Motion, an iconic 4000 person capacity nightclub, was once a skate park in the 90s but has since turned into an integral part of the city's nightlife.
However, much like a number of other music venues across the country, the club has struggled with securing a permanent residence.
In November last year nightclub bosses said they had submitted a "strong, careful thought-out bid" to its landlords but were still uncertain about the club's future.
A post on the club's Instagram said: "Our bid makes it crystal clear: Motion isn't just a nightclub. It's a vital piece of Bristol's cultural and economic ecosystem.
"We'll keep pushing, we'll keep fighting and we'll keep working towards a future where Motion - and spaces like it - can thrive."
But despite their best efforts, bosses have since confirmed that the lease will not be renewed when it expires in July.
A message on the club's website said: "Unfortunately, we've recently received confirmation that our lease will not be renewed when it expires in July 2025, placing the future of the venue in serious jeopardy.
"In response, we've submitted a bid to purchase the property in an effort to safeguard Motion's legacy.
"However, as time passes and with no response from the landowners, it's becoming increasingly clear that the opportunity to stay is slipping away.
Dozens of revellers were left heartbroken upon hearing the news, with many jumping online to share their disappointment.

One said: "I'm so angry that this venue couldn't secure the protection and life it needed. I do look forward to what comes next."
Another added: "This made me cry. My favourite venue. Met some amazing people & made beautiful memories."
A third commented: "This is so sad , absolutely loved motion everytime I've been there."
Motion, which opened its doors in 2003, is located in the centre of town beside the River Avon and consists of five indoor spaces.
The main room can hold up to 1,600 people and its smaller room another 600 revellers.
It's famous for hosting some of the biggest names in music having booked the likes of Jeff Mills, Floating Points, and Chase and Status to name just a few.

Tradwife Has Been Added To The Cambridge Dictionary - But What Does It Mean?
We live in an age where new words are creeping into our lexicon all the time, thanks to the internet and big shifts in popular culture. And there's no better way to see these shifts than what's been added to the Cambridge dictionary each year. For 2025, one of the new words is 'tradwife' (along with Gen Z's fave slang Skibidi and TikTok's delulu). But what does tradwife mean? And who are some popular examples? According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a tradwife is a 'married woman, especially one who posts on social media, who stays at home doing cooking, cleaning, etc. and has children that she takes care of.' Shorthand for 'traditional wife', the term has been around since 2018, but has become more popular after a growing trend on Instagram and TikTok has shown more young women embrace traditional gender roles. Two of the most famous tradwifes on social media are Hannah Neeleman, aka Ballerina Farm, and Nara Smith. Both have amassed cult followings on social media, where they show videos of their daily life cooking, caring for the home, and raising children - all while looking impossibly glamorous and together while they do it. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar last year, Nara addressed her thoughts on being labelled a tradwife, saying she doesn't view herself in that way. 'That's one of the narratives that I have a really hard time wrapping my head around: the tradwife, whatever it is,' she said. 'You don't see me getting on a plane, hopping to New York, modelling, coming back – all while I have a newborn – paying bills, filming content, getting my kids dressed.' In a 2024 interview with The Sunday Times, we had a glimpse into glimpse Neeleman's day-to-day life as a mother of eight on the family's Utah farm. The interview garnered significant interest, because Neelman also spoke about how she didn't associate herself with the term. 'We are traditional in the sense that it's a man and a woman,' she said of her dynamic with her husband, Daniel. 'We have children, but I do feel like we're paving a lot of paths that haven't been paved before. So for me to have the label of a traditional woman,' adding 'I don't know if I identify with that.' The content is both incredibly popular on social media, and also controversial. Caro Claire Burke, a media critic who has been investigating the growth of Trad Wife influencers, previously told Grazia this is down to the way the working women who want children have been failed by society. 'In America [like the UK], our childcare situation is abysmal, there is no support for working families,' Burke says. 'Now there are so many women who are looking at these idealised versions of motherhood – or women to whom mothering isn't immediately associated with financial stress – and it's so addictive to watch because it's something we just can't get right.' She continued: 'These women are homemakers but they're also businesswomen profiting off this performance of homemaking. They're inordinately wealthy... enjoying their lives cooking these beautiful meals and spending time with their children, it's like the one major thing woman can't have – a successful career and be with your children.' Only The Chicest Women Are Wearing This Gingham Jacket - It's Bound To Sell Out
@Instagram/@inesisaias, @nobodyschild There really is no escaping gingham, not even as the weather changes. What began as a somewhat comforting nostalgic memoir to summer terms at school, picnic blankets and Judy Garland's pinafore in The Wizard Of Oz , has now turned into a trend with staying power. This summer, gingham was spotted on, well, everything. From Olivia Rodrigo's archival Ralph Lauren check mini dress, to Uniqlo's sell-out trousers and those boxer shorts, but, rather than disappearing with the last Aperol Spritz of August, gingham looks to be a continuing trend as we head further into autumn/winter 2025. The evidence is everywhere. Take Louis Vuitton's autumn/winter 2025 show, where supersized red and black checks appeared on asymmetric mini dresses, styled with black knee-high socks - a somewhat tongue-in-cheek revival of said schoolyard charm. While designers chose to strip gingham of its naivety, the high street offers noticeably lighter and brighter interpretations, perfect for the upcoming shift in seasons as we enter a cooler September. ©Instagram/@elisaboto, @nobodyschild Nobody's Child, Blue Gingham Swing Jacket The newest jacket to join the Nobody's Child viral hall of fame is its Gingham Swing Jacket. With long sleeves, a preppy collar and button-up front, style the jacket over the top of a knit, or a t-shirt and jeans. It is, however, Nobody's Child I always find myself looking to for standout gingham pieces, and it's the Blue Gingham Swing Jacket that's recently caught my eye, thanks to a flurry of fashion people wearing it at Copenhagen Fashion Week. A style the brand describes as 'the perfect throw-on-and-go layer', its Gingham Swing Jacket features a preppy collar, long sleeves, side pockets and a length that hits just below the hip. If you're on the hunt for ways to style the Nobody's Child gingham jacket, Copenhagen Fashion Week offers inspiration aplenty. Wear yours with clashing prints, like polka dots (which also happen to be a 2025 wardrobe mainstay), or subtle stripes. A simple pair of black capri pants (or pedal pushers) and a white baby tee will also make for an effortlessly cool look. Alternatively, the gingham jacket will work equally as well with a pair of jeans and a neutral knit - whether you're in full maximalist mode or prefer a more pared-back way of dressing, the jacket transitions easily, proving that it's just as relevant in autumn as it was in the summer. ©Instagram/@inesisaias, @nobodyschild Almost like clockwork, each year, Nobody's Child releases another excellent jacket that's made of potential viral material. Last year, it was the Double-Breasted Trench Coat that London's It-girls took a liking to, as it was spotted on both Poppy Delevingne and Anais Gallagher. This year, if Copenhagen Fashion Week is anything to go by (which anyone in the fashion industry will tell you, it absolutely is), then the jacket of the moment will be the Gingham Swing Jacket. It's a design that's not only destined to sell out (and I imagine in record time, too), but it's also one that proves gingham is refusing to hibernate this autumn/winter. Aligne, Nathan Check Quilted Jacket Aligne's gingham jacket offering comes in the form of its Nathan style. Designed with large checks and a goes-with-everything navy colourway, the jacket is a good one for the cooler months as it's thicker than a classic trench. Boden, Knightsbridge Gingham Jacket Boden's take on a collared gingham jacket is equal parts preppy and modern. Featuring retro accents like a back box pleat and sharp collar, style with its matching gingham trousers, or with a mini skirt and knee-high biker boots. Damson Madder, Mercedes Bow Reversible Trench Damson Madder's gingham reversible trench is a style that's previously gone viral - and it's easy to see why. With its multi-pleat detailing, back bow and reversible design, style the gingham way with jeans and ballet flats, or the cream way with a midi skirt and graphic t-shirt. Free People, Chloe Gingham Cotton Jacket Free People's gingham jacket is closer to a quilted jacket than a trench, but that makes it ideal for the cooler weather. With a stand collar and dropped shoulders, pair the laid-back jacket with a pair of baggy trousers and a cap. OnlyFans star Lil Tay, 18, brutally slams women who work traditional nine to five jobs: 'You are a failure'
OnlyFans star Lil Tay, born Claire Hope, has slammed women over the age of 25 who work a traditional nine to five job in a bizarre Instagram video posted on Saturday - and she did not hold back. The rapper and OnlyFans star sparked fierce backlash as she railed against those who have normal professions - after bragging about her earnings from the adult content site. 'If you're over the age of 25 and you're still working a nine to five, you are a failure,' Lil Tay said bluntly to her 5.7 million followers. 'Like by then, you should've already made your bag,' she continued. She then encouraged ladies to join the adult content creation site OnlyFans like her. 'Who gives a f**k what anybody thinks, screw your family, my family kicked me out, I got disowned, they don't talk to me anymore, they don't f**k with me, but who gives a s**t?' Lil Tay claimed. 'I can literally buy their whole life if I wanted to, I'm good,' she added. In the video, she also told followers to 'f**k an education' and claimed that going to Harvard University would have never helped her make eight figures. 'If you're over the age of 25 and you're still working a 9 to 5, you are a failure,' Lil Tay said bluntly to her 5.7 million followers Interestingly enough, Lil Tay is new to the OnlyFans platform, as she joined last month just one day after she turned 18. When she launched her OnlyFans, Lil Tay promised fans glimpses of her 'birthday suit' and, within just two hours of joining the adult content platform, she had 100,000 subscribers. By the third hour, she had raked in over $1 million, posting a screenshot of her earnings with the caption: 'We broke the f**k out of that OnlyFans record.' At the time, her announcement sparked some backlash, as some of her dedicated fans branded the news as 'deranged' and slammed those who had subscribed to her page. While she may be making a pretty penny from OnlyFans, many users in the comments section of her new Instagram post weren't fans of her bold message. 'Sorry girl but I'm going to college,' one person wrote. Another agreed, 'So being a doctor means I'll be a failure?' 'Nice rage bait,' someone else typed. Although she may be making a pretty penny from OnlyFans, many users in the comments section of her new Instagram post weren't fans of her bold message Lil Tay first went viral in 2017 at age nine after posting videos full of foul language and violent behavior. It later came out that her brother Jason was feeding her lines off-camera, sparking concerns that she was being exploited by her family for money. Around the same time, her mom, Angela Tian, lost her job as a real estate agent for allegedly using her employer's properties and cars in her daughter's videos. After a brief hiatus, her Instagram account suddenly went dark. Then, in 2018, Lil Tay became the center of a nasty custody battle between her estranged parents that played out heavily in the media. In August 2023, a post from Tay's verified Instagram account claimed that both she and her brother had died. A day later, TMZ reported that both siblings were alive.
