Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, along with her family, visits Badrinath
Chamoli (Uttarakhand) [India], June 2 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reached Badrinath Dham with her family on Monday.
Earlier today, she, along with her family, visited Kedarnath Dham and offered prayers.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is visiting Uttarakhand with her family following the 100-day completion of the BJP government in Delhi.
After offering prayers at Kedarnath Dham, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said, 'I feel fortunate to get the opportunity to offer prayers at Kedarnath Dham along with my family. I wish Baba gives us enough strength to achieve the target of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Delhi. I hope Baba Kedar gives me the strength to work for the development of Delhi,' the Delhi Chief Minister said after taking darshan at Kedarnath Dham.
On Sunday, CM Gupta took a holy dip in the Ganga in Haridwar and vowed to clean the Yamuna River so that people could also do so. She also met Swami Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj at Harihar Ashram in Haridwar.
CM Gupta stated, 'It is a feeling of immense joy. Yesterday, the government completed 100 days of rule in Delhi. Yesterday we did Aarti in the Yamuna river, and today, after taking a dip in the Ganga, I really feel that the pace of development in Delhi will now pick up speed. Today, after taking the blessings of Gurujan, I am feeling more powerful within myself. I have a sense of responsibility. Delhi, which has been suffering for many years, now that the government has come, it is our responsibility to ensure Delhi progresses. I ask for the strength that whatever the aspirations of the people are, I am able to fulfil them.'
'I prayed to God that the way lakhs of devotees come to Haridwar to worship River Ganga, in the same way, River Yamuna can be cleaned so that people can take a holy dip there,' she added.
CM Rekha Gupta, accompanied by her family, also visited the Har Ki Pauri ghat in Haridwar on Sunday and took a holy dip in the Ganga river.
After taking a holy dip in the Ganga at Har Ki Pauri, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said, 'Taking blessings from Maa Ganga, we will work to make Maa Yamuna clean and beautiful. We will work to speed up the development of Delhi. Taking the blessings of Maa, I feel very satisfied that as the Chief Minister of Delhi, I will be able to do better work for Delhi.' (ANI)

Why A Mega Dalit Outreach Is Part Of BJP's Plan For Poll-Bound Bihar From June 20
Last Updated: Caste arithmetic and an unfavourable result in the elections last year have prompted the party to take steps to win the poll battle The BJP has decided to go all out to woo Dalits of poll-bound Bihar, even before seat-sharing talks have begun among the NDA constituents for the upcoming election. Starting June 20, the party will target the Ravidas community by organising the Sant Shiromani Ravidas Sammelan-cum-honour ceremony in Bihar. Sant Ravidas, a 15th-century Bhakti saint, is a significant figure in the Dalit community and is widely recognised as a Dalit icon. Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated Ravidas' 647th birth anniversary in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi. Now, with Bihar election around the corner, BJP has decided to hold such conclaves in different districts and created a schedule for that. News18 has learnt that BJP has fixed conclave dates for Begusarai on June 20, Samastipur on June 22, Madhubani on June 25, Bagaha and Bhagalpur on June 29, Saharsa on June 30, Muzaffarpur and Siwan on July 6, Darbhanga on July 7, Gaya on July 13, Banka on July 16, Arwal on July 18, Khagaria and Sitamarhi on July 20 and Gopalganj on July 31, which will be the season finale. There will also be a special conclave through which Dalit outreach efforts will be made in Bihar's capital Patna though the date for it is not yet finalised. The party wants the Patna conclave to be a show-stopper with big names in attendance, and hence, the date will depend on their availability, say BJP sources. But why the focus on Dalits? Sources in the know suggest there are two reasons behind it. One is pure caste arithmetic. Though the Ravidas community constitutes just 5 per cent of Bihar's voters, if the total Dalit pie in Bihar is taken into consideration, the number jumps to 19 per cent. While BJP is confident about upper castes and OBC support of a few, JDU too brings OBC strengths. Even NDA's smaller allies like Rashtriya Lok Morcha leader Upendra Kushwaha can influence OBC votes. Only former Bihar CM Jitin Ram Majhi's Hindustan Awam Morcha-Secular(HAM-S) and LJP (RV) Chirag Paswan have limited sway over those known as the backwards. The second reason stems from an unfavourable experience in last year's Lok Sabha election when the BJP-led NDA lost nine Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. In 2019 Lok Sabha polls, NDA won 39 seats while in 2024, it managed to win 30. In neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, the situation was even more grim. The BJP-led NDA lost a whopping 28 seats. Later, BJP went on record to accept that Congress managed to twist BJP's '400 paar' campaign slogan as fear mongering among Dalit voters, suggesting their reservation rights are on the line. This worked against the BJP in the two Hindi heartland states. Since June 4 last year, when the results were declared, BJP has taken corrective measures to win the narrative war. However, the party feels that with no big alliance partner that has a solid grip among the Dalit community, the outreach is the best way forward. Sources in the BJP say the plan to carpet-bomb the Ravidas Sammelans was conceived in mid-May when Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Bihar Police stopped him on his way to Ambedkar hostel in Darbhanga, adding that 'they could not stop me because your power (minority community) is watching over me". Back then, Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal had hit out at Gandhi, saying: 'He should use his mind. If he had to use a government building or hostel, he should have sent an official itinerary. He is the Leader of Opposition and a state president of a party has to teach this?" However, it is learnt that this visit may have worked as a catalyst for the state BJP to pre-emptively launch a mega Dalit outreach, having learnt its lessons last year. It just also felt that a global initiative has to be there and a consensus has to be created across the world against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations."The multi-party delegation , led by Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MP Supriya Sule , had earlier visited South Africa, Ethiopia, and Qatar before arriving in visit aimed to strengthen diplomatic ties, reinforce India's commitment to peace, and update international partners on India's response to the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir 's Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were killed on April their visit, Sule and the delegation held a constructive meeting with Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in the New Administrative Capital. Abdelatty condemned the Pahalgam attack and assured India of Egypt's continued support, stating such acts of terror would not be tolerated."We had a constructive meeting with the Foreign Minister. He reassured us that India and Egypt must work together in peace, trade, and culture, as the two nations are uniquely placed," Sule added that the Egyptian leadership was among the first to reach out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the April 22 attack, expressing solidarity and reaffirming their commitment to peace and the global fight against terrorism."Under the leadership of our Prime Minister, we had Operation Sindoor, and as a part of that, this is an activity which the Honourable Prime Minister wanted all of us to do. We have come here not just as Members of Parliament or ideologues. We have come as Indians to tell the world what has happened in India five weeks ago," she also addressed the spread of misinformation, stating, "The world has changed, technology has changed our lives, and so has social media and the kind of information going around--some of it factual, some of it deep fake. The Honourable Prime Minister formed seven groups of five MPs each and sent them to four to five countries over the last 10 days."As part of this global outreach, Sule's group interacted with local leaders, opinion makers, and think tanks in Cairo. The delegation also paid floral tributes at the Heliopolis War Memorial in honour of Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during World War I and World War delegation included Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Vikramjeet Singh Sahney, Manish Tewari, Anurag Singh Thakur, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Anand Sharma, V Muraleedharan, and Syed Akbaruddin.

Indian envoy to Egypt calls Operation Sindoor delegation ‘crucial' to tackle Pakistani misinformation
As an all-party delegation led by NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule visited Egypt, Indian Ambassador to Egypt Suresh K Reddy called it a "crucial visit" and said the delegation played an important role in countering misinformation spread by Pakistan. Speaking to ANI, Reddy said, "In the age of social media and information overload, it is important that correct information is shared with everybody. This delegation was crucial to dispel the misinformation spread by Pakistan. It would help to convey the right message, so countries can ask Pakistan the right questions." He added that the visit reflected the strength of India's democracy, as it helped communicate the public sentiment following recent terror attacks. "This was an essential visit because it reflects the strength of our democracy. It helped to convey the outrage and the sentiments of the people of India. This was communicated well and also received well by Egypt," Reddy said. He added, "They (delegation) had very good engagement with the leaders of Egypt. They met the Leader of the House (Upper House of the Senate) and many distinguished Senators. After it, they had a meeting with the House of Representatives, the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and other members. Their exchanges were very productive. They understood our position and strongly condemned the terrorism. They specifically stated that terrorism cannot be accepted in any form. There is no justification for terrorism." The Ambassador also mentioned that the delegation had interactions with opinion makers and the Indian community in Egypt. "This was later followed by interaction with the opinion makers... we exchanged many views. This was later followed by the vibrant Indian community in Egypt was grateful that the delegation came here and explained the situation in India to them. They shared their outrage with the members of the delegation," he said. Earlier on Tuesday, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MP Supriya Sule, who is leading the all-party delegation to Egypt, said that the group held a constructive meeting with Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. He reassured them that India and Egypt need to work together in peace, trade, and culture, as the two nations are uniquely placed. While interacting with local leaders, opinion makers, and think tanks in Cairo, Sule expressed gratitude to Egyptian leadership for standing firmly with India during the challenging and painful time and expressed his commitment to peace. He said that India launched Operation Sindoor under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She said that PM Modi sent seven groups of parliamentary delegations to several nations. The delegation, led by Supriya Sule, includes Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Vikramjeet Singh Sahney, Manish Tewari, Anurag Singh Thakur, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Anand Sharma, V Muraleedharan and Syed Akbaruddin.
