Clemson, Brad Brownell agree to extension through 2031
The Clemson board of trustees has approved men's basketball coach Brad Brownell's new six-year contract extension through the 2030-31 season.
Financial terms were not disclosed in Friday's announcement, however The State reported it was worth a total of $27.5 million. Brownell's total salary will be $4 million in 2025-26 and $5 million by 2029-30.
"I remain honored and grateful to have led this program for 15 years and for the opportunity to continue to coach and develop young people in both basketball and life at Clemson," Brownell said. "I'm appreciative of the support from (athletic director) Graham Neff, President Jim Clements and our administration to continue to build upon our successes in basketball -- on and off the court. I'm proud of the continuity of my staff and the critical role they play in winning, player development and recruiting."
After taking the program to the Elite Eight in 2024, Brownell was rewarded last July with an extension through the 2028-29 season. This deal will replace that one.
Brownell, 56, made $3.5 million this past season, with the number growing by $250,000 every year thereafter.
He is the program's winningest coach with a 292-196 record since 2010. This season's team set school records for overall wins (27) and ACC regular-season victories (18).
The Tigers made their fifth NCAA Tournament under Brownell's guidance.
Also Friday, Clemson announced basketball associate head coach Billy Donlon and assistants Sean Dixon and Dick Bender received new contracts through 2026-27.

Pop Isaacs (Creighton/Texas Tech) and Jacari Lane (North Alabama) are serious bucket-getters in the backcourt, while Rylan Griffen (Kansas/Alabama) and Mackenzie Mgbako (Indiana) can pop it from the wing." "The question will be whether the roster is deep enough for McMillan to employ the breakneck pace and deep rotation that defines "Buckyball." But his first wave is certainly not hurting for SEC-caliber talent, and the early June addition of 22-year old Spanish shooter Ruben Dominguez helps alleviate that concern." Ahead of his first season with Maryland, Buzz Williams' 2025 roster received a B+, while new Texas coach Arch Miller received the same grade. Dodd is 100% correct in questioning if A&M's roster is deep enough to master McMillan's intense system, but the shooting is there, and he still has two roster spots available to reach the 15-player roster maximum. The right-handed grad student was the only reliever to earn first team honors for the Midwest region after registering nine saves in 2025. McDonough was No. 79 on the midseason Top 100 relievers list released by and was on the NCBWA midseason watch list for the Stopper of the Year award. McDonough finished the year 2-1 with a 1.65 ERA in 20 appearances for the Fighting Irish. He struck out 28 while walking 10 in 32.2 innings, and he allowed just six earned runs. Two Lowcountry natives returning to coach basketball at The Citadel
Courtesy of The Citadel Athletics CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel Head Men's Basketball Coach Ed Conroy is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrew Glover and Brady Schuck as assistant coaches. Conroy, entering the fourth season of this second stint with the Bulldogs, welcomes these two accomplished coaches to the staff, bringing a variety of experiences, local ties and a passion for student-athlete development. 'We feel fortunate that we were able to attract and hire Andrew and Brady as they will be terrific coaches to our staff,' said Conroy. 'I have known them both for a long time and watched them progress throughout their careers. Andrew and Brady are the perfect additions to help us keep building our program to the level we all want for The Citadel basketball.' Glover, a Charleston native and Wando High School alumnus, joins The Citadel after spending the past season as the head coach at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C., where he led his squad to a conference championship and Elite Eight finish while earning Conference Coach of the Year honors. Prior to Myers Park, Glover spent four years as the inaugural Head Boy's Basketball Coach at Lucy Beckham High School, leading the team to the Elite Eight in 2022-23 and Sweet Sixteen in 2023-24, earning Coach of the Year honors along the way. A captain of Wando's 2014 State Championship team, he has a proven track record of success and deep roots in the Lowcountry. Glover's coaching journey includes experience at both the college and high school levels. He spent two seasons as an assistant coach at USC Aiken, contributing to player development and game strategy. Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach on state championship teams in 2018 and 2019 at Grey Collegiate Academy. As a player, Glover competed at USC Aiken, Spartanburg Methodist and Hargrave Military Academy. 'I'm honored and grateful for the opportunity to join The Citadel basketball program,' said Glover. 'As a Charleston native, it means the world to me to be able to represent my hometown and be a part of a program built on discipline, tradition and respect. I want to sincerely thank Coach Conroy for trusting me and welcoming me to his staff. I'm excited to get to work with our student-athletes and our staff, helping to build something special.' Schuck, another Charleston native, brings a wealth of basketball knowledge and leadership to The Citadel. He spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Flagler College, being a part of two winning seasons with the Saints, including a 20-win campaign in 2023-24 that culminated in trip to the Peach Belt Conference Championship game. He broke into the collegiate coaching ranks after two successful seasons as the head coach at James Island Charter School, leading the Trojans to the Sweet Sixteen in 2023 and Region Championship in 2024, earning Region Coach of the Year honors in the process. Schuck played four seasons at Furman University and was a member of the Paladins 2016-17 SoCon Championship team. 'I'm grateful and excited for the opportunity to become an assistant coach at such a prestigious institution as The Citadel,' said Schuck. 'I'm excited to work with a great group of student-athletes and learn from Coach Conroy, someone I have a profound respect for.
