Walsall boss Mat Sadler was proud of his League Two side.
'I thought we were so, so good tonight. I have to be so proud of our lads,' he said.
'I think there's been loads of these times we've had. I think back to Birmingham, Exeter and Huddersfield and many more in the last two years. Tonight was another one of those.
'I can be so proud of the players after that performance and the shift the players put in.'

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have guided the Red Dragons to remarkable success over the past four years following three consecutive promotions. The pair of actors have transformed the Welsh side from National League also-rans into a Championship outfit with dreams of Premier League football on the horizon. But the owner of National League outfit Truro City has now insisted their ascent is "bigger" and "more special" than Wrexham 's. Canadian entrepreneur Eric Perez assumed control of the club in November 2023 as part of the Ontario Inc consortium. Truro clinched the National League South crown in April this year during the new ownership's maiden full campaign at the club. By doing so, they became the first Cornish side to secure promotion to non-league's highest division, with Perez believing that makes their achievements more significant than Wrexham's. "I think what we're doing is even more special than what they've done," Perez told BBC Radio Cornwall. "There are, at the end of the day, five league clubs from Wales. There's only one club in Cornwall that's even close to the Football League. If we could get there, it would be something that would change Cornwall forever. "It would weave a patch into the cultural tapestry of a place that has been alive and vibrant for 3,000 years. To be able to do something like that is, to me, what life is all about, so I actually feel like this is bigger than Wrexham could ever be." Alongside securing triumph on the field, Perez and Truro's other backers have been working hard to enhance the club's facilities. A new stadium was constructed on the city's outskirts approximately 12 months ago to stage the side's fixtures, with additional development occurring this summer. In contrast to Reynolds and Mac, Perez brings prior expertise in managing sporting organisations, having previously owned Cornwall's rugby league outfit and maintained connections with Toronto Wolfpack. Whilst Wrexham's remarkable rise may have captured King Charles's interest, prompting his visit to the Racecourse Ground in December 2022, Truro boast their own royal fan. Perez said: "It's just been such a journey. I remember when we first took over the club and we set out some goals, no-one really paid attention. I think everyone's paying attention now, because we are really on the cusp of something huge here playing our first home National League match. "It's been a super hectic off-season. First of all, we've had a stadium renovation that we've done, building a new main stand to accommodate what is now the requirements for this league. Then obviously transitioning the club from hybrid to full-time professional, that's been massive." Whether Truro can emulate Wrexham's success is yet to be seen. Northern Ireland forward hopes League One switch will ignite international career: ‘I just want to get as many caps as I can'
Northern Ireland forward Dale Taylor has revealed that his move from Nottingham Forest to Blackpool was motivated by his ambition to earn more caps for his county. The striker quit the Premier League club to sign a four-year deal at Bloomfield Road for fee believed to be north of £1m. The League One star has earned nine caps for Northern Ireland, making his senior debut in 2021. He explained: 'It's a big factor in my move. 'It all comes down to how well you are playing for your football club. Getting the call-up for Northern Ireland is massive. There's no better feeling than playing for your country - I've said it plenty of times. 'A boy from Belfast playing for Northern Ireland at Windsor Park is unbelievable - there's no better feeling than that. 'I'm young. I'm inexperienced but experienced at the same time. I just want to get as many caps as I can.' Several League One clubs were keen to land Taylor after a successful loan stint with Wigan Athletic in the division last term. He said: 'There were a few clubs in there, and Blackpool were one of them. I spoke to the manager (Steve Bruce) and some of my friends, and they all had good things to say about this club and where it's going, so that made it really easy. 'When people speak good about the club, it just stands out. Steve Bruce is a great manager and everything he's done in his career is unbelievable, so it gave me that hunger to work under him. I can't wait to get going and to improve. 'I'm here to do the best I can for the club, myself, my teammates, and the fans. I've been around League One for a couple of years now on loan, and I've really enjoyed it. Every loan got better and improved. 'The goal here is to aim to get to the Championship and get promoted. That's every player's aim, the manager and the staff - hopefully we can do that.' Taylor made his Blackpool debut during Tuesday night's 1-0 loss to Port Vale in the Carabao Cup. He will hope to make his league debut on Saturday when the Seasiders host Huddersfield Town.

DONCASTER can anchor a better than 12/1 League One treble with Stockport and Huddersfield with a win over Wycombe at 11/8 but I'm heading to League Two for a home win to anchor the top five Acca and it's CREWE who get the vote to beat Crawley at 4/5. The Railwaymen had been chugging along nicely before finding my headline bet Stockport too good midweek and the table-toppers are back in their comfort zone against a relegated Crawley side with no points and just a single goal from their first two league games. I've gone with HEARTS, MORTON, KILMARNOCK and LIVINGSTON in our featured Premier Sports Cup matches this weekend and ignoring the supposed Rangers/Alloa mismatch, I could see Partick against Ayr going into extra-time at 21/10 tomorrow. Scott Brown's visitors were hugely disappointing at home to Raith Rovers last Saturday and a similar lack of fire-power from Mark Wilson's Jags against Morton points to a tight encounter. The fifth team I want to be with in 90 minutes though is MOTHERWELL who head to in-form St Johnstone at what could be a huge value 13/10 after successive stalemates against Rangers and St Mirren. The Steelmen could easily have won both of those games to sit joint top of the Premiership and while St Johnstone cantered through the group stage before beating Partick and Ross County in the Championship, I can see Motherwell winning this one comfortably. The opening Premier League weekend sees Manchester United hosting Arsenal in the main TV match on Sunday afternoon but my toe in the water won't happen until Monday when EVERTON could prove too strong for Leeds at Elland Road at 19/10. The Championship moves into its second weekend with the clubs having also had some midweek Carabao Cup action and I reckon troubled SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY might be excellent single value at 11/4 at home to Stoke. Wrexham and West Brom can share the points in tomorrow's early kick-off at 11/5 and the same outcome can pay a 5/2 dividend in the Sunday lunchtime kick-off between Ipswich and Southampton. Saturday SINGLE STENHOUSEMUIR landed the bet at 2/1 last week and I'm going to wait for LIVINGSTON to reward punters at the same price Sunday. WEEKEND ACCA Four aways is a tall order but I reckon there's some value on the road this week and all 5 teams winning pays out at 52/1. Stockport 29/20 Huddersfield 11/8 Crewe 4/5 Hearts 6/5 Motherwell 13/10 ST MIRREN V HEARTS Saints were probably the happier side with the goalless draw at home to Motherwell last week but Stephen Robinson will have sharpened them up and Hearts may need two goals to win. Defender Miguel Freckleton should be more comfortable after that debut and Keanu Baccus should be reacquainted with Robinson's methods but Hearts have made an excellent start and look good for progression. Extra-time wouldn't be an outrageous suggestion at 5/2 but Lawrence Shankland is leading the way for a Hearts side in rampant scoring form and 6/5 in 90 minutes gets the vote. MORTON V ABERDEEN Morton fans were raging about a controversial Partick penalty last week but the 21/10 draw was the selection on this page and Dougie Imrie's side could give Aberdeen plenty of problems. Eamonn Brophy and Ali Crawford bring bags of cup-tie experience to the Greenock side and even Aberdeen's biggest fans sound fully aware that the Scottish Cup honeymoon period is over. Jimmy Thelin's side are no value at all at 1/2 and while the 3/1 draw's been attracting money all week, home advantage could be a massive help to Morton causing a 9/2 shock in 90 minutes. LIVINGSTON V HIBERNIAN Sunday 3pm I tipped Livingston to beat Falkirk last week at 13/8 and Davie Martindale's players will have been happy to see Hibs taken all the way by Partizan Belgrade on Thursday night. Scenes at Easter Road as Hibs players celebrate with fans after thrilling Partizan win Hibs can be backed at 13/10 to get past the Lions in 90 minutes and there's no doubt this is a trophy opportunity for the Easter Road side but Livi have scored 11 times in 3 games on their new surface and have been suitably underestimated. A second period of extra-time in 3 days for Hibs is priced up at 9/4 but Livingston are 2/1 to maintain their own excellent start tp the season and that's the bet. KILMARNOCK V DUNDEE UTD Sunday 3pm Jim Goodwin's players couldn't get the job done from 2-0 up at home and 4-2 ahead on aggregate against Austria Vienna and it's asking a lot to bounce back away from home at Kilmarnock. Stuart Kettlewell's side have lost a 2-0 lead at home to Livingston and come back from 2-0 down away to Hibs and this could be a serious chance of cup progression against a shattered United. The visitors are 21/10 with more extra-time at 5/2 but Killie's Easter Road heroics should entice a big Sunday crowd and 21/20 seems fair.
