ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – Gorilla Heavy Hitters is a local boxing gym set to have its debut promotional boxing event, 'Legacy Fights,' at the Ector County Coliseum on April 26th. Featured on the bout are local talent in the surrounding areas of West Texas.
The mastermind behind Gorilla Heavy Hitters is manager and owner Iram Sanchez, who says that he's been dreaming of having his very own promotion for some time now.
'I've always had a dream to have my own promotion company and to help kids and just to build champions,' says Sanchez. 'It means a lot to me to have opened the doors for these kids with GHH Promotions.'
Co-headlining the event are two of Odessa's own, brother Conrad Martinez and Iram Sanchez. Conrad is currently 9-2, coming off a loss last July. However, he views the experience that he learned from his last fight will end up helping him in this next one.
'We learned that we belong there at that stage,' says Martinez. 'I'm just ready to get in the ring and, you know, show the people what I've been working on.'
Iram Sanchez holds a 1-0 record as of now and is taking full advantage of fighting in front of the home crowd, saying that it's his time now.
Here is a list of the other fighters that will take the ring on April 26th:
Sergio Soto (pro debut) Odessa
Josh Franch (1-0) Odessa
Ivy Enriquez (1-0) El Paso
Emany Rendon (2-2) Midland
