No power, broken toilets: MARA approves RM1.15m for Kubang Pasu MRSM repairs after parents complain (VIDEO)
Its chairman, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said, RM800,000 was allocated for the upgrade of equipment for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning, and that repairs would include upgrades to furniture in the academic block, waterproofing, courtyards, walkways and recreational areas as well as sports courts.
'RM180,000 is allocated for maintenance of the dormitories and student facilities, ceilings, toilets, closets, water tanks, food court and pest control as well as a UPS Server system costing RM50,000.
'Also, RM70,000 is allocated for electrical maintenance and basic amenities and RM50,000 for the maintenance of teachers' quarters,' he posted on Facebook yesterday.
He said he had visited Kubang Pasu MRSM today and ensured immediate action would be taken after receiving a lot of social media comments from parents urging him to visit the junior college, as well as feedback on the lack of electricity supply and damaged facilities in the dormitories.
He stressed that the junior college management should expedite the repairs for the comfort of students and teachers, adding that MARA's senior management would continue to monitor to ensure all approved projects would truly benefit the Kubang Pasu MRSM's students and staff. — Bernama

The deceased was recovered by Adi Presetyo from the waters about four kilometers away from the shore of Pengambengan Village, Negara Subdistrict, Jembrana District, Bali, a local government official said. Rescue team then evacuated the deceased to a command post in Pabuahan Hamlet, Banyubiru Village, Negara Subdistrict, Acting Head of the Jembrana Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) I Putu Agus Artana Putra said. "The recovered body had been transported to the Blambangan Public Hospital in Banyuwangi District, East Java, for identification," he said. This followed an earlier three-day extension, which ended on July 11. Deputy for Search and Rescue Operations and Preparedness at the agency, Ribut Eko Suyanto, said earlier that his office would reevaluate whether another extension of the search period is necessary later. As of Friday evening, the 10th day of search operations, the death toll from the ferry mishap stood at 17, with 30 survivors and 18 people still missing. The Tunu Pratama Jaya roll-on/roll-off ferry was carrying 53 passengers, 12 crew members, and 22 vehicles when it departed Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi, East Java, at 10.56 pm local time on July 2, 2025. The vessel sank en route to Gilimanuk Port in Bali at around 11.35 pm local time on the same day. Photo of 'B-2' over Saratok sparks speculation, but CAAM says no such flight
KUALA LUMPUR: There is no record of any flight resembling a stealth bomber over Saratok, Sarawak, following viral claims of a sighting, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) said. Its chief executive officer Datuk Captain Norazman Mahmud said no application or clearance had been granted for such an aircraft in the area. "However, there is drone activity in the Saratok and Pantu areas, for which a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued," he told the New Straits Times. It was reported that images circulated online appeared to show the silhouette of an aircraft some likened to the American B-2 Spirit. The photo, taken near a longhouse in Saratok, has sparked speculation on the r/Malaysia subreddit as to whether a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber was seen flying over the area. The B-2 Spirit is a long-range, heavy stealth bomber developed by Northrop Grumman for the United States Air Force. Designed to penetrate dense anti-aircraft defences, the aircraft is capable of delivering both conventional and nuclear weapons. Its distinctive flying-wing design and radar-absorbing materials make it difficult to detect by radar, giving it a significant advantage in modern warfare. Introduced in the 1990s, the B-2 remains one of the most advanced and expensive military aircraft ever built, with only 21 units produced. It has been deployed in multiple combat operations, including in Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, typically flying from bases in the United States to targets across the globe.
