ITC will ban iPhones with BOE displays from being sold in the US
The ITC ruling includes two orders – a limited exclusion order and a cease and desist order. The first prevents Apple from importing infringing iPhones into the US. The latter prohibits Apple from using existing inventory and further production or sales activities.
This hasn't come into effect yet – the import ban is expected to kick in with the final ruling in November. ETNews, which has been following the suit, reports that preliminary rulings are rarely overturned. After November, there is a two-month period during which President Trump will be able to veto the final ruling.
Apple sources components from multiple manufacturers, e.g. iPhone displays are made by Samsung, LG and BOE. BOE typically makes the non-ProMotion displays on vanilla phones – in fact, it supplied the majority of iPhone 16e displays.
However, @Jukanlosreve recently reported that Apple has approved BOE display panels for iPhone 17 Pro phones that will be exclusively sold in China. Of course, ITC's ban has no influence on sales in China, but it may have affected how Apple distributes production quotas between its display suppliers. Also, the future iPhone Fold is safe, since it will use Samsung Display panels.
Besides the ITC suit, Samsung Display filed a suit with the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas seeking compensation for lost operating profit plus punitive damages over BOE's infringement.

If we are talking about the main iPhone 17 lineup – including the regular iPhone 17 , the brand-new iPhone 17 Air , and the higher-end Pro and Pro Max models – they should all drop at the same time this September. So, yes, don't expect an iPhone 17 Plus this year. Apple is ditching the larger non-Pro model altogether and giving us something lighter and thinner instead. That's where the new Air model comes in. But there is one more model missing from the fall party: the iPhone 17e. This is expected to be the follow-up to the iPhone 16e, which already replaced the SE line as Apple's budget option. If you are eyeing an upgrade, you won't have to wait much longer. By early September, Apple will likely have the iPhone 17 lineup up for preorder and by late September, it should be in your hands. Poco X8 Pro may have already been certified
The Poco X7 and X7 Pro debuted back in January, and the brand is apparently already working on the X8 Pro. This device may have just received its EEC certification, with the model number 2511FPC34G. This model number has recently been spotted in an IMEI database as belonging to the Poco X8 Pro, which will be a rebranded version of the upcoming China-exclusive Redmi Turbo 5, that one bearing the model number 2511FRT34C. If all of this pans out, then the Poco X8 Pro should be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 8500 SoC, and it should boast a 6.67-inch OLED screen with "1.5K" resolution. A metal frame and an overall thin and light build will also be in. Those are unfortunately all the details we have right now, but we'll let you know when we find out more. Samsung may have developed a way to keep the Exynos 2600 cooler
This week we've seen the Exynos 2600 post impressive results on Geekbench and 3DMark. Reports from Korea claim that Samsung has developed a cool new trick for this chip – a Heat Pass Block (HPB) that promises to cool the application processor (AP) better than previous approaches. A 'chipset' is just that – several chips, usually arranged in a package-on-package structure, which places the RAM on top of the application processor (this is the silicon die that holds the CPU, GPU, NPU and other components). The Heat Pass Block adds another layer to that stack – a copper heat sink. This is similar to the heat spreaders that are typical in modern designs. Heat spreaders, however, are added after the package-on-package structure has been assembled. The advantage of the HPB is that it is much closer to the source of the heat, which should allow it to pull heat away more efficiently. An example of package-on-package stacking, without an HPB The Exynos 2600 will be fabbed on Samsung's 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process and is expected to ship with the Galaxy S26 series. We wouldn't be surprised to see a Snapdragon chip in some or all Galaxy S26 Ultras. However, whether the other S26 models get the Z Flip7 treatment (Exynos in all markets) or whether chip selection varies by market remains to be seen. Samsung is expected to complete quality testing of the Exynos 2600 and should officially unveil the chip around the same time. The Galaxy S26 series should be out in late January or early February.
