One of professional wrestling's most anticipated free agents for 2025, Willow Nightingale, is officially off the market before her previous contract even expired. The popular All Elite Wrestling star has reportedly re-signed with the company on a new multi-year agreement.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported the news. It follows earlier reports this month that indicated Nightingale, a former AEW TBS Champion, was in her contract year, with her deal seemingly set to expire before the end of 2025.
Nightingale initially signed her full-time AEW contract in the fall of 2022. Many of the agreements AEW issued around that period were structured as three-year deals, which would have positioned her original contract to conclude later this year.
Nightingale undoubtedly would have garnered significant interest from every major wrestling promotion worldwide had she become a free agent, it was always believed she was unlikely to depart from Tony Khan's company. Sources had indicated that AEW viewed her as a priority talent to retain.
That sentiment has now materialized into a new contract. Sapp's report confirms Nightingale has indeed re-signed with All Elite Wrestling.

While the specific financial terms and exact length of the new contract were not disclosed in the Fightful Select report, it was noted to be a multi-year deal. This ensures she will remain a key fixture in AEW for the foreseeable future.
According to Sapp, the new agreement was completed with remarkable speed. It was reportedly finalized almost immediately after his initial report about her contract year status broke.
Furthermore, the 31-year-old Nightingale has reportedly communicated directly with AEW officials. She expressed that she was very happy with her spot in AEW and wanted to remain there, indicating a strong mutual desire to continue the working relationship.
Nightingale has been one of the more consistently featured performers in AEW's women's division. Her accomplishments include a reign as the AEW TBS Champion, a title she memorably won in 2024.
She also won the prestigious Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament in 2023, defeating Ruby Soho in the finals. Though her televised AEW match count in 2025 has been somewhat limited to eight appearances thus far, with three of those being in Japan, her impact and connection with the audience remain strong.
Her most recent AEW television match was a loss to former friend Kris Statlander on a recent episode of AEW Collision. Nightingale is currently involved in a storyline feud with Marina Shafir as part of the ongoing Death Riders angle.

AEW Veteran Reportedly Sidelined With Serious Injury
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The fairytale TNT Championship reign of Dustin Rhodes has come to a tragic and premature end. A new report has confirmed that the wrestling veteran is set to undergo double knee surgery and will be out of action until at least 2026. This news comes just days after Rhodes lost the championship to Kyle Fletcher in a brutal street fight on AEW Collision. His reign, which began with an emotional victory at All In: Texas, has been cut short after just one successful defense. A Brutal End To A Fairytale Reign On the July 26th episode of AEW Collision, Dustin Rhodes defended his TNT Title against Kyle Fletcher of the Don Callis Family. During the violent street fight, Fletcher hit Rhodes in the head with a screwdriver before delivering a Brainbuster to capture the championship. After the match, Fletcher continued the assault, targeting Rhodes' knee. The segment ended with the former champion being taken away on a stretcher. Rhodes later confirmed on social media that he would need a "very invasive major surgery" and shut down any speculation that the injury was just a storyline. We couldn't be more proud of you, @DustinRhodes. Get well soon! — All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) August 3, 2025 The "Natural": A Legendary Career Dustin Rhodes has had one of the most unique and enduring careers in wrestling history. He is most famously known for his revolutionary "Goldust" character in WWE during the Attitude Era. The bizarre, androgynous, and controversial gimmick became iconic, and Dustin's incredible talent as a performer made it one of the most memorable characters of all time. He'll be out of action for an extended period, with no return expected before 2026. After leaving WWE, he experienced a massive career renaissance in AEW. His bloody and emotional match against his brother, Cody Rhodes, at the first Double or Nothing pay-per-view in 2019 is considered an all-time classic. The match proved that even after three decades in the business, "The Natural" could still perform at an elite level. An Emotional Championship Victory His long journey culminated last month at the All In: Texas pay-per-view at Globe Life Field. In an emotional and surprising moment, Dustin Rhodes won a multi-man match to capture the TNT Championship, his first major singles title in AEW. The fairytale victory was seen as a well-deserved reward for a lifetime of dedication to the business. Unfortunately, that dream run was cut tragically short by this legitimate injury. The wrestling world now wishes the legendary "Natural" a full and speedy recovery. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

Randy Orton and Jelly Roll May Be Working Together Again
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The on-screen partnership between Randy Orton and Jelly Roll was one of the highlights of SummerSlam weekend, and it may now extend into the music world. A new report suggests that the country music superstar has pitched the idea of recording a new version of Orton's iconic theme song, "Voices." According to a new report from Fightful Select, this collaboration may be more than just an idea. Insiders reveal that Jelly Roll approached Orton backstage with the proposal, and "The Viper" was reportedly enthusiastic about it. A New "Voice" for Randy Orton The report states that many within WWE believe Randy Orton will champion the idea to management. If the cover comes to fruition, it could offer a fresh and modern twist on a song that has been synonymous with Orton's legendary career for over 15 years. This development is particularly interesting given Orton's history with his theme. It was previously reported in 2023 that WWE had attempted to change his entrance music, a move that Orton himself rejected in favor of keeping his classic anthem. His reported enthusiasm for a Jelly Roll version shows the level of respect he has for the artist. The Legacy Of "Voices" Randy Orton's theme song, "Voices," performed by the band Rev Theory, is one of the most iconic entrance themes in modern WWE history. The haunting opening line, "I hear voices in my head," perfectly encapsulates his methodical and sadistic "Viper" persona. The song has been the soundtrack to the majority of his 14 world championship reigns and his Hall of Fame-worthy career.
