Denver Restaurant Week celebrates 21 years
The next 10 days are a great time to discover a Denver restaurant to make your favorite.
State of play: Denver Restaurant Week begins Friday and goes through March 16 with chefs across the city offering multi-course menus at special prices to lure you in the door.
Meals range from $25 to $55 and reservations are expected to go quickly.
The big picture: The annual celebration of Denver's restaurant scene comes at a precarious time for the industry, with closures mounting by the day and a loud fight at the state Capitol about how to remedy the situation.
Dig in: To generate a little inspiration, we combed through the menus and picked our standouts for the week:
John: The approachable atmosphere and food at Dio Mio in RiNo make it an easy pick for a weeknight meal, and the white chicken ragu with sage and fried prosciutto sounds like a treat.
Alayna: RiNo's lively Magna Kainan is offering a three-course meal showcasing refined, wood-fired Filipino comfort food. I'm eyeing the sinigang — a tamarind broth brimming with mussels — and the bibingka, a rice cake with smoked gouda and salted egg caramel.
Esteban: The food at Champagne Tiger pairs nicely with the upscale cocktail lounge vibe at this relatively new East Colfax restaurant and bar. I'd go with the maitake mushroom linguine.

CM Punk makes John Cena's WWE title reign interesting by delivering the Truth
John Cena was pissed off after Ron Killings attacked him in the opening segment of tonight's (June 13) SmackDown, so he called R-Truth out for a fight later in the night. John was instead greeted by 'Cult of Personality' and CM Punk. After dismissing Cena's claim that he's a hypocrite (for challenging John for the belt in Saudi Arabia at Night of Champions), Punk said he was there to make another John Cena title reign interesting again, just like the good old days. He proceeded to do just that by ripping into Cena on the mic and telling the truth. The truth really hurts, because Ron Killings once again attacked Cena from behind. This time he even locked John in his own STFU submission hold. GM Nick Aldis was fed up with all of Killings' interruptions during the night and granted a him a match with Cena next week. Just like that, Punk and Killings really did find a way to make Cena's underwhelming WWE title reign interesting. Catch up on all the results from SmackDown in our live blog right here.
