
Motorcyclist seriously hurt in crash at busy Kitchener intersection
A motorcyclist has serious injuries following a collision Friday at a busy intersection in Kitchener.
Waterloo Regional Police said the motorcycle was turning left onto Union Street when the rider was struck by a Jeep, travelling in the opposite direction, on Lancaster Street West.
The 64-year-old man on the motorcycle was taken to a hospital outside Waterloo Region. His injuries were only described as serious.
The driver of the Jeep, a 58-year-old man, was not hurt.
Police initially closed the intersection, as well as the Highway 85 exit to Lancaster Street, for the investigation.
Both have since reopened.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash, or has dash cam video, to contact police at 519-570-9777, ext. 8856.

A man has died in hospital days after a motorcycle crash in the city's east end, Ottawa police say. Emergency services responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 174 westbound near Blair Road at around 2:30 p.m. on July 29, police said in a press release on Wednesday. Paramedics said the man driving the motorcycle was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. On Friday, police said he had died. Investigation underway into fatal collision involving pedestrian
An investigation is underway into a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Edmonton Friday afternoon. At around 3:30 p.m., a 60-year-old man was walking north on the curb parallel to the southbound lanes on 50 Street near 40 Avenue. A Toyota Tundra driven by a 39-year-old man driving south in the curb lane along 50 Street hit the pedestrian when, police were told, the man stepped into the southbound lane. EMS and EPS personnel tried lifesaving measures on scene and the injured man was transported to hospital where he died. The driver of the Tundra wasn't injured and remained on scene. Police believe neither excessive speed or alcohol are factors in the collision.

Man arrested after vehicle crashes through front door of RCMP office in Montreal
MONTREAL — A man is under arrest after a vehicle went through the front door of the RCMP headquarters Saturday morning in the Montreal suburb of Westmount, just west of downtown.
