Tecno Pova Curve hands-on review

GSM Arena20-06-2025
The Pova Curve is yet another value-oriented option from Tecno. It aims to bring a stylish design along with features like a 144Hz AMOLED display and the usual assortment of AI features to the masses.
The Tecno Pova Curve shares the basic design and software with the Infinix Zero 40 that we looked at last year. If this seems surprising then it shouldn't as both brands are owned by the same parent company, Transsion Holdings.
Having said that, this isn't just a straight copy-paste effort like we sometimes see from other brands with a shared parentage. The Pova Curve comes in at a lower price point than the Zero 40, so it makes several changes to the spec sheet, including to the chipset and the cameras but manages to gain a bigger battery while somehow being thinner and lighter.
At a starting price of INR 15,999, the Tecno Pova Curve is priced much more aggressively. Let's see if it manages to impress us like its older cousin. Unboxing
The Tecno Pova Curve comes in iridescent packaging which contains the phone, a charger, and a USB cable. Tecno also throws in a clear silicon case but it's not great and the curved sides of the display mean it does not offer great protection in that area.

Does six years of updates sound good to you? Well, here's what you need to know about the Galaxy А07 before you say "yes"

Samsung's got a huge phone lineup covering all bases. At the top, you've got the pricey flagship phones like the Galaxy S25 series. Then come the solid mid-range phones like the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy S24 FE. After that, you have the budget-friendly options – like the upcoming Galaxy A17 4G and 5G. And then there is the even more affordable Galaxy A0 series, which is about to get a refresh last model dropped in August of last year, and the new one, Galaxy A07, looks set to follow the same schedule. Right before it officially hits the shelves, a bunch of details have leaked, including specs and how the phone will look. Since this is one of Samsung's most affordable phones, don't expect much flashy stuff – it is a simple device designed to get the job done at around $100. The new Galaxy A07 4G (yes, no 5G at this price) reportedly isn't very different from the current model, according to the leak. But it does get one key upgrade: longer software support. Samsung Galaxy A07 4G full specs & renders- Helio G99- 6.7" PLS LCD, 1600x720, 90Hz- 50MP (f/1.8) + 2MP (f/2.4)- 8MP (f/2.0)- 5000mAh, 15W- Android 15, One UI 7 | 6 years update - Dual SIM, microSD slot, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 5, USB-C, 3.5mm jack, IP54 rated — Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414) August 11, 2025 Samsung plans to provide this super affordable phone with six years of updates – which is quite a lot. That means it could get Android 21 plus six years of security patches. That sounds great, but honestly, the phone itself probably won't last that long or keep running smoothly for all those years. Because after all, under the hood, it should have a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. It is nothing groundbreaking, but it promises better performance for light gaming. So, don't expect amazing graphics, but it will handle everyday tasks and casual games fine. The display is expected to stay the same as last year: a 6.7-inch PLS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. On the back, the camera setup looks unchanged too, with a dual-camera setup matching last year's specs: 50 MP primary camera 2 MP secondary camera 8 MP selfie camera Inside, there should be a big 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging support. The official promo shows the phone will come in three colors: Green Dark Gray Silver/White The upcoming affordable Galaxy A07 might debut in these three colors and with updated back camera looks. | Image credit – Sudhanshu Ambhore As you can see, the design will have a small update – the cameras will be inside a vertical camera bar, and the phone should be slimmer overall. Overall, the Galaxy A07 is a pretty basic phone, but it could be an option if you need a backup device or are working with a really tight budget. Being the lowest-spec model in the Galaxy A lineup, it comes with the lowest price too – and that price isn't expected to change this time around. It should launch any day now, but don't count on it showing up officially in the US through Samsung's own store. That said, history tells us these phones often pop up on places like Amazon and Walmart. Just keep in mind that most of the Galaxy A06 listings in the US are for International or Latin America versions. These unlocked models usually work on carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T, or Verizon, but it is super important to double-check the network bands to make sure they're compatible with your carrier before buying. And if you are open to other brands, definitely check out some better options out there. The Moto G (2025), for example, is often on discount and, for just a little extra cash, you can get a noticeably better phone. Moto G (2025) Hands-on Review: Low cost, but is that enough?

New iQOO Z10 Lite arrives with a different design and specs

iQOO unveiled the Dimensity 6300-powered iQOO Z10 Lite in June, which is currently available in India. Now, iQOO has introduced a new Z10 Lite with a different design and specs. For starters, the new iQOO Z10 Lite is powered by the Snapdragon 685 SoC, meaning no 5G support. The smartphone runs Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 out of the box and comes with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, but storage expansion is not possible due to the lack of a microSD card slot. vivo iQOO Z10 Lite 5G The new iQOO Z10 Lite's display is also different. It packs a 6.67" screen, while the previous model is built around a 6.74" display. However, it's worth mentioning that the Dimensity model came with a 90Hz HD+ LCD having 1,000 nits brightness, while the Snapdragon version comes with a 120Hz FullHD+ AMOLED panel having 1,200 nits typical brightness and 1,800 nits of peak brightness. iQOO Z10 Lite powered by Dimensity 6300 • New iQOO Z10 Lite powered by the Snapdragon 685 The battery capacity of the new iQOO Z10 Lite remains the same as the previous version, at 6,000 mAh, but it charges faster: 44W vs. 15W. Regarding photography, the new iQOO Z10 Lite features three cameras - an 8MP selfie camera on the front and a dual camera setup on the rear comprising 50MP primary (Sony IMX582) and 2MP depth units. The previous Z10 Lite sported a 5MP front-facing camera. The rest of the new iQOO Z10 Lite's highlights include an in-display fingerprint scanner, IP68 and IP69 ratings, underwater photography support, and wet-hand support for the screen. The smartphone also features stereo speakers. If the new iQOO Z10 Lite feels familiar, that's because it's a version of the vivo Y400 4G, which was introduced in Indonesia last month. vivo Y400 4G • New iQOO Z10 Lite The new Z10 Lite comes in Taiga and Glacier colors (machine translated from Russian) and has two memory options - 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. Samsung Galaxy A17 5G in for review

Ivan, 12 August 2025 The Samsung Galaxy A16 was hugely popular, and it's very likely that its successor will be as well. Judging by the Galaxy A17 5G's specs page interest in our database, we'd say it's a certainty. The Galaxy A17 5G is now up for sale, though you may have trouble finding one on store shelves just yet. It costs €230 at the time of this article. It ships with a USB-C cable and nothing else, just like Samsung's entire Galaxy lineup. There isn't a night and day difference between the A17 5G and the A16 5G. Upfront sits the same, on paper, a 6.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. However, the glass on top is Gorilla Glass Victus this year. The triple camera system also sounds the same, but the main camera has a stabilized lens. By the way, we have the Black model, which features a nice matte finish that reflects light interestingly. There's a white-accented edge on the camera island, too. Finally, you get a 5nm Exynos 1330 SoC, which, depending on the chip you had in your regional Galaxy A16 5G, may be an upgrade or the same - some Galaxy A16 5G had this very same SoC, while others had the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300. Stay tuned for our review coming sometime next week!
