Universal Orlando's new theme park, Epic Universe, opened to the public on Thursday, May 22. It consists of five new lands for parkgoers to explore, including the highly anticipated SUPER NINTENDO WORLD.
Epic Universe is located in Universal's new south campus, about 15 minutes away from its other parks. The official address is 4700 E. Sand Lake Road in Orlando.

Universal described the new world as a 'multi-sensory environment where guests can experience the fun and adventure of Nintendo games in a whole new way" in a previous news release.
'As guests emerge from the pipe, vibrant scenery and exciting kinetic energy surround them as they are greeted by the familiar sights and sounds that they've experienced on their Nintendo game consoles – from the towering Mt. Beanpole and majestic Peach's Castle to swaying Piranha Plants, pacing Goombas, spinning coins, '?' Blocks and more,' according to Universal.

What is the difference between Hollywood and Orlando SUPER NINTENDO WORLD?

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD has three rides for guests to experience.
Gamers can experience some of their favorite Mario Kart courses in real life on Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge. You will also throw shells and collect digital coins to beat Team Bowser.
Universal also shared that the ride has multiple different outcomes, meaning it will be different every time you ride it.
Over at Mine-Cart Madness, guests will enter the majestic Golden Temple and take off on the family coaster to help Donkey Kong protect the Golden Banana.
Yoshi's Adventure will give guests 'breathtaking views of Super Mario Land as they join Yoshis and travel through Mushroom Kingdom landscapes in search of glowing eggs – encountering many familiar characters along the way,' according to Universal.
What are the restaurants at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Epic Universe?
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD has four different eateries, allowing guests to dine like their favorite video game characters.

Nintendo denies Switch 2 report claiming that Japanese retailers are getting a bigger cut of each sale following a timely drop in stocks and shares

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Nintendo has publicly debunked a report claiming that the company is allowing Japanese retailers to earn more from each Nintendo Switch 2 console sold. While the Nintendo Switch 2 looks poised to be a success no matter how you shake it, Nintendo has taken some unconventional approaches to the launch of its new console. For example, a Japanese-only version of the console which is selling for 20,000 Yen less than the multi-language version. Even the Mario Kart World bundle is a bit of an unconventional choice, since the last Nintendo console to come bundled with a game at launch was the Wii back in 2006 (and even then, Wii Sports was only a pack-in after Reggie Fils-Amié fought for it). Just ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 launching later this week, Bloomberg reported that Nintendo would be giving a bigger cut of every Nintendo Switch 2 sold to retailers. "Store operators will be able to make a gross margin of about 5% on each Switch 2 sold, higher than the informal industry standard of roughly 2%" the report said, adding "The decision will help bolster domestic retailers and ensure the new console is given prominent placement at outlets across the country." Around four hours later, Nintendo took to Twitter to debunk the rumour: "A news report related to the wholesale price of Nintendo Switch 2 in the Japanese market was published. We want to clarify that this report is not true. Nintendo does not disclose any information regarding business conditions with distribution and retail partners."While Nintendo is well known for not commenting on rumours, on Monday (when this report was published) Nintendo shares dropped which likely led the publisher to make a public statement about the report. If you can't get a Switch 2, now might be the time to get a Playdate

It's a great time to be a handheld gaming enthusiast. Last week Lenovo launched a version of its Legion Go S that comes with SteamOS, an addition that improves a capable portable PC. Nintendo has the stage this week, as the Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5. Those two devices alone are enough to keep players' hands full for a while. But another portable device is having a moment of its own right now: the Playdate. Panic's yellow, crank-controlled handheld just got a major update last week. For $40, players can now sign up for Playdate Season 2. Doing so will get them 12 new games delivered over six weeks, as well as a bizarre bonus in Blippo+, a sort of subspace television app for the system. While I hadn't planned on signing up, my curiosity got the best of me this weekend; I paid the entry fee and got access to Season 2's first two games. I'm very glad I did, because I'm now reminded why the console is so special in the first place. If the Switch's high price tag has you bummed out, this may be the perfect moment to grab a Playdate instead. Recommended Videos Upon purchasing the new season, two new games showed up on my home screen: Fulcrum Defender and Dig Dig Dino. The first one is a major attraction considering that it's the latest project from Into the Breach developer Subset Games. That was a big reason I decided to dive into Season 2, as it showed me that Panic is still serious about courting top-tier indie developers to experiment with its console. Fulcrum Defender is relatively straight forward game compared to some of Season 1's more out-there releases. It's a minimalist wave defense game where I'm controlling a turret at the center of the screen. Shapes fly in from the sides and try to attack the turret, so it's my job to shoot them before they reach it. To do that, I need to use the system's crank to spin my gun around in a circle and fire away. It's this season's version of Hyper Meteor, arguably Season 1's best game. As a simple high score chase, Fulcrum Defender is a fun little time waster with just enough depth to make it interesting. In a good run, I'm able to equip three weapons. My top D-pad button fires single shots, while the bottom shoots them in rapid-fire mode. I can't just spam those buttons, as doing so will overheat my gun and take it offline for a few seconds. I eventually get more powerful weapons that map to the left and right D-pad buttons, though those weapons have a cooldown. That combat system is infused with a light roguelike hook, as I can choose from one of two upgrades every few minutes. It's not too complex and not as original as other Playdate games I've enjoyed, but it's the kind of game that I could see myself pulling out every now and then when I want to get a quick run in. I'm more enamored with Dig Dig Dino, which has quickly become one of my favorite games the platform has to offer. The idea here is that I'm an archeologist looking for dinosaur bones. I drop into a dig site, which is presented as a small grid that fits on the display. Every time I dig in a spot, I use a tick of energy. My goal is to dig as much as I can before I run out, finding as many bones as possible as well as cash. When a dig ends, I can then buy upgrades that allow me to dig further, drill rocks more efficiently, or ping treasure locations. It's almost like a 2D version of A Game About Digging a Hole, and it's every bit as engrossing as that game. I played through the entire thing, getting every dinosaur and hidden artifact, in one sitting. As I tore through both games on a lazy Sunday, I was reminded how much I loved the Playdate when I first got it. It's basically one big game jam, where developers get to toy around with short, creative ideas. I can especially see that in Blippo+, the most fascinating app the system has gotten yet. It's essentially an alternate version of cable TV that's running its own weird shows at all times. I've yet to spend too much time with it, but it's the kind of wild swing that makes the Playdate so special. It simply inspires developers to cut loose, even three years into its niche little life. So if you're on the fence about getting a Switch 2 right now, but still want to dig into a handheld device, now might be the perfect time to grab a Playdate. You'll get a great collection of games out the gate with Season 1's offerings and be able to add Season 2 on top of that. That's not even to mention the catalogue of purchasable games, which includes Lucas Pope's excellent Mars After Midnight. The Switch 2 may have Mario Kart World, but the Playdate might be more of a Nintendo console than Nintendo's own console.

The Nintendo Switch 2 launches this week — and it'll give a much-needed boost to Target and Best Buy

Whether it's Black Friday, a limited-edition Stanley Quencher, or something new from Taylor Swift, there's nothing like a blockbuster sales event to get retailers' juices flowing. And at a time when trade chaos and economic uncertainty have dimmed the financial results for companies like Target and Best Buy, Thursday's launch of Nintendo's new Switch 2 gaming device is a welcome shot of good news in the retail world. Both big box brands touted the device in recent earnings calls, with plans to tap into good-old-fashioned shopping enthusiasm, complete with midnight lines and commemorative merch. "There's a ton of excitement for this, and we plan to be the retail destination for all things Nintendo Switch," Target chief commercial officer Rick Gomez said during an investor call on April 21. Last week, Best Buy CEO Corie Barry said some 70% of preorder customers are opting to pick their devices up in-store on launch day. "Best Buy is uniquely positioned for the Switch 2 launch, being one of the only retailers opening their doors at midnight on June 5 for eager customers to pick up their consoles or grab another game," she said. The companies have good reason to pull out the stops for Nintendo's hotly anticipated handheld device: Piper Sandler estimates that Best Buy's comparable sales will enjoy a 1% lift for each of the next four quarters due to Switch 2 sales. Following a delay to asses the impact of President Donald Trump's tariffs, Nintendo resolved some shoppers' concerns when the company said it would not raise the price of the device itself. Some accessories will see price increases, though. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said in an earnings call that products destined for the US market are primarily manufactured in Vietnam, which would be subject to the 10% baseline tariffs under Trump's plan. The company said it now expects to sell 15 million Switch 2 devices this fiscal year. In Japan alone, the company saw a flood of 2.2 million applications in two weeks to preorder the game console. Most retailers tracked by Business Insider have already sold out of their available pre-orders. To manage demand, Target said it is implementing a ticketing system, whereby store employees will distribute physical or digital tickets to shoppers in line before stores open, and that there will be a one-console-per-customer limit. Best Buy said"nearly all" US stores will open at midnight on the East Coast, which means West Coast shoppers can get their hands on a Switch 2 minutes after 9 p.m. on Wednesday. The electronics retailer is even issuing a limited-edition coin to mark the occasion. The popularity of the original Switch offers retailers a lot to be optimistic about at a time when consumers have gotten increasingly guarded about their dollars and (as Best Buy's Barry pointed out) tech companies haven't really been bringing a lot of newness, in terms of hardware. "I think you're going to see a lot of innovations," Barry said of the gaming device category during last week's earnings call. "We continue to remain pretty excited about that space as well."
