NI actor to become latest Rovers landlord as he joins Coronation Street
Coronation Street's famous Rovers Return Inn will have a new family running the pub – with a Northern Irish actor set to be pulling pints as the establishment's latest landlord.
Aaron McCusker – known for his roles in TV shows Shameless and Hope Street and starring in the blockbuster Bohemian Rhapsody – will join the long-running soap as Ben Driscoll, the partner of Catherine Tyldesley's character Eva Price, who was last seen on the show in 2018.

From a demonstration from Unfair Advantage performer Harry Milas, a card magician who has been kicked out of the world's best casinos, to the Remarkable Ben Hart, who got me to assist him with a rope trick, my cynical hack's mind has been blown. The Remarkable Ben Hart However, poor Ben has a problem: his rope supplier has shut down. A chandlers near London's Covent Garden, it actually called the product - a standard issue boat rope - 'magicians' rope' due to his long history with customers including not only Ben, but some of his colleagues. Any suggestions for a new magic rope supplier for Ben, do let me know. The Bonnie Bonnie Banks Performer Frisky, aka Laura Corcoran, had a couple of culturally awkward moments in her fabulous show Frisky's Reshuffle on Sunday night, when an audience member requested a Scottish classic. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Having already performed Bohemian Rhapsody in the style of folk and Like a Virgin in the genre of thrash metal and also reggae - when she was forced to explain that she did not feel her own cultural heritage qualified her to perform in the required accent - the incredibly talented 'matriarch of twisted cabaret' asked for a suggestion of another song. Assembly Festival 'Loch Lomond,' shouted an audience member, as the genre of rave was selected on stage. 'I'm very aware I'm in the land of the Scottish ancestral people and may get chased out with pitchforks,' she said, before requesting that the audience sing her a quick chorus to get her in the mood. Doppelganger It has been a week of mistaken identity for festivals PR Matthew Shelley, who has a terrifyingly identical doppelganger performing a show at the Fringe. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad I have twice mistaken said gentleman for Matt in the past week, the first time thinking he was intentionally blanking me as I waved enthusiastically at him across a Fringe bar. On the second occasion, I actually spoke directly to him and he spoke back - but with an American accent, which revealed to me immediately that it was most definitely not Matthew. The doppelganger still somehow responded to the name of Matthew, however, resulting in a lengthy chat where I had to pretend that I knew who he actually was. Awkward. Matthew tells me he has also doubled for Liam Gallagher in a series of press shots this week, confusing things even further - the latest installation in what turns out to be an even more colourful modelling career than I had realised.

The 34-year-old A-lister bared his impressively chiseled torso as he stripped down to white swim trunks to cool off in the ocean. Patrick Kielty's family tell of sad moment they knew Cat Deeley marriage was over

More info The family of Patrick Kielty are believed to have pinpointed the moment his marriage to Cat Deeley was over, and it's a revelation that has reportedly left them fuming. Last month, the television pair released a joint statement confirming their separation. They stated: "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved, reports the Mirror. "We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment." Despite the seemingly amicable announcement, it's reported that an action by This Morning presenter Cat, 48, deeply upset 54 year old Patrick's family. Cat's absence at the funeral of Patrick's mother Mary in March is said to have angered the Kielty clan, and they believe this incident signalled the end of the couple's relationship. A family member told the Daily Mail: "Whatever rockiness was going on in the marriage, something as momentous as his mother's funeral, you would makeup even temporarily and just put your 'best face' on as we say in Northern Ireland." "Cat obviously knew how close Patrick was to Mary and she should have come to be by his side, a hand on his shoulder as he buried his mother. The fact that she stayed in London and presented This Morning on the day, it's not been forgotten." And the source maintained people remain stunned by Cat's behaviour, stating: "It was the point when we all realised that that marriage had ended." A spokesperson told Mirror at the time: "Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day." Patrick's relatives are now reportedly supporting the broadcaster as he processes what lies ahead. The pair had first crossed paths whilst co-presenting BBC's Fame Academy back in 2002. Nevertheless, they didn't step out publicly as a romantic item until nine years afterwards in 2011. Merely a year later in September 2012, they exchanged vows during a ceremony in Rome and welcomed two children together. Whilst Cat appears alongside Ben Shephard on This Morning, Northern Irish host Patrick fronts RTE chat show The Late Late Show, having succeeded Ryan Tubridy in 2023. When exactly the couple parted ways remains unknown. However, with the pair spending periods separated owing to clashing work commitments between Ireland and London, this is believed to have played a part in their separation. Cat's final Instagram mention of Patrick occurred in October 2023. On that occasion, she shared a quirky 90s-inspired collection of photos featuring them both. She captioned it: "Slightly terrifying but obsessed." The couple's last public outing was a month prior.
