
TOD teams up with Skyworth to launch 4K streaming set-top box in MENA
TOD, the sports and entertainment streaming platform in the MENA region, has announced a strategic partnership with Skyworth, a major player in set-top box (STB) technology, at Web Summit Qatar 2025. This collaboration integrates Skyworth's state-of-the-art QVWi 4K set-top box technology with TOD's premium content.
Designed for the modern digital consumer, the QVWi set-top box features a Google-driven interface with a voice-controlled remote, enabling seamless navigation and online searches. It supports Dolby Vision for ultravivid imaging and Dolby Atmos for immersive audio, providing a cinematic experience at home when paired with a compatible TV. Additionally, the device is equipped with 4K resolution and advanced High Dynamic Range (HDR) technologies, including Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG, ensuring rich colors and deep contrast for a good picture quality.

The QVWi set-top box is engineered for top-tier performance, featuring an Amlogic S905Y4 Quad A35 processor for a fast and responsive experience. Its dual-band Wi-Fi 5 ensures stable connectivity, minimising buffering and lag—key concerns for streaming consumers. The device also includes optical SPDIF for external sound systems and Bluetooth compatibility for wireless audio devices, offering flexibility in home entertainment setups. Additionally, its compatibility with various TVs and entertainment systems ensures accessibility to TOD's content for a wide range of consumers.
