Bill Belichick doesn't think outside distractions will be an issue at UNC: 'We've always dealt with that'
While most of the questions focused on UNC's team, Belichick was asked about girlfriend Jordon Hudson, and how much attention their relationship has received. In typical Belichick fashion, he downplayed the issue and focused on football.
"Is there noise out there? We've always dealt with that. Really, our job is to build the football team ... help build the team and also build their individual careers. That's really where we are at."

Belichick was also asked whether he would have returned to coaching if he knew his personal life was going to be a big story. Again, he downplayed the issue, saying a lot of the "noise" is a result of his book, which he worked on while he was away from coaching. He quipped that he hopes the book will be a "big purchase on Father's Day."
When asked whether Hudson will appear on the sideline during North Carolina games, Belichick said that would not be the case before turning the answer to football.
"She doesn't have any role in the UNC football program, but again there's been noise out there about a lot of different things. Again, our focus is day-to-day getting better, stacking good days together."
Those types of answers should sound pretty familiar to anyone who followed Belichick's NFL career. Belichick was famous for focusing solely on football and not allowing outside noise to affect his team. The Patriots and Belichick handled a handful of scandals during his tenure as head coach, including Deflategate and Spygate. The team never missed a beat despite those scandals.
With the Patriots, Belichick was rarely the reason for those outside distractions. That isn't the case this time around, where Belichick's relationship with Hudson has led to both questions and confusion.
In the end, it might not matter. Belichick has a knack for shutting down outside noise. If he can do that and turn in a successful season at UNC, it won't be long before the things change and he's gruffly telling reporters "we're on to Georgia Tech" after he gets asked a football question he doesn't want to answer.

Stud: Myles Price The kick return that Myles Price returned on Saturday was the longest by the team since Jerick McKinnon took one all the way in 2017. Price has been having good weeks of practice, and to make a play like he did against the Patriots in a game where not much was positive was something he can hang on to. The Vikings need to be more explosive in the return game in 2025 after the changes were made to it. Price looks like he could be part of that solution they need. Dud: Sam Howell Sam Howell did not look good in the limited action he had against the Patriots. While J.J. McCarthy carved up the Patriots' secondary all week, Howell struggled. He had one completion for 15 yards and threw one very bad interception on a play where he should've thrown the ball away. Brett Rypien and Max Brosmer came in to relieve him and looked much better, so we still have a very live backup quarterback situation on our hands. Stud: Zavier Scott Last week, Zavier Scott made some plays. He followed that up by having a strong week of practice against the Patriots that turned into a good game for the Vikings' skill player. He had a combined 76 yards of offense and was the second leading receiver on the day. He continues to have the potential to be the third running back in the offense and push out another 2022 NFL Draft pick in Ty Chandler. Dud: Pass Rush Despite facing intense pressure last week against the Patriots' offensive line, they struggled on gameday. They recorded no sacks and just seven QB hits against the Patriots' offensive line. Brian Flores had a rare miss in terms of his scheming. The team will have to regroup and will have the opportunity to face another quarterback group, led by Cam Ward, next week. Stud: Will Reichard A couple of weeks after writing that the Vikings may have had an issue with their kicker, Will Reichard has become money. Last week, the former Alabama Crimson Tide specialist was 2-for-2, and he followed that up with a perfect 4-for-4 on Saturday, with one going through from 54 yards.

Henderson, the second-round draft pick from national champion Ohio State who's been turning heads in training camp and tracking toward a prominent role in the backfield, rushed for 20 yards with an 8-yard score on four carries during a two-drive stint for the first-team offense. Henderson had a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown last week. The Patriots held a handful of projected starters out, including four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who's returning from a torn ACL in his right knee suffered halfway through his lone season with the Houston Texans. Second-year quarterback Drake Maye started against an all-backups Vikings defense and went 4 for 7 for 46 yards with a delay-of-game penalty and an overthrow that was nearly intercepted but dropped by Tavierre Thomas. Chism made another compelling case for a regular-season roster spot with six receptions from backup QB Joshua Dobbs for 71 yards and a score. He caught a short throw on third-and-9 from the 12 and broke six tackle attempts as he twisted and muscled his way into the end zone. With Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte and veterans Kendrick Bourne and Mack Hollins on the Patriots' roster, there might be only one opening for a wide receiver.
