Did you get a text like this? GA Dept. Of Drivers Services warns it's a scam
Here's how it works: the criminal will send you a text message asking you to follow a fraudulent link and pay an outstanding traffic ticket.
The message claims to be from the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles. However, that agency does not exist in Georgia.

The link takes you to a website that looks similar to the official DDS site, but it's not.
'DDS employees do not contact customers to ask for payment or other confidential information. Anyone who receives such communication should consider it a scam. Customers who are pending a license suspension or other changes in their license status are notified in writing by DDS. Anyone who receives these — or similar — text messages should not open or respond to them and instead delete such messages immediately,' DDS Commissioner Angelique B. McClendon said.

Police find, impound truck from deadly hit and run in Marietta
Marietta police said Friday they had found and impounded the truck believed to be involved in a deadly hit and run. The incident happened on Wednesday around 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 75 northbound at South Marietta Parkway. Cable detaches on Ohio amusement park ride
A cable on a ride at a popular Ohio amusement park detached while people were riding it on Sunday. Charges dropped against man accused of trying to kidnap child at Walmart
Charges have been dropped against a man accused of trying to kidnap a child at a Walmart in Acworth. Mahendra Patel appeared in Cobb County Superior Court on Wednesday. The Cobb County District Attorney's Office announced it will no longer move forward with prosecuting his case. Acworth police arrested Patel after Caroline Miller said she stopped him from kidnapping her 2-year-old son inside Walmart. She said Patel asked her for help finding the Tylenol. When she pointed to it, she said he grabbed her 2-year-old son out of her hands. Patel and his attorney, Ashleigh Merchant, have maintained his innocence. They said he only reached for the boy because he thought he was going to fall off a motorized scooter that his mother was using.
