davis to the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic to L.A.
Both Davis and Doncic have apparently moved on from the initial shock of being involved in that completely unexpected and seismic deal. While James may not be the happiest camper as a result, most expect him to remain a member of the Lakers this coming season despite the trade rumors that have surrounded him this summer.
Both James and Davis shared the same quote on Instagram, and it has people talking and speculating.
The quote both superstars posted is a personal development nugget that is commonly interpreted as saying that in the journey to maximizing one's potential and accomplishing one's dreams, some people have to be left behind in order for one to grow. Sometimes, it could mean leaving behind close friends one had a fantastic relationship with, as such relationships can sometimes run their course.
While some may think this means James wants to be traded to the Mavericks in order to reunite with Davis, the simplest explanation for the twin posts is that the two miss playing together.
