This caricature of a man is literally crying and whining for a month about one optional choice in a sidequest in 100+ hour game. Without even playing it. Imagine how insecure he must be about his own preferences. Meanwhile everybody who actually played the game doesnt give a f 🤣 https://t.co/s2lOMIrfSu

Is Windows the Future of Xbox?

Microsoft dropped some new details about its next-generation Xbox, and it sure sounds like the next console will be very similar to a Windows PC. If so, this plan could conceivably lead to Steam on the Xbox. Xbox President Sarah Bond hinted at big changes for the upcoming Xbox in an announcement on YouTube about AMD's involvement in providing the console's chips. It's not surprising that AMD has a role in the next Xbox, as it's provided hardware for Xbox in the past, but Bond managed to pack quite a few revelations into the short announcement video (below). Bond kicked off the announcement by revealing a 'strategic, multi-year partnership with AMD' that will include the next generation Xbox 'in your living room and in your hands.' As she finished that statement, she held her hands the way one would to hold Asus' upcoming ROG Xbox Ally, a Nintendo Switch-shaped portable gaming console running a custom version of Windows. The UI is that of Xbox, but it supports other stores, like Steam. Unfortunately, as Polygon points out, the Xbox Ally only plays Xbox games designed for PC play. Standard Xbox console games get left out. To cap it off, Bond said the goal was to bring gamers 'an Xbox experience not locked to a single store or tied to a single device.' 'That's why we're working closely with the Windows team to ensure that Windows is the number one platform for gaming,' Bond added. As we said, that has Steam written all over it in our eyes. Of course, other game stores will also want to get access to the console, but adding the Steam Store to the Xbox would be a huge win for gamers. It's also worth noting that Bond said the upcoming Xbox hardware would maintain 'compatibility with your existing library of Xbox games.' That statement, perhaps more than any other she made during the video, suggests that Microsoft is determined to be gamer-centric. If the company forced gamers to ditch their game collections…well, Microsoft isn't doing that, so we don't need to imagine the chaos. The next-gen Xbox should arrive sometime in 2027. The launch of the Asus ROG Xbox Ally was expected for 2025, so if that's any indication, we'd say development of the next Xbox is likely on track.

Juneteenth Is Black Joy: 7 Black Women On What Liberation Looks Like Now

Source: Courtesy of Featured / Courtesy of Featured As the nation pauses to honor Juneteenth—the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation—Black Americans continue to infuse the day with meaning, reflection, and joy. It's more than a commemoration. It's a celebration of culture, a resistance against erasure, and a radical assertion of freedom in all its forms. We spoke with several Black changemakers, creatives, and community leaders to hear how they celebrate Juneteenth, what freedom means to them, and how they intentionally make space for joy—especially in times that threaten it most. Source: Courtesy of Featured / Courtesy of Blair Imani Activist and educator Blair Imani (she/her) celebrates Juneteenth by 'centering community and focusing on education.' For her, the holiday is a chance to uplift Black Americans and affirm that 'our history is U.S. history.' Similarly, Ozy Aloziem (she/her), a DEI strategist and poet, immerses herself in 'Black people, Black music, Black stories, Black food, Black joy, Black art, and Black everything' during the holiday. 'I try to find ways to honor and hold space for history and the hard-earned freedom I'm privileged to access,' she shares. For Whitney Roberts, the day is centered around family traditions. 'We explain, in an age-appropriate way, what the holiday is and why it matters,' she says. Then, the family turns to cooking together, pulling recipes from Watermelon and Red Birds by Nicole Taylor. 'Juneteenth for us is really about family, about connection, and about love.' Source: Courtesy of Featured / Courtesy of Whitney Roberts Zayna Allen (she/her) reflects on her evolving relationship with the holiday. 'I only started celebrating within the past five years,' she says, explaining that Juneteenth wasn't something she learned about until adulthood. Now, she prioritizes being around her community. 'On Juneteenth, we're unapologetically Blackity Black—and I love seeing that from us.' Gabrielle, co-founder of Vibes In The Park , marks the occasion through community-based celebrations like festivals, food, art, and educational events. 'We support Black-owned businesses and creators—centering Black culture in all its beauty and brilliance.' While the holiday commemorates a historic moment of freedom, today's Black leaders acknowledge that the concept of liberation remains complex and contested. 'Freedom is under constant threat,' says Blair Imani, referencing attacks on trans rights, reproductive justice, immigrant communities, and voting rights. 'While we are in a different position than our ancestors were in 1865, freedom must still be fought for diligently.' She uplifts the work of the Legal Defense Fund and others who continue to defend civil rights in the face of modern-day oppression. Source: Courtesy of Featured / Courtesy of Ozy Aloziem For Ozy, freedom means 'being able to access and live into possibility,' unbound by fear. Whitney sees it as 'being your full self without fear,' living in a way so free it liberates others just by example. And for Gabrielle, it's about 'existing fully and unapologetically—mentally, spiritually, and physically.' Zayna envisions freedom as the ability to step outside without fear, to be wholly oneself without restraint. It's a dream, she admits, but one worth holding onto and pushing toward. In a world that often attempts to rob Black people of peace and rest, joy is a revolutionary act. 'Joy and the fight against oppression are not mutually exclusive,' says Blair. 'In fact, joy is necessary to fight against our dehumanization.' Whether it's a comedy show, time with loved ones, or new music, she sees joy as a way to stay grounded in the vision of a better world. Whitney agrees that joy must be intentional. 'It could be a dance party with my 4-year-old, Kiki-ing with my friends, journaling, or neighborhood walks,' she says. 'Whatever it is, it must be an intentional choice. If joy can't be found, sometimes it must be made.' Source: Courtesy of Featured / Courtesy of Zayna Allen Ozy speaks passionately about her transformation from melancholy to what she calls 'the queen of wow.' She finds joy in everything from silly Instagram reels and jump-roping to poetry and yellow sunflowers. 'Joy, quite literally, is at my fingertips,' she laughs, referring to her sunflower-covered phone case and bright yellow nails. For Zayna, protecting joy is an act of resistance. 'It's tough,' she admits. 'But I don't allow external factors to jeopardize my connection to joy, no matter how hard it is to find it some days.' Gabrielle echoes this sentiment, saying she makes space for joy by 'protecting my peace, surrounding myself with people who pour into me, and doing things that feel good to my mind, body, and spirit.' Juneteenth is not just a day off or a moment of historical reflection. It's a living, breathing call to action. It invites us to remember what our ancestors fought for and to recommit ourselves to a vision of freedom that includes joy, justice, and full self-expression. As these voices remind us, liberation isn't a moment—it's a lifelong journey. And on that journey, joy is not optional. It's essential. ‘Rematch' Devs Are Trying To Get Crossplay Working ASAP, Apologize For It Not Being There At Launch

Improving Rematch's slide tackle is on the to-do list for Sloclap. But first, bug fixes and ... More crossplay. Rematch, the skill-based action soccer game from Absolver and Sifu studio Sloclap, is off to a strong start. At the time of writing, it has reached more than 92,000 concurrent players on Steam alone on its launch day. It's also available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. But there's a significant feature missing from the game as things stand: crossplay. Sloclap said in a statement that it did its "utmost" to have crossplay ready by launch, but it ran into "unforeseen technical complexities which prevented us from having this feature ready in time." The studio added that it should have been more forthcoming about crossplay not being ready in time for launch. It apologized "for the inconvenience and frustration it caused to some of our players." Sloclap has been working hard to update and optimize Rematch – it deployed two patches during the early access period. But alongside fixing bugs, Sloclap says "crossplay is our absolute highest priority." The studio said: FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder "We're committed to delivering this feature swiftly, and we'll share a more precise deadline as soon as possible. We already have a basic working version from a technical standpoint, but we need to implement the relevant interfaces, before debugging and polishing it, and finally passing console certifications successfully – all this takes time but we are doing our best to move forward quickly." Here's hoping that's resolved soon. In fairness, Sloclap has a small team and this is the first time it's offering crossplay in one of its games, so this is a new challenge for it to solve. There are other, perhaps more pressing technical issues that Sloclap is trying to resolve such as the lag, stuttering and frame drops that some players are dealing with. "Our team is currently implementing performance optimizations and settings adjustments to significantly improve stability," the studio says. "Likewise, we are continuously working on improving server stability to bring you a smoother gameplay experience across the board." Along with those problems, Sloclap is tackling issues including server and client desync, crashes, game freezes after goals and menu lockouts. It plans to deploy regular hotfixes and patches in the coming weeks to attempt to resolve those, all the while adding more features. Fixing technical problems should be the top priority for Rematch, but there are some interesting features and updates in the pipeline. In the coming months, Sloclap plans to improve slide tackles, goalkeeper mechanics, dribbling and wall contact (like in Rocket League, the ball doesn't go out of bounds and is kept in play by a barrier). Test servers are on the way to help Sloclap trial new features and other updates in a live environment. Tournament and club creation systems are in the pipeline, along with more social features and a leaderboard system for players above Elite ranking. You can expect some updates for casual play too, such as more quick play modes and AI-controlled bots for you to practice with. Again, Sloclap isn't a huge studio, so it'll be quite some time before it can add all of these. You might have to wait until next year for some of them. But here's hoping the studio can at least take care of the technical issues as soon as possible. There's clearly a large audience for Rematch, and it would be nice to have a viable alternative for the likes of EA Sports FC without game-breaking bugs getting in the way.
