Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain: Khaleeji Bank, one of the leading Islamic banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has arranged an educational field visit to the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) for participants of its Banking Gateway Program, as well as university students under its annual Internship Program for the year 2025. This initiative aims to provide a comprehensive training experience that combines theoretical and practical knowledge.
During the visit, CBB officials welcomed the trainees and provided an overview of the bank's vital role in maintaining financial and currency stability within the Kingdom, which includes reserve management and stability measures. The students also toured the Currency Museum and received briefings from staff across various departments, gaining insights into the daily operations of the bank.
This initiative aligns with Khaleeji's commitment to nurturing young national talent and preparing them to enter the labour market. By incorporating field visits into its training programs, the bank aims to deepen participants' practical knowledge of Bahrain's financial infrastructure while developing their professional skills. The participants have expressed appreciation for this valuable initiative, affirming that it enriched their training experience and broadened their understanding of banking operations at the national level.

Regional collaboration, he added, is a cornerstone for strengthening technological readiness and unifying efforts toward a sustainable digital future that keeps pace with rapid developments and fulfils the aspirations of two workshops aimed to enhance participants' capabilities by providing best practices in identifying and evaluating AI use cases, understanding the factors that make AI implementation a success story, and equipping them with practical models and global examples that can be applied to provide optimal recommendations for various workshops addressed several key topics, most notably: the role of AI agents; practical, government-related use cases; understanding the nature of AI agents; learning how they operate; assessing the feasibility of replacing or supporting human-like roles with AI agents; and envisioning how AI agents function in its launch, the UAE Artificial Intelligence Camp has witnessed strong engagement and broad participation from all segments of society, attracting more than 34,000 participants from various educational levels and academic backgrounds to its diverse activities, training workshops, and discussion sessions. These initiatives aimed to develop participants' skills using the latest technological solutions and innovations, covering seven main themes: the future of artificial intelligence; data science and machine learning; smart applications in education, healthcare, and the financial sector; web and robotics development; AI governance and ethics; cybersecurity; and virtual and augmented reality.

CBB opens applications for its first graduate development program 'GP15'

Manama, Bahrain: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has announced that registration is now open for the first edition of its Graduate Development Program 'GP15.' The initiative supports the CBB's ongoing commitment to empowering Bahraini youth, in line with its priorities to foster innovation, digital transformation, and build a skilled, future-ready workforce. The program targets Bahrainis who have graduated from local and international universities within the last two years with a Bachelor's degree in any specialization, and a minimum GPA of 3.25. As part of the first edition of the program, 15 candidates will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation process including an aptitude test and interviews, to ensure the participants are the best fit for the program. Selected graduates will take part in a six-month internship opportunity, where they will work across various functions within the CBB, and engage in practical workplace simulations. Participants will also attend workshops and site visits aimed at strengthening their analytical skills, financial literacy, and understanding of banking strategies. Commenting on the occasion, Mrs. Fatema Mohamed Ali, Director of Human Resources at CBB and Program Manager, said: 'We encourage ambitious Bahraini graduates to take advantage of this opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop their careers in the financial services sector. Air Arabia records AED 415mn net profit in Q2 2025

Air Arabia has reported a net profit of AED 415 million for the second quarter ending June 30, 2025, 3 per cent lower than the AED 427 million recorded in the same period last year. The airline achieved a turnover of AED 1.69 billion, marking a 2 per cent increase year-on-year. Between April and June, more than 5.1 million passengers travelled with Air Arabia Group across its hubs, a 15 per cent rise compared to 4.5 million passengers in the same quarter of 2024. The average seat load factor reached 85 per cent, up 6 per cent from the previous year. Air Arabia expands routes, adds fleet Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Thani, Chairman of Air Arabia, said: 'The strong performance recorded during the second quarter of this year reflects the resilience of our business model and the effective execution of our growth strategy. Despite escalating geopolitical tensions and regional conflict witnessed during this period, which disrupted operations and led to flight cancellations, we responded to these exceptional circumstances with agility and efficiency. We continued to invest in expanding operational capacity across all hubs, achieving a record seat load factor driven by strong and sustained demand for air travel.' In the first half of 2025, Air Arabia reported a net profit of AED 770 million, up 11 per cent from AED 693 million in the first half of 2024. Turnover for the same period rose 8 per cent to AED 3.44 billion, compared to AED 3.19 billion last year. Passenger numbers reached over AED 10.1 million, a 13 per cent increase, with an average seat load factor of 84 per cent. Al Thani added: 'In the first half of the year, Air Arabia launched new routes, increased flight frequencies in key markets, and added aircraft to the fleet, enhancing our network, capacity, and customer offering. This growth came despite ongoing industry challenges such as political instability in some markets, fuel price volatility, currency fluctuations, and supply chain constraints. Our ability to expand in such conditions reflects the strength of our business model and the capability of our management team.' 'As we look ahead to the remainder of 2025, our focus remains on expanding connectivity, serving new markets, and further enhancing operational efficiency and innovation. We remain committed to delivering exceptional value to our customers while creating sustainable growth and long-term returns for our shareholders,' he concluded. During the first half, Air Arabia added two aircraft to its Airbus A320 and A321 fleet, bringing the total to 83. The airline has 120 new aircraft on order with Airbus, with deliveries expected to begin by the end of 2025. The network grew with 13 new routes across the UAE, Morocco, Egypt, and Pakistan.
