Meghan Markle 'left in tears' over Prince Williams statement. Here's what happened
Meghan Markle was reportedly left in tears after a palace statement – released without Prince Harry's approval – appeared to protect Prince William while leaving the Duke and Duchess of Sussex feeling abandoned by 'The Firm'. The emotional incident, discussed in the Sussexes' Netflix series 'Harry & Meghan', shines a light on a major moment in the brothers' now fractured relationship. Prince Harry claimed that a joint statement denying reports that Prince William had "bullied" him and Meghan out of the Royal Family was issued using his name—without his consent. 'I couldn't believe it,' Harry said in the documentary. 'No one had asked me permission.' After he told Meghan about the statement, she 'burst into floods of tears', he added. The joint statement was released shortly after a story surfaced claiming William's actions were part of the reason behind Harry and Meghan's decision to step down as senior royals and move to the United States. Harry went on to express his frustration that the Palace, in his view, was quick to protect his brother's reputation but refused to correct what he describes as false stories about him and Meghan over the years. "For three years, they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us,' he said, 'yet within four hours, they were happy to lie to protect my brother." The fallout has added to what many royal watchers call one of the most painful rifts in modern royal history. Once united by their shared grief over the loss of their mother, Diana, Princes William and Harry are now living very separate lives—William in the UK, and Harry in California with Meghan and their two children - Archie and Lilibet. Despite the ongoing tensions, there are signs of a slow effort to rebuild connections. According to The Mail on Sunday, Harry's senior UK communications adviser Liam Maguire and his top US aide Meredith Maines flew in to London recently for informal talks with King Charles's top media official, Tobyn Andreae. The meeting was reportedly casual, held over drinks, with no set agenda. A source close to the meeting said, 'There's a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years.' Whether these early talks will lead to a lasting peace between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family remains to be seen. For now, the emotional wounds appear to still run deep.

Kevin Hart And John Cena To Star In Action-Comedy ‘The Leading Man', Deets Inside
Last Updated: Kevin Hart and John Cena have joined forces for the Netflix action comedy 'The Leading Man', which is based on a comic book series from Jeremy Haun and B. Clay Moore. Kevin Hart and John Cena are to star in The Leading Man. The Jumanji actor and the Blockers star will also serve as producers on the Netflix action comedy, which is based on a comic book series from Jeremy Haun and B. Clay Moore. The logline for the movie explains the plot as: 'When a self-absorbed movie star (Cena) discovers that his co-star/man in the chair (Hart) is an actual agent, he's forced to swallow his pride and accept that action stars aren't really action heroes…while trying to save the world." The script has been written by Jon and Erich Hoeber, and the project is currently in early development. Kevin's production company Hartbeat has a multi-film deal with Netflix and he will produce alongside his colleagues Luke Kelly-Clyne and Bryan Smiley, as will Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum for RK Films, Eric Gitter and Peter Schwerin for Ignition Productions, John , and Dan Baime. Kevin is currently working on Netflix comedy 72 Hours, which is directed by Tim Story and also stars Mason Gooding and Marcello Hernandez, while John has also recently been shooting a comedy for the streaming service, Little Brother with Eric Andre. He can most recently be seen in Heads of State, which has drawn over 75 million viewers worldwide since its debut on Prime Video last month. He's also got Matchbox coming up, as well as the second season of Peacemaker. Meanwhile, Kevin recently admitted he feels he has a 'responsibility" to the next wave of actors and actresses. Speaking to Extra, The Get Hard star explained: 'I am very aware that I am getting older and turning into a vet in our business. 'We do have a responsibility, and that responsibility is to try to position those that are next in the best way to exceed what we've done and go above and beyond … If it was set up for us to kind of just step and repeat and have the same layer of a success as the ones before us, then the business would pretty much have already peaked. 'The business only continues to grow and succeed and reach new levels because of what people are doing and creating underneath. So, I can only hope that this generation of amazing talent and actors, actresses, entrepreneurs, influencers, you know, the next wave of funny and the next wave of drama, like, they're real. The next wave of directors and producers are real." Kevin sees it as his responsibility to help to 'open as many doors" as possible for the next generation of movie stars. The Ride Along actor – who has worked with the likes of Ice Cube and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson during his film career – said: 'All we can try to do is kick open as many doors for them to discover new locks to the doors behind." Hansal Mehta's ‘Gandhi' To Premiere At Toronto International Film Festival 2025
Last Updated: Hansal Mehta's Gandhi, starring Pratik Gandhi, becomes the first Indian series selected for TIFF's Primetime Programme. In a landmark moment for Indian storytelling, Applause Entertainment's much-anticipated international series Gandhi, directed by Hansal Mehta and starring Pratik Gandhi, will have its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The series has been officially selected for TIFF's prestigious Primetime Programme, making it the first Indian series ever to be showcased in the festival's dedicated celebration of long-form storytelling. Adapted from historian Ramachandra Guha's definitive biographies, Gandhi is envisioned as a sweeping, multi-season epic that reimagines the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi—not as the saintly figure etched in history, but as the young, flawed, and ambitious man still finding his way in the world. Season One: An Untold Story of Becoming (1888–1915) will chronicle Gandhi's early years, beginning with his adolescence in colonial India, his awkward stint as a law student in London, and his transformative 23 years in South Africa. It's a tale of contradictions, failures, awakenings, and self-discovery—long before he became the Mahatma, he was simply Mohan. TIFF Primetime, which began in 2015, has previously hosted acclaimed series like Alfonso Cuarón's Disclaimer, Shawn Levy and Steven Knight's All the Light We Cannot See, and Netflix's first German original Dark. Gandhi now joins this distinguished roster, marking a significant cultural milestone for Indian content on the global stage. Producer and Applause Entertainment MD Sameer Nair called the selection 'both an honour and a moment of immense pride." He added, 'Taking you up close and personal to the young Mohan way before he became the man history knows, this series is the culmination of deep research, creative development, and unwavering belief in the human story we wanted to tell. TIFF will be the first time our Gandhi will be seen by audiences. To begin that journey on such a global platform is the perfect start." For director and showrunner Hansal Mehta, the project is deeply personal, 'Gandhi has been the most creatively challenging and soul-stirring journey of my career. It's not just a story from our past—it's a meditation on conscience, a portrait of a man in constant conflict with himself and his times. TIFF has previously been home to some of my most precious work, and to have perhaps the most ambitious story of my career premiering there is doubly special—particularly in TIFF's 50th year." The TIFF premiere will be attended by key members of the team including Sameer Nair, Hansal Mehta, Siddharth Khaitan, Pratik Gandhi, as well as Tom Felton and Kabir Bedi. Backed by an accomplished creative team, the series features music by A.R. Rahman, with writing credits to Vaibhav Vishal, Karan Vyas, Felix von Stumm, Hema Gopinathan, Sehaj Kaur Maini, and Yashna Malhotra. Script guidance came from Siddhartha Basu and Ramachandra Guha himself. Casting was handled by Mukesh Chhabra (India) and Shakyra Dowling (International), with production design by Shashank Tere, costumes by Pia Benegal, and cinematography by Pratham Mehta—all contributing to the show's authenticity and scale. The world will now meet Gandhi not as the Mahatma, but as the man in the making, when the series makes its debut at TIFF 2025.
