Saudi Air Force participates in Anatolian Phoenix 2025 exercise in Turkey

KONYA —The Saudi Air Force announced its participation in the "Anatolian Phoenix 2025" combat search and rescue exercise at Konya Air Base in Turkey, alongside forces from sister and friendly countries. The exercise, in which Saudi fighter jets are participating, aims to enhance their combat efficiency.
Saudi fighter jets are also continuing their participation in the Desert Flag 2025 joint exercise in Abu Dhabi, with six F-15C fighter jets and their full air, technical, and support crews. This is to exchange military expertise in planning and execution in an environment similar to real warfare, and to enhance the readiness and combat efficiency of the air and technical support crews.
Joint Ministry of Defense exercises enhance threat deterrence and defeat aggression, while also achieving coordination and enhancing defense and security cooperation, both domestically and internationally, to protect Saudi Arabia's security from external threats. They also promote integrated coordination with national forces to develop capabilities and mutual benefits to enhance national security.
Deputy Commander of the Air Forces, Major General Pilot Talal Al-Ghamdi, inspected the preparations of the group participating in the exercise from King Khalid Air Base in the southern sector.
The Air Force is participating in the exercise with two Cougar helicopters, complete with their full air, technical, and support crews, in addition to six air controllers. This will enhance operational readiness, exchange expertise, and train in an environment that simulates real-world operations.

Pilgrims begin stoning Jamrat al-Aqaba in Mina
Saudi Gazette report MAKKAH — Pilgrims began arriving in Mina to perform the ritual of stoning the Jamarat at dawn on Friday. Pilgrims flowed to the Jamrat al-Aqaba (the biggest of the three Jamarat) utlizing all security and service capabilities from the time they began leaving Muzdalifah early Friday until their arrival at the Jamarat Bridge. The relevant authorities have allocated multiple paths to distribute the crowds to ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims across the various floors of the Jamarat facility. The facility was constructed in an engineering marvel that took into account the distribution of the crowd density during the stoning ritual. The bridge is connected to various pedestrian bridges leading to the Mashaer train and the areas surrounding the pilgrim camps in Mina. The pilgrims stoned the Jamarat Bridge with all security, health, ambulance and civil defense services in place, along with security personnel regulating the movement of pilgrims in the Jamarat Bridge courtyards and at its entrances and exits. The movement of pilgrims toward the Jamarat Bridge and the surrounding areas was characterized by a gradual and safe flow in batches, distributed according to the prepared schedule. The return to their camps after the stoning was smooth with the movement of cars and pilgrims on the roads in Mina were characterized by a general flexibility. After the pilgrims finish throwing stones at the Jamrat al-Aqaba, they move on to perform the other important and obligatory rituals of the Hajj on the day, starting with slaughtering the sacrificial animals, shaving the heads by men pilgrims, tawaf al-ifadah (the circling of the Sacred House) and walking (saii) between the mounts of Safa and Marwa.

No security or health incidents reported on Arafat day, says Makkah deputy emir
Saudi Gazette report ARAFAT — Prince Saud bin Mishaal, deputy emir of the Makkah Region and vice chairman of the Permanent Hajj and Umrah Committee, praised God for enabling 1.67 million pilgrims to complete the Day of Arafat without any recorded security or health incidents. Speaking from Arafat on Thursday, the prince attributed the smooth movement and calm spiritual atmosphere to the Kingdom's integrated service system and the leadership's meticulous planning. 'In this great day, pilgrims gather in Arafat in devotion and reverence,' he said. 'They were transported from Makkah and Mina to Arafat in record time, under flexible and efficient plans, with no security or epidemic incidents reported — all by the grace of God.' Prince Saud expressed gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for mobilizing extensive material and human resources to serve the guests of God. He also acknowledged the direct supervision of Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, in overseeing all operational plans. 'We are honored by God to serve His sacred sites,' the prince said, adding: 'It is a great responsibility that we must carry out with sincerity.' He called on all pilgrims to adhere to official instructions and thanked security forces, volunteers, and service personnel for presenting a positive image of the Kingdom. 'Continue your noble mission,' he urged, 'we are proud of you.' The deputy emir asked God to accept their deeds and grant them a blessed Hajj.

GASTAT: Total pilgrims performing Hajj account for 1,673,230
Saudi Gazette report ARAFAT — The General Authority for Statistics announced on Thursday that the total number of pilgrims who perform Hajj this year reached 1,673,230 pilgrims. These include 1,506,576 foreign pilgrims, who arrived from outside the Kingdom through various entry ports. The number of domestic pilgrims reached 166,654 pilgrims, including citizens and residents. The authority indicated in its statistical results for this year's Hajj that the number of male pilgrims out of the total number of domestic and international pilgrims reached 877,841, while the number of female pilgrims stood at 795,389. Regarding the statistics for pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom, the authority said that 1,435,017 male and female pilgrims arrived via air ports, while 66,465 pilgrims arrived via land ports, and 5,094 pilgrims arrived via sea ports. It is noteworthy that the GASTAT relied on administrative records from the Ministry of Interior as the primary source of data to provide highly accurate and reliable Hajj statistics based on a unified model that includes several elements. This is an extension of the statistical approach followed over the past five years, it stated in a report.
