Junior Edwards, a beloved figure from History Channel's Swamp People, has passed away. His grandson, "Lil" Willie Edwards, confirmed the news on Facebook.
Junior Edwards, a beloved figure from the long-running History Channel series Swamp People, has passed away, leaving fans and fellow cast members heartbroken. His death was confirmed by his grandson, 'Lil" Willie Edwards, in an emotional Facebook post shared on July 26.
'Rest easy pawpaw…. I know you're probably running your hoop nets or doing something crazy inside those pearly gates… You will be extremely missed pawpaw. We love you more than anything!!! Until we meet again," Willie wrote.
Although the cause of death has not been officially revealed, Junior Edwards had reportedly been battling health complications in recent weeks. Earlier this month, his grandson had shared a concerning update on social media, writing, 'Well guys, those of you that don't know… my grandpa has been dealing with some health issues. Y'all keep him in y'all's thoughts and prayers please… we need a miracle. Get better for us papa, we love you!!!"
Ashley 'Deadeye" Jones, another familiar face on the show, also paid tribute to Edwards through an Instagram post. 'The world lost a legend! Mr. Junior Edwards passed away! Please be in prayer for the family! He was one of the greatest alligator hunters there is!" she wrote, recalling moments they shared in Pierre Part, Louisiana. 'Glad we took a second for a pic!"
Junior Edwards rose to fame with Swamp People, which debuted in 2010. A skilled and seasoned alligator hunter from the Atchafalaya Basin, he quickly became one of the standout personalities of the show. He appeared regularly from Season 1 through Season 6, often alongside his son, Willie, and grandson. He briefly returned in 2021 during Season 12, surprising fans with the announcement: 'Surprise… look who's back."
Apart from his television fame, Edwards ran a commercial fishing business, dedicating his life to Louisiana's bayou traditions both on and off camera. While his age and the date of his passing remain undisclosed, the mark he left on fans and the hunting community is undeniable.
May his soul rest in peace!

Travis Hunter divorce row: Why fans think Jaguars star's wife is unhappy and why its not true

Rumors about the Jacksonville Jaguars star, Travis Hunter, and his wife, Leanna, have spread on social media. Fans are speculating that the latter is 'unhappy' and is filing for divorce. However, none of this is true. In fact, the couple has added a new member to their family, a pet dog. Rumors about Travis Hunter and Leanna Lee spread on social media(Instagram) The Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver, who was the No 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, married Leanna in May. The two had announced their engagement last year. "You make me the happiest woman on this planet and I am so excited to spend forever with you," Leanna wrote on Instagram back then. Travis Hunter divorce rumors Several fans on social media posted about Leanna wanting a divorce from Travis. However, she herself has not spoken about anything. The rumors are simply untrue. 'Travis Hunter's wife of less than a year has filed for divorce — reportedly seeking $40M. The rookie WR is set to make just over that amount on his entire rookie contract, meaning the split could wipe out nearly all his NFL earnings before his first full season,' a person claimed on X, platform formerly known as Twitter. What fuelled the divorce rumors Days ago, Leanna Lee posted a video on TikTok in which she was seen crying. The clip went viral. "If they break the marriage within a year he can file annulment and it's like the marriage never happened. File annulment now king," one person wrote on X. "Divorce lawyers waiting…," another person wrote. Why was Leanna Lee crying? The video was from December. In the video, Hunter's wife could be seen standing in a bathroom with her wet hair wrapped in a towel. She reposted the video recently. "I wish I could go back and hug December me, because oh baby, God was about to change your heart in the most important and beautiful way," she wrote. "I don't even recognize the girl anymore." "The amount you can grown and develop in just 6 months of devoting your life to Jesus and getting away from the shackles of the world and social media is truly astounding. I wish the peace I found within Jesus on everyone who reads this," she added. "Your identity in him matters, not how people choose to perceive you."

War 2 Box Office Day 2: Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR Film Crosses Rs 100 Crore Mark

Last Updated: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's War 2 crosses Rs 100 crore in two days, beating Rajinikanth's Coolie on day 2 with Rs 55.79 crore earnings. War 2 Box Office Day 2: After a decent start on day 1, Ayan Mukerji's War 2 showed solid growth on its second day at the box office, benefiting from the Independence Day holiday. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the big-budget action entertainer added Rs 55.79 crore on Friday, August 15, taking its India net total to Rs 107.29 crore in just two days. The film's recovery has silenced early doubts after trade analysts criticized its 'subpar" opening of Rs 52.25 crore. With strong audience pull, War 2 now finds itself competing head-to-head with Rajinikanth's Coolie, which stands at Rs 109.8 crore after two days. War 2 Box Office Collection Day 2 On its first day, War 2 collected Rs 29 crore in Hindi and Rs 23.25 crore in Telugu, totaling Rs 52.25 crore. While this would normally be celebrated, expectations were sky-high considering the star power of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Many felt the film should have touched Rs 75 crore or even Rs 100 crore on opening day, surpassing the Rs 53 crore debut of War (2019). However, War 2 managed an impressive rebound on day 2, adding Rs 55.79 crore. Crucially, it outperformed Coolie on the same day, which earned Rs 44.8 crore. This shift places War 2 firmly back in the race and makes the coming weekend crucial for both blockbusters. About War 2 and the YRF Spy Universe Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is a pivotal entry in Yash Raj Films' expanding Spy Universe, which already includes Tiger films and Pathaan. The post-credits sequence teases the introduction of Bobby Deol in Alpha, the next chapter of the franchise starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Apart from Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, War 2 features Kiara Advani and Ashutosh Rana in key roles. With a reported budget of over Rs 300 crore, the film will need sustained collections to secure box office success. Despite mixed reviews, the star power of its lead actors and Spyverse branding are driving audiences to theatres. If War 2 maintains momentum over the weekend, it could emerge as one of the biggest films of the year. view comments First Published: August 16, 2025, 05:20 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
