
Bridgewater police investigating after floating dock, portable toilet damaged by fire
The Bridgewater Police Service and Bridgewater Fire Department responded to Shipyards Landing on south King Street around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police say, when they arrived, the southernmost section of the floating dock in the LaHave River at Shipyards Landing was on fire.
Crews extinguished the fire, but the dock was destroyed.
While at the scene, emergency responders noticed property owned by the Shipyard Shindig Music and Arts Festival, or its contractors, was also damaged.
Police say they then responded to a report of an overturned portable toilet that was lit on fire near Woodland Gardens and the DesBrisay Museum.
The Bridgewater Police Service is now asking for help from the public as they look for the person or persons who may be responsible for the damage.
Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call police at 902-543-2464.

Boy, 15, and girl, 12, drowned in northwestern Ontario river: provincial police

Ontario Provincial Police say the two youths were transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The victims' identities have not been released. Motorcyclist seriously hurt in crash at busy Kitchener intersection

(Dan Lauckner/CTV News) A motorcyclist has serious injuries following a collision Friday at a busy intersection in Kitchener. Waterloo Regional Police said the motorcycle was turning left onto Union Street when the rider was struck by a Jeep, travelling in the opposite direction, on Lancaster Street West. The 64-year-old man on the motorcycle was taken to a hospital outside Waterloo Region. His injuries were only described as serious. The driver of the Jeep, a 58-year-old man, was not hurt. Police initially closed the intersection, as well as the Highway 85 exit to Lancaster Street, for the investigation. Both have since reopened. Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash, or has dash cam video, to contact police at 519-570-9777, ext. 8856.
