High expectations and famous name, Texas QB Arch Manning has a lot to live up to
The media attention has been almost crushing since Manning got on campus, but it has really ramped up now that he's the starter. How Manning will do. Will he be as good as Eli? Will he be as good as Peyton? Where he will go in next year's NFL Draft? Even though he hasn't declared any intentions past this season.
Even his own family adds to that attention. Recently, Manning's grandfather Archie told Texas Monthly Arch would stay in school two more years. "I don't know where he got that from," Arch Manning said after practice on Tuesday. "He texted me and apologized about that, but I'm really just taking it day by day right now."
The hype has gotten so intense, even columnists are apologizing to Manning.
"Let me be the first to apologize to Arch for all of this nonsense. For the hype and the hyperbole, for Las Vegas and the Heisman odds, for failure is not an option, for putting the horse before winning a road game as an SEC starting quarterback." - Matt Hayes of USA TODAY Sports
Can Manning handle it all? He seems built for it, but the attention is unprecedented.

Steelers CB Jalen Ramsey gets ridiculous penalty on sloppy opening drive
The Pittsburgh Steelers have rested most of their top defenders for the first two games of the preseason. But on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers, head coach Mike Tomlin inexplicably decided to trot out several starters for their first action of the season. One of those defensive starters is cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Unfortunately, Ramsey's debut with the Steelers wasn't what the fans had hoped for. Ramsey got a little overzealous as they came up to make a play on Panthers running back Trevor Etienne. Ramsey initially made a great play, holding Etienne to a three-yard loss. However, Ramsey took it too far and ended up getting flagged for unnecessary roughness and turning a three-yard loss into a 15-yard penalty. Carolina went down the field and ended up getting a field goal on the drive to take the early lead. The Steelers made a trade with the Miami Dolphins to bring Ramsey to the team. Pittsburgh then gave Ramsey a 4-year, $84,700,000 contract. The Steelers have placed high expectations on Ramsey to lead this secondary and get this defense over the playoff hump.
