Johnny Depp self-portrait to go on sale
Pirates of the Caribbean star Depp created the original works in the early 2000s, during the early years of his relationship with the French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis.
The couple lived with their children, Jack and Lily-Rose, at their estate Le Hameau, in the south of France, where he painted the works. The pair announced their split in 2012.
Depp said: 'I've been lucky enough to understand through various artists – listening, learning things – the only thing you can really do is add the light to what's there.'
Asked about his self-portrait, which is painted in watercolours, Depp said: 'It represents exactly what I was experiencing at the time – very present, just there.'
The companion piece is a single rose, entitled A Rose Is a Rose Is a Rose.
Depp added: 'When Lily-Rose was a little kiddie, I'd paint her a rose every Valentine's Day.
'On Mother's Day, I'd paint Vanessa some roses. You don't really know where it's going to go, it's all up to chance.'
The works, available in a limited edition of 195, are all hand-signed by Depp and can be bought individually or as a set.
The paintings follow previous art he has created and sold in recent years.
They will go on sale from 8am on July 18, exclusively at castlefineart.com and in their 38 nationwide UK galleries.

Ruby Rose reveals shock body modification as she steps out in Los Angeles after a string of bizarre claims about her living conditions
Ruby Rose revealed she has removed a tattoo of her former partner's name as she stepped out in Los Angeles on Friday. The Australian actor, 39, soaked up the sun as she went on a relaxing stroll with her two dogs. As she carried the pooches out of their pram and into her home, Ruby revealed her new body modification. The Batwoman star has removed a tattoo of her ex fiancée Phoebe Dahl's name from inside a red heart on her left shoulder. The ink previously featured both 'Phoebe + Ruby' inside the heart but the designer's name has now been erased. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Ruby was dressed casually for the outing in a grey singlet, shorts and sunglasses as she pushed her two dogs in a pram. She completed her look with long red socks and also wore black and white sneakers. Ruby re-emerged at the horse sanctuary last month after telling fans she has had to 'move house every few weeks' because she is being 'followed'. The Australian actor shared videos to Instagram, showing herself playing with goats at the sanctuary. Daily Mail Australia can reveal the movie star stays at the ranch for a few days at a time to visit the animals when she is in the area. Ruby tagged the sanctuary in her videos and even urged her 20.1 million followers to donate to the business, which is committed to 'equine rescue and rehabilitation'. In the clips, Ruby featured two baby goats named Martha and Snoop, who she has previously revealed lost their mother. The Aussie star appeared to be quite taken with the animals as she fed them, walked with them around the sanctuary, and cuddled up to them in her videos. It came after Ruby shared a series of troubling posts to Threads earlier last month, claiming someone was trying to kill her. One of the posts included an eyebrow-raising remark about one of Jeffrey Epstein's accusers, Virginia Giuffre. Giuffre recently took her own life after claiming she had been in a devastating car accident that was later revealed to be a minor prang. Ruby's wild posts first came in response to a thread that asked: 'Who is a celebrity that gave it all up at the height of fame to go live a 'normal' life?' 'Hi. We just leave when people try to kill us. When we are illegally debanked and [redacted]. Hope that helps,' Rose answered. 'Debanking' refers to a bank terminating a customer's accounts or restricting access to banking services due to perceived risks. This may happen for a number of reasons, including a perceived risk of money laundering, non-compliant customer activities, or a perceived reputational risk. Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting Ruby was debanked for any of these reasons. It is unclear if Ruby was actually debanked or if she was referring to someone else's plight. Rose then went on to say: 'I don't want to be labelled 'crazy' and I don't want to pretend to know how Virginia Giuffre died - but DOZENS of people including a school bus, have tried to run me off the road in the last few years.' Giuffre was one of the most outspoken accusers of convicted sex offenders Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. She died by suicide at age 41 at her farm outside Perth, Australia, on Thursday, April 24. Ruby claimed: 'I have been followed almost every time I leave my home, since the day I broke my neck, back and ribs on Batwoman' - referring to her controversial exit from the TV series after she sustained injuries on-set. 'Since then I have doubled down on.... Epstein. This has resulted in some seriously wild attempts on my life. Believe it or don't. But I might as well update you.' Ruby also wrote: 'This,' beneath someone else's comment on the thread which read: 'Y'all they 'left' bc it's a horrifying industry that is NOT safe.' Fans flocked to comments beneath Ruby's Threads post, begging the star to 'stay safe and keep speaking out'. Ruby responded to one concerned fan to let them know she'd had no suicidal thoughts of any kind 'thank you for asking'. 'In fact I am moving house every few weeks, countries every few months and trying desperately to stay alive until my book is finished and released,' Ruby, who is currently writing a tell-all memoir, responded. 'If you're truly being followed and targeted, staying put is dangerous. You need to move ideally to another country, where you can be safe and off the radar,' another person told Ruby. 'Trust no one unless you're absolutely sure of them. Change your routine completely. This isn't about fear, it's about survival. Your safety comes first act now!' Ruby, who has recently been splitting her time between the US and Australia following the death of her father just before Christmas, responded: 'Already done.'

David Beckham hugs Harper and Victoria on superyacht amid stormy family feud
For months, rumours have rumbled of a bitter split within the Beckham family - but proud dad David looked happy as a clam as he hugged his daughter and wife on a luxury holiday David Beckham looked in good spirits on the high seas as he hugged his daughter and wife during a trip to St Tropez. The 50-year-old sporting legend joined wife Victoria, 51, and daughter Harper Seven, 14, on the deck of a luxury yacht. The sport star looked casual in a sand coloured cap and dark t-shirt - and with a smile stretched across his face. Victoria pouted alongside her husband with her hair loose around her shoulders. While teenage daughter Harper looked pretty in a pink as she wrapped up in a casual hooded top. The trio were spied on the deck of the boat lined up for a photograph together. The famous family are known for heading to the south of France to enjoy a summer break year after year. And they were joined by second son, Romeo, 22 - who reportedly spent the afternoon zipping around the sea on a jet ski. Father, daughter and wife posed and smiled for the cameras as their boat - worth a reported £16 million - bobbed gently on the Mediterranean waters. The Daily Mail shared the sun-soaked snaps which made the family look like they had not a care in the world while enjoying the picturesque French weather. The calm image is in contrast to the stormy headlines that have haunted the Beckham family in recent months. A feud is said to have erupted between the family and eldest son Brookyln - who is married to American Billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz. Fans became concerned for the Beckhams after they noticed Brooklyn and his wife snubbed David during his 50th birthday celebrations in May. In subsequent months, there have been reports that Brooklyn and Nicola have clashed with his younger brothers - while other reports have suggested the family have been at odds since Nicola and her husband got married in 2022. There have also been shady comments and social media quips that have left fans reading into the smallest details for evidence of a feud. On Saturday, social media posts featuring Romeo and his younger sister Harper hinted they were glad to be in the sun and away from feud-fuelled headlines. The duo were spotted heading out for dinner in St Tropez and both cut casual appearances. Romeo was pictured wearing a red baseball cap, teamed with a round neck white sweater. Meanwhile Harper opted for a white hoodie with the word "Seven" emblazoned across the front of it. Both looked in high spirits as they enjoyed an evening out with their parents. While Vicky, Dave and their kids have been lapping up the sun in France, estranged son Brooklyn has been spotted in the UK - far from his Hollywood home. The couple took a leisurely stroll through a picturesque garden where they were spied by fans. Nicola took a candid photo of her husband by a quaint garden well, while they both opted for casual outfits for their trip. One sweet photo shows Brooklyn kissing Nicola as they pose in front of a mirror. Fans noted, however, that the couple enjoyed time in the UK while the rest of the Beckham family were abroad - raising speculation they may have coordinated their trip to avoid a run in.

Johnny Depp's secret new life in rural Sussex with sprawling mansion
Johnny Depp has reportedly ditched Hollywood for a sprawling Sussex mansion - hidden behind Gothic gates, and locals say he's been spotted "shopping quietly" and "enjoying country walks" Johnny Depp has traded the chaos of Hollywood for the quiet life of a secluded country mansion in East Sussex. The Caribbean actor appears determined to find peace in the rolling hills of rural England. Locals have spotted the 62-year-old Hollywood star strolling the high street in nearby Wadhurst and have also been seen wandering the grounds of his impressive and historic home. The ten-bedroom manor dates back to the 1850s and is hidden behind towering trees, ornate gates, and Gothic statues. The estate includes sunken gardens, water features, orchards, an open-air amphitheatre, and two staff cottages. According to a report, the star has often been spotted enjoying breakfast on a terrace overlooking the Sussex countryside. 'Mr Depp knows this area well and he loves it here,' a local source said. "It's a beautiful home and very peaceful.' His connection to the area reportedly began with visits to his late friend, guitarist Jeff Beck, who offered support during Depp's darkest days, even inviting him on stage when others turned their backs. Depp stayed at Beck's 16th-century farmhouse during the pandemic and remains close to Beck's widow, Sandra. Unlike the Cotswolds - favoured by stars like Hugh Grant, Stella McCartney, and Ellen DeGeneres - East Sussex offers anonymity. 'Johnny's choice of a very quiet corner of Sussex rather than the goldfish bowl that the Cotswolds has become for big stars tells you all you need to know about his mindset: he wants peace and quiet,' one showbiz insider told The Daily Mail. 'And he has no interest in being judged by the kind of people who walked away from him.' Depp's career was nearly destroyed after losing a UK libel case in 2020, being labeled a "wife beater," and then dropped from major roles, including Fantastic Beasts and Pirates of the Caribbean. Although he won a U.S. defamation case against Heard in 2022, the damage to his reputation was severe. 'I was shunned, dumped, booted, deep-sixed, cancelled, however you want to define it,' Depp said in a recent interview. 'Would I rather have not gone through that? Of course. But I learned more than I ever dreamed I could.' Now he's making a slow return as he was recently chauffeured from Sussex to the London premiere of Modigliani: Three Days On The Wing Of Madness—his first time directing since 1997. The film, set in WWI-era Paris, stars Riccardo Scamarcio and Al Pacino. His current residence is owned by multimillionaire Prudence Watts, 74, known locally for her garden centre and quiet philanthropy. The home, regarded as one of the finest in the area, reportedly rents for between £30,000 and £40,000 a month. It is owned by Prudence Watts, whose late husband, Kevan Watts, was a banker known for helping turn Merrill Lynch into a major global financial firm. Despite the tight security around the property, Depp's presence has caused little disruption in the area. 'He seems like a really nice, down-to-earth bloke,' said one local 'Being in East Sussex will do him some good.' Another person added: 'None of us are perfect—not even Johnny Depp. If I see him again, I'm going to ask for a selfie. I'm sure he won't mind.'
