BPerfect pauses sales of cleanser from Annalivia Hynds collection following concerns
The founder and CEO of the beauty brand Brendan McDowell posted to Instagram on Monday, confirming that sales of the brand's cleanser, which is part of its 'Annalivia' collection with influencer Annalivia Hynds, had been paused.
The 'BPerfect x Annalivia' collection was launched on July 23, a bespoke collection which Hynds said fits with her lifestyle as a busy mother of three.
Customers rushed to get their hands on the popular TikTok star's collection after its launch, but excitement for the collection turned to concern for some as videos appeared on social media claiming breakouts and rashes appeared on some people's faces after using the products.
One TikTok user who said she 'never breaks out' posted a video showing a breakout on her face after apparently using products from the collection.
Another user posted a photo of his girlfriend's face, which he said had broken out in a 'severe rash' and that he said required 'immediate medical intervention'.
People shared their concerns in online comment sections, with some saying their face felt 'on fire' as well as dry and sore.
The 'BPerfect x Annalivia' collection was launched on July 23.
McDowell has since addressed these concerns from customers, confirming that the sale of the collection's cleanser had been paused and that a full investigation with its skincare experts and labs will be launched.
'I've seen the feedback online with some of the reactions to the new Annalivia skincare range and I want to address it directly,' he said on his Instagram stories on Monday.
After reviewing everything, we have identified that the cleanser is what is causing some of the sensitivity for a small amount of people.
'The rest of the range has received great feedback and the majority of customers have had no issues but we are not ignoring the few that have.
'Even though the cleanser has passed all the safety tests and meets industry standards, as a temporary precaution, we have paused all sales while we do a full investigation with our skincare experts and our labs.'
He said that the brand values all feedback received and said it is 'important that we get this right'.
'We always recommend doing a patch test, guys, with all skin products as everybody's skin is completely different. What works for one person will not always work for the next,' he said.
'We take everybody's feedback really, really seriously and even though it's a small number at the moment compared to what we have sold, we have taken action straight away.'
He advised those affected to get in contact with the BPerfect customer care team.
BPerfect was launched by McDowell in 2012 and the brand is now stocked in over two thousand stockists throughout Ireland, Northern Ireland, the UK and worldwide. McDowell made an appearance on Ireland's Dragons' Den in March 2017, securing an offer from two Dragons, and went on to be nominated as Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year.
BPerfect has been contacted for comment.

Out of everyone in the villa, he was the only one" Credit: YouTube/Spill With Will Love Island 2025 OG Harry, 30, was initially left stunned when his real-world ex Emma entered the Mallorca compound, and he could be heard saying: "Oh my god, it's my ex." Now, amid the villa feud with the girls and the obvious divide, Emma has had her say. She admitted on the podcast that she was 'scared' to speak to Dejon, who was dumped alongside Meg on Sunday night. Emma revealed: 'I really felt funny around him. Out of everyone in the villa, he was the only one. 'I avoided him. I didn't like his energy at all, something in my gut was telling me 'leave that man alone.'' She continued: 'He was putting the bombshells down, right from the get go. He never even said hello to me either, and I just thought what are you doing.' Emma also spoke about there being 'little bickers here, there and everywhere.' She said: 'I think I had bickers with everyone in the villa but only a handful got shown. 'They really wanted to focus on the Harry storyline which is annoying. No one saw mine and Boris' story. 'There was so much else they could've picked and everyone was confused that we went into the Hideaway which baffles me because the lead up to it had been going on for so long. Love Island OG's Meg and Dejon DUMPED by returning islanders 'They chose to pick the negative moments but it's all for the drama I guess.' Emma, who underwent an image revamp prior to her time in the dating programme, also let slip their last conversation before he entered the ITV2 series as a show OG. She denied knowing he was going on the matchmaking series and said: "No, he [Harry] sent me the weirdest text right before he went into holding. "And he basically said 'oh you won't be able to contact me for the summer, please get hold of my mum if you need anything.' "I thought oh he's going to rehab. "Or he's checked into a wellness centre, how wrong was I?" Emma, who was recently given the boot from the show, told how she first became aware of his telly gig when she saw his Instagram post. She added: "I wasn't shocked you know. "I feel like this is a bit of him, he'd be the perfect candidate. "And he has been, he's carried the show on his back lets be honest."

Nathan Carter meet and greet drama explodes as hotel and star blame each other
A dramatic fallout has erupted between country music star Nathan Carter and The Balmoral Hotel, after an advertised meet and greet left fans disappointed and both sides pointing fingers. The Wagon Wheel singer headlined Feile an Phobail's Country Festival in Belfast's Falls Park on Saturday night. The sell-out event was part of the wider arts festival and also featured performances from The Whistlin' Donkeys, Ultimate Eagles and Claudia Buckley. But while thousands were enjoying the show, confusion was brewing elsewhere - namely at The Balmoral Hotel on the outskirts of Belfast city, where a free 'Nathan Carter Meet and Greet' had been promoted as part of the hotel's new Cargo Cult Smokehouse launch. Posting on Instagram on Sunday afternoon, Nathan, 35, addressed the situation directly. He said: "Hi everyone, just jumping on to say a massive thanks to everyone who attended the Feile in Belfast last night. The best gig of the year so far, over 10,000 people and the atmosphere was incredible." He clarified the controversy surrounding the advertised meet and greet, saying: "Now, regarding the meet and greet which was advertised for the Balmoral Hotel yesterday with myself, it's something that I was never booked for and apologies to people who did turn up. When I got to Belfast I headed straight over and I met a few people at the hotel, but obviously missed an awful lot of people that had been there, so apologies about that. But unfortunately, it's something, as I say, that I was never officially booked for and it was advertised, so hope you all had a good time anyway at the Feile." Country singer, Nathan Carter (Image: Instagram) The Balmoral Hotel swiftly responded with a no-holds-barred Facebook post that claimed the event had been arranged, and confirmed, through Carter's official promoter. "Let's clear a few things up, shall we?" the hotel began. "As a proud sponsor of this year's Feile, we at The Balmoral Hotel were genuinely excited to host a FREE 'Nathan Carter: MEAT and Greet' event for the launch of our new Cargo Cult Smokehouse. This was booked and confirmed for us on Saturday 25th July via Joe Gallagher Entertainment, named as the official promoter for Nathan Carter's show. We were told that Nathan would be arriving on Saturday 2nd August any time between 4pm and 6pm." The hotel said they had only 250 free tickets - which "went within hours" - and claimed they reconfirmed the booking even after being asked to "take the post down by Nathan's team", who were reportedly "getting requests from other businesses for meet and greets". They detailed extensive preparations, including shutting the car park, bringing in extra staff, providing free food, live music, a DJ, photographer, videographer and even a shuttle bus. The Balmoral alleged: "At 5pm, we got word from the promoters that Nathan would be arriving at 8pm, which overlapped with the start time of the Feile concert. We informed guests about this and let them decide what to do. Some stayed, some understandably couldn't and headed to the concert. We kept the energy up, and Nathan eventually arrived just before 10pm, posed for photos, and then headed to the show." The Balmoral Hotel in Dunmurry on the outskirts of Belfast city (Image: Google Maps) The Balmoral Hotel then hit back at Nathan's social media claim: "Now here's the twist: Today, Nathan Carter posted a story on social media saying we never booked him. We're just going to say this: Maybe, just maybe, his teams should start talking to each other, because from where we're standing, this was very much booked and we planned every last detail around it. We're not in the business of drama, but we are in the business of hospitality and we're proud of the effort our team put in to make something special (and free) for our community." The hotel closed their statement with some cheeky final words: "To our guests: thank you. To our team: legends. To Nathan: next time, we're booking Daniel O'Donnell. With love, The Balmoral Hotel." The hotel's post has since gone viral, with thousands of likes and hundreds of comments - many focused on the playful jab at the end. One person wrote: "Savage put down!" Another added: "Daniel is the cats pyjamas, I'd be over like a shot." A third said: "Please book Daniel. I love Daniel O'Donnell." It comes as earlier this month a decades-old embryo was born, described as the world's 'oldest baby.' Thaddeus Daniel Pierce was born on July 26, 2025 — but was developed from an embryo that was created in 1994, being placed in storage for over 30 years. Thaddeus' parents, Lindsey and Tim 'adopted' the embryo from the woman who created it, with Tim being a toddler when the embryos, which included his son, were first created.
