This Underrated Quantum AI Stock Could Deliver Huge Gains by 2030

Key Points Arqit Quantum is a promising developer of technology that protects against cyberattacks from quantum computers. Although quantum computers don't present a cybersecurity threat yet, it could be only a matter of time. Arqit could have a huge addressable market if this quantum computing threat materializes in the next few years. 10 stocks we like better than Arqit Quantum › Every now and then, a new technology meets its moment. That's arguably happening with quantum computing. Over the last three months, several quantum computing stocks have skyrocketed. IonQ 's share price is up more than 40%. Rigetti Computing has soared more than 60%. The aptly named Quantum Computing has seen its share price more than double. And D-Wave Quantum is the biggest winner, with its stock skyrocketing more than 140%. Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Learn More » Another largely underrated quantum computing stock has also taken off in recent months. And it could deliver huge gains by 2030 with a little luck. A promising "anti-quantum computing" stock The stock I'm referring to is Arqit Quantum (NASDAQ: ARQQ). You might say that Arqit is more of an "anti-quantum computing" stock than it is a quantum computing stock. Arqit has developed technology that can protect any networked device or data against cyberattacks from quantum computers. Its flagship product, Arqit SKA-Platform, uses symmetric key agreement (SKA). This cryptographic approach allows two or more parties to share a secret key used for encryption and decryption without sending the key over an unsecured channel. SKA-Platform depends on a proprietary version of a process called replicated entropy, where identical sets of random numbers are delivered securely to data centers. The product also features a lightweight software agent that can be downloaded onto any device. It supposedly would take even the fastest quantum computer millions of years to break the symmetric encryption keys created by SKA-Platform. Arqit and its technology have already garnered a lot of praise. The company was recognized for its innovation in 2023 at the Institution of Engineering and Technology awards. It has also been named the Cyber Security Awards' Cyber Security Software Company of the Year and won the Innovation in Cyber Award at the National Cyber Awards in the United Kingdom. "Q day is coming" Quantum computers don't present a cybersecurity threat -- yet. However, to use Arqit's words, "Q day is coming." It's only a matter of time before a large-scale quantum computer is developed that puts the entire public key infrastructure (PKI) encryption framework in jeopardy. Over the last 12 months, several quantum computing leaders have achieved major milestones. The more progress they make, the greater the interest is likely to be for Arqit's technology. That interest is already picking up. The company has inked contracts with a major telecommunications network operator and the U.S. Department of Defense. It expects to land more deals in the coming months. Arqit thinks that its SKA-Platform could be used on every cloud and networked device in the world. The company also believes that its product is the only one that can create encryption keys to protect against quantum computer cyberattacks using a cloud platform at a large scale and low cost. As you might imagine, this creates a massive opportunity for Arqit if it's right. Gartner estimates that the global cybersecurity market will reach $294 billion by 2028. If current encryption methods are rendered obsolete by quantum computers, Arqit should be able to target virtually all of this market. High risk, potentially high reward That's an exciting total addressable market for a company with a market cap hovering around $450 million. But while Arqit Quantum offers potential high rewards for investors, it also comes with high risk. The company's future hinges on the development of quantum computers that present a huge cybersecurity threat. Arqit has no control over whether this will happen and, if it does, when it will happen. In the meantime, expenses are increasing while revenue is meager (only $67,000 in the first half of fiscal year 2025). Arqit is on track to burn through its cash position of $24.8 million as of March 31, 2025, by early next year. The company can tap its at-the-market equity offering program to raise up to $75 million. However, that means issuing new shares -- and diluting the value of existing shares. Still, it's quite possible that Q day will arrive within the next few years. If it does, Arqit's stock could skyrocket. And this anti-quantum computing stock could truly meet its moment. 3 Top Dividend Stocks to Buy in August

Key Points Enbridge offers investors low risk and an attractive dividend. Enterprise Products Partners has an ultra-high distribution yield and a bargain valuation. Realty Income features an impeccable dividend track record and great growth prospects. 10 stocks we like better than Enbridge › Don't forget dividends: That's good advice for a new or seasoned investor. Dividends can significantly boost the total returns of the stocks you buy. And they can provide income when needed. Thousands of stocks offer dividends, but they're not all great picks. What are the top dividend stocks to buy in August? Here are three great stocks that I really like right now. 1. Enbridge Enbridge (NYSE: ENB) succinctly summed up a big reason why its stock is attractive in its first-quarter update, describing its business as "low-risk" and "utility-like." With the S&P 500 CAPE ratio at its third-highest level ever (suggesting potential poor market returns ahead), that's the kind of stock many investors will want to buy this month. I think Enbridge's description is accurate, by the way. The company is a midstream energy leader, operating the world's longest oil and liquids transportation system. This system includes over 18,000 miles of crude oil pipeline and nearly 19,000 miles of natural gas pipeline. Like toll roads, pipelines generate steady and consistent cash flow. Thanks to three 2023 acquisitions, the business is more low-risk and utility-like than ever before. The company now ranks as the largest natural gas utility in North America (based on volume). It delivers roughly 9.3 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to around 7 million customers. Another key reason to like this stock is its dividend. Enbridge has increased its payout for an impressive 30 consecutive years. Its forward dividend yield currently tops 6%. With the company projecting average annual growth of around 5% through the rest of this decade, the stock should be in a strong position to generate double-digit percentage total returns. 2. Enterprise Products Partners If you're interested in a pure-play midstream energy stock with an even juicier dividend, you'll want to check out Enterprise Products Partners LP (NYSE: EPD). The distribution yield for this master limited partnership (MLP) is 6.93%, and it has increased its distribution for 26 consecutive years. Although the company doesn't have the utility-like business profile of Enbridge, I view its stock as relatively low risk. The company has delivered a double-digit percentage return on invested capital (ROIC) and solid cash flow every year for two decades. The MLP's growth prospects should be good. The European Union has agreed to significantly increase its natural gas purchases from the U.S. as part of a recent trade agreement. A lot of this natural gas will flow through the company's more than 50,000 miles of pipeline. Valuation is another plus for this ultra-high-yield dividend stock. Enterprise Products Partners' forward price-to-earnings ratio is around 11.2, lower than many of its peers and less than half the forward earnings multiple of the S&P 500. 3. Realty Income Not every top dividend stock to buy in August is in the energy sector. Realty Income (NYSE: O) is one of the world's largest real estate investment trusts (REITs). It owns 15,627 properties in eight countries. I like the diversification of Realty Income's portfolio. The REIT has nearly 1,600 tenants representing 91 industries. Roughly 91% of its total rent is largely resistant to economic downturns and/or protected from e-commerce threats. Its track record is impeccable. The company has delivered an average annual total return of 13.6% since listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 1994. Its total operational return was positive in each of those years. The REIT has increased its dividend -- which is paid monthly -- for 30 consecutive years (and 110 consecutive quarters), with its forward dividend yield now at 5.68%. To add icing to the cake, Realty Income's growth prospects are attractive. That's especially true in Europe, which has an addressable market of $8.5 trillion and only two major rivals. Should you invest $1,000 in Enbridge right now? Up 33% Year to Date, Is Netflix Stock Still a Buy?

Key Points Netflix has improved earnings trends and operating margins in the first half of the year. Forecasts for the third quarter are strong. In all, the content lineup for the second half of the year bodes well for viewership. 10 stocks we like better than Netflix › I'll be honest. A few years back I thought that the rising streaming wars would take the wind out of Netflix 's (NASDAQ: NFLX) sails. I could not have been more wrong. The stock has gained 33% year to date (at the time of writing), and outpaced the S&P 500 by 45% over the last five years. Why was I wrong? Because the company has significantly improved its net income over the last few years, while creating strong forecasts for the coming quarters. It's done this through a blitz of content, and streamlining operations to improve the bottom line. Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Learn More » Netflix hit a low point in 2022, when revenue dipped to 6.64% growth, and net income fell 12.2% year over year to $4.49 billion. Since then, things are coming back, and it's demonstrated in the share price. A good start to the year In the first quarter, top-line growth was slightly slower than 2025, but the benefits of that growth were better. Netflix reported an operating margin of 31.7% versus a margin of 28.1% in 2024, while earnings were $6.61 per diluted share versus earnings of $5.28 in the first quarter of 2024. Year-over-year growth improved in the second quarter, with a 15.9% increase in total revenue, and operating margin of 34.1% compared to 27.2% in Q2 2024. Earnings for the second quarter increased 47.3% to $7.19 due to a combination of increased net income, and a lower overall share count. The second half sounds great Looking into the second half of the year, Netflix provided some upbeat forecasting. Third-quarter results are anticipated to be pretty strong relative to Q3 of 2024. Revenue is anticipated to grow by 17.3% year over year to $11.5 billion, while operating margin is expected to be 17.3% versus 15% the year prior. The real kicker is earnings, which are anticipated to increase 27.2% year over year to $6.87 per diluted share. In all, Netflix has had solid free cash flow, and seems primed to keep going if its lineup for the second half of the year delivers for users. Upcoming content The platform's lineup for the second half of the year kicked off with the highly anticipated (and irreverent) Happy Gilmore 2, and that's just the start. The company is slated to premiere many popular options including Wednesday season 2, Frankenstein, A House of Dynamite from Kathryn Bigelow, and the final season of the extremely popular Stranger Things. This is just to name a few of the upcoming pipeline that is a part of Netflix's continued strategy of attempting to create content for the broadest audience possible. An example of this is partnering with channels overseas to provide content to a global audience. For example, the company noted in its second quarter shareholder letter that it had partnered with TF1, a popular broadcaster in France, to deliver its content to streamers. To me, this is essential to outpacing competitors in this ever-popular space, and keep the stock as a good investment. I would argue that it's going to be virtually impossible to avoid the ever-expanding popularity of streaming, and Netflix seems to be holding onto the reins despite mounting pressure from a variety of competitors including Walt Disney, Paramount Global, and others. Given Netflix's current trend of improving annual net income, I think it is a strong stock to own right now, even after already gaining 33% this year. Should you invest $1,000 in Netflix right now? Before you buy stock in Netflix, consider this: The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team just identified what they believe are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy now… and Netflix wasn't one of them.
