This new gaming headset is aimed at elite-level of gamers but its design is sufficiently flexible design to make it suitable for most genres and types of gameplay. It's been meticulously designed with long gaming sessions in mind and much of the inspiration for the headset came out of extensive feedback from the Logitech G gaming community.
For example, the ear cups now have a wider shape and include an extra layer of memory foam that boosts the cushioning and cooling effect of the ear pads. The pads are also upholstered in a new type of fabric that feels soft but is exceptionally durable.
The headset's reversible suspension band now sits flat and spreads more evenly across the wearer's head. The designers have added ridges to increase its breathability and the headband is made from premium materials for extra durability. To make it comfortable to wear all day, Logitech decided to carry out extensive research for the fit , testing it out on gamers including those who wear glasses or earrings.
The Logitech G LIGHTSPEED G522 is availble in Midnight Black and Off White colorways.
At the heart of the new headset are synchronized PRO-G drivers that can deliver high-fidelity sound thanks to 48kHz/24-bit digital signal processing that creates the impression of total immersion. The drivers are sensitive enought to reveal subtle in-game cues like distant footsteps or the sound of a weapon being reloaded.
Because communication is vital during elite-level gaming competitions, the G522 has a 48kHz/16-bit microphone with BLUE VO!CE technology to provide extra clarity. The microphone can be customized using real-time filters and effects, producing a suitable sound for any occasion.
The G522 has a choice of three connectivity modes that offer seamless switching between them. There is Lightspeed wireless, Bluetooth and wired USB-C options. The headset has also been designed for making easy transitions between a range of gaming platforms, including PCs, consoles and mobiles. What's more, there's no lag when switching.
Thanks to the G HUB software and Logitech G's mobile app, gamers can also fine-tune their audio using a 10-band EQ. They can also personalize Lightsync RGB, adjust the microphone settings and then save up to three custom profiles directly into the headset.
The new Logitech G522 Gaming Headset is available now in Midnight Black and Off White from LogitechG.com and select retailers worldwide. The suggested retail price is $179 / £139.99 / €169.

Switch 2 Scalpers Are Auctioning Off Their Preorders to the Highest Bidder
People hoping to score Nintendo's new console this week are finding them on resale websites—at several hundred dollars over the retail price of $450. The Nintendo Switch 2 Courtesy of Nintendo Nintendo's Switch 2 launch is underway worldwide. The console officially releases June 5, meaning buyers in territories in earlier time zones have already gotten their hands on it. As midnight rolls across North America, players here will do the same. Many fans preordered their Switch 2, allowing them to skip the in-person lines planned for midnight sales at retail stores. Others are currently bidding on consoles being sold by scalpers. Sellers on sites like eBay and Mercari have created their own ecosystem of preorder sales, capitalizing on fears that the ongoing tariff drama and possible stock shortages will make the Switch 2 scarce. The console, which retails at $450, is selling for several hundred dollars more on the resale sites. One listing, which promises to ship June 6, is selling for $849 or 'best offer.' Other listings are actively being bid on. On Mercari, consoles are selling in the $600 range and above. There are good reasons for people to be anxious. Nintendo has a history of supply shortages, including with the Switch 2's predecessor; in Japan, the company has already warned customers that demand may exceed supply. Nintendo prepared for the possibility of scalping ahead of the game console's preorder period; buyers who wanted a unit directly from their stores could only purchase one system per account and had to meet specific requirements, including 50 hours of playtime on their Switch account. Buyers who wanted to snatch more than one Switch could still place multiple orders through other retailers, like Amazon or Walmart. According to online message boards, some did; others confessed to buying from scalpers after failing to find their own. 'I have no shame,' wrote a user on the GameFaqs forum. 'Roughly 700.00 [USD]. Including priority air next day shipping…no Mario Kart bundle. I couldn't wait any longer.' Reached by WIRED, Nintendo would not immediately comment. Earlier this month, the company announced that it would be working with Mercari, Yahoo Auctions, Yahoo Fleamarket, and Rakuten Rakuma to remove listings and ban users—but only in Japan. Crackdowns on the resale sites will begin June 5 as part of a probationary period. It's unclear if these measures will be implemented in other regions. The global market may also yet have a part to play. Nintendo made the unprecedented move of temporarily delaying preorders after the console's in-person unveiling, following extreme tariff announcements made by President Donald Trump. Although the price of the console itself hasn't been impacted—for now—many accessories are now more expensive than previously announced. As even older game consoles grow more expensive, it's not impossible that the Switch 2's price will increase after launch. Still, buyers turning to secondhand sellers may be left Switchless after all, due to preorder delays and cancellations. Earlier this week, some retailers were reportedly canceling preorders due to system errors or stock shortages.

Next-Gen Shelby GT500 Looks Menacing in New Spy Shots
Since the debut of the S650 Mustang in 2023, we've been waiting for a hardcore Shelby model. Rumors of the high-performance muscle car have been circulating for years, but nothing's been made official. That'll likely change soon, judging by these spy photos of a seemingly complete Shelby GT500 mule captured driving around Michigan. Our spy photographer managed to snag some detailed photos of this camouflaged GT500 prototype stalking around on the street ahead of a reveal likely to take place later this year. The front fascia wears a thick layer of netting and tarp to conceal changes to the front end, though we can see wider openings for the upper and lower grilles, as well as some outer bulges on the hood. Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography The rear end is more of the same, with a makeshift blanket covering the bumper, and polka-dot camouflage on the fenders and trunk lid. The thin quad-exhaust pipes are clearly not production ready, while the wing looks to be lifted straight from the lesser Mustang GT . The wheels and tires are the most fascinating part of this tester. Look closely, and you'll see the tires measure 305/30ZR20 up front and 315/30ZR20 in the rear—coincidentally, these are the same exact sizes found on the last-generation GT500. The tires themselves are Pirelli P Zero Rs with "Prototype Use Only" text on the sidewalls. Unlike the last GT500 prototype we saw, this one isn't using carbon fiber wheels, but more traditional alloys. In all likelihood, this wheel and tire setup will likely be the base offering for the upcoming GT500, with a carbon fiber wheel and stickier tire offered as the sportier option. Photo by: KGP Photography There's no official word on what sort of engine will power the next GT500, but we have a pretty good idea of what to expect, thanks to a leaked union memo from the Dearborn engine plant in Michigan. The document, whose contents were confirmed by the Detroit Free Press through internal sources, showed plans to produce an engine nicknamed "Legend." The plant currently builds the supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 found in the Raptor R. That same motor powered the last GT500 , making 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque. So it makes sense for the factory to supply the next car's engine, too. Power is still a question mark, though we wouldn't be surprised to see the next GT500 make over 800 hp, possibly matching the track-ready Mustang GTD . Judging by how ready-for-production this prototype looks, we probably won't have to wait much longer to find out.
