Your favourite YouTubers could DISAPPEAR from the site over shock rule change that blocks some creators

YOUTUBE has announced a major rule change that will see some creator content banned on the platform.
A shake-up is coming into effect on July 22 - though some people say the new rules don't go far enough.

The news will come as a blow to young creators on YouTube.
In less than four weeks, the age limit for live streaming on YouTube is being increased.
Currently, you're allowed to live stream on your own if you're at least 13 years-old.
From July 22 onward, you'll need to be at least 16 years-old instead.

If the creator has an adult present in the video then all is fine.
YouTube owner Google has warned that any live streams featuring 13 to 15-year-olds who are not visibly accompanied by an adult "may have their live chat disabled" and the account "may temporarily lose access to live chat or other features".
"Please note that, in the future, we plan to take down these live streams and the account may temporarily lose its ability to live stream," the tech giant's website says.
It's not clear why Google has decided to adjust the age.

But users on social media believe the limit should be 18.
"Imo it should be at least 18 considering there are a lot of freaks on the internet," one person commented on Reddit.

"Good. It should be 18, kids shouldn't be streaming," another wrote.
A third added: "Good luck enforcing this without ID."

RESTRICTED Mode is an optional setting on YouTube that helps filter out mature videos.
It's not perfect, but it's a good way of scrubbing out a large portion of the adult material on YouTube.
However, you have to turn it off manually for each browser or device your child is using – it can't simply be applied at account level.
On your
computer
, go to the account icon – a little person icon in the top right corner of your screen.
Click Restricted Mode, then use the toggle button to turn it on.
On the
Android phone app or mobile site
, tap the menu icon, which looks like three vertical dots.
Then go to Settings > General and turn Restricted Mode on.
On
Android TV
, go to the Home screen then scroll down to the Apps row.
Select YouTube, then scroll down and select Settings.
Choose Restricted Mode or Safety Mode, then select Enabled.
On the
iOS app
(for iPhones or iPad), tap the account icon in the top right.
Tap Settings then Restricted Mode Filtering, then choose Strict: Restricted Mode On.
On the
iOS mobile site
, tap the menu icon, which looks like a three-dot column.
Tap Settings then tap Restricted Mode to turn it on or off.

Irish teen, 16, tipped to be next Dolores O'Riordan after viral busking video with TikTok star ‘changed life forever'

AN Irish teenager is being hailed as having a voice like Dolores O'Riordan after a video of her singing in Leicester Square went viral. Dubliner Mathilde Mullins, 16, has become an online sensation after she duetted with YouTube star Luke Silva on the streets of London last month. 4 Mathilde Mullins and YouTube star Luke Silva Credit: Social Media Collect 4 Their version of Coldplay song The Scientist has 2.5million views on TikTok Credit: Social Media Collect 4 She is tipped to be the next Dolores O'Riordan Credit: Getty - Contributor Their version of Coldplay song The Scientist has an astounding 2.5million views on TikTok. Italian performer Luke — who has 2.1million followers on TikTok and 1.88million subscribers on YouTube — invites people to sing with him in the English capital. Mathilde told The Irish Sun: 'I knew Luke has millions of people watching his videos on YouTube and TikTok but I never thought I would be in one. 'That was until I went on a trip to London with my mum a few weeks ago. 'I heard music coming from Leicester Square and realised it was Luke performing one of his famous videos. 'I really wanted to talk to Luke about us duetting together. But I was nervous about asking him as he is such a big inspiration. However, my mum then told Luke that I was a great singer.' Although the DJ and vocalist had finished for the day, he asked Mathilde for her Instagram account, @mathildemullinsmusic, and promised to be in touch. She said: 'The next day I got a message from Luke saying, 'Hey Mathilde, I'm in Leicester Square today and will be singing around 3pm, will you make it?' 'I was like 'oh my god', Luke Silva just replied and he wants me to sing with him!' 'I was so excited replying back to him, saying 'Yes, I'll be there'. Luke then sent me this list of songs and asked me to pick three.' DREAM COME TRUE That afternoon Mathilde found herself side by side with Luke introducing herself to onlookers in the famous square featuring London's biggest movie screens. She said: 'Hi I'm Mathilde Mullins, I'm 16 years old and from Dublin' — before the pair of them launched into the famous Coldplay song The Scientist. Before long a huge crowd had gathered to watch the pair, drawn in by their enchanting singing. Mathilde said: 'It was like a dream come true. 'I could feel all the love around me from people watching and so many people coming up after complimenting me. One of them told me they found all the emotion in my voice very, very touching.' However, the vocalist had no idea that more plaudits were to come her way when Luke posted the edited video of them singing together, first on his YouTube channel and then on his massive TikTok account. So far the Coldplay cover has attracted a staggering 2.5million views on TikTok, boosting Mathilde's own TikTok account from a few hundred followers to nearly 6,000. Luke was wowed by the range of Mathilde's voice as along with the Coldplay cover she performed two other songs, Stay by Rihanna and All I Want by Kodaline. And asked about the reaction since, Mathilde said: 'A lot of people are comparing my voice to Dolores O'Riordan. They asked me would I cover Zombie by The Cranberries, so I posted that and we've had 31,000 views on TikTok. 'I can't wait to see what the future holds. Busking in London has changed my life forever. 'After we performed that day in Leicester Square, I remember Luke said to me, 'Wow Mathilde what a voice and a great range you have. Keep going, I know you'll go far and you are only 16.'" He also said, 'Never give up, you've got talent and your journey has just begun.'" And she's found similar success to Irish sensation Allie Sherlock, who also went viral on social media. Allie's success even led to one of her videos being shared by pop sensation Justin Bieber. The then 14-year-old student amassed a hug following since she started her singing career, garnering over two million subscribers on YouTube and over one million followers on Instagram. And now, Allie is performing at some of Ireland's most popular music festivals, including Kaleidoscope. She joined headliners including Texas, The Coronas and Ocean Colour Scene. Ireland's largest family-friendly music event, took place across from July 4-6 at Russborough House in Wicklow. And after her big performance, she shared a video on social media, saying: "One of my biggest performance ever Kaleidoscope." 4 Allie Sherlock found fame when she went viral on social media Credit: Instagram

UK rapper's song slammed for blaming gardai and migrants for ‘trouble and violence'

'Like all genres of music rap can be used to benefit social conscience or it can be used to attack it, and we would see this as an attack' One of the scenes featured in the video One of the scenes shot at Johnnie Foxes in Dublin A song released by an infamous UK gangster turned rapper calling for Ireland's freedom from 'guards and migrants' has been slammed by an anti-racist group. Jordan McCann who wrote a hit song while on parole from prison has racked up millions of views on social media and says he is making six-figures from his new career. While previous songs have been about the danger and lure of the gangster lifestyle his latest offering suggests Ireland is troubled by violence due to migrants. Also featuring on the song 'Free Ireland' which this week already had nearly 500,000 views on YouTube, is Dublin singer Conor McLoughlin. One of the lines in the song reads: 'Free, free, free Ireland from all the trouble and the violence. Free, free, free Ireland from all guards and the migrants.' The video for the song that was posted on YouTube starts with a man in Dublin shouting at a line of gardai in riot gear: 'The batterings will continue until the plantation is complete.' The idea that people in European countries are being replaced and their countries 'planted' is an international far-right conspiracy theory. The introduction also features clip from the November riots in Dublin in the wake of a young child and others being stabbed in Parnell Square. Convicted crminal turned rapper Jordan McCann (black hat) in Dublin News in 90 Seconds - August 16th The video was filmed in several well-known tourist site in Dublin including Merchant's Arch, the GPO, O'Connell Street, the city quays as well as in Jobstown and at Johnnie Fox's pub in the Dublin Mountains. McCann also alludes to his Irish roots in the track and how his 'grandfather left on a boat for England' and 'Irish to the core, so it's Guinness that I'm drinking.' Other lyrics are less sympathetic to immigrants: 'Heroes got blasted and died for these bastards so open the floodgates, swear that is backwards.' Gardai are seen intervening as McCann filmed on O'Connell Street last month where a crowd gathered around him. The video also features Conor McLoughlin The music video finishes with a photograph of Michael Collins and a quote from the revolutionary leader on Irish nationality. Damian Farrell of Dublin Communities Against Racism (DCAR) said that while he was not aware of McCann's video specifically, he believes they are not representative of the majority of people. 'Generally speaking, rap artists like this have a media platform and inherit a space where the person who is the loudest is heard the most. 'They are able to broadcast and amplify what is after all just their opinion. 'So, a lot of the work we do is in dispelling the narrative that these videos are the only message out there. They're not. McCann and McLoughlin in the video 'It is the hidden voices that Dublin Communities Against Racism represent that we are trying to encourage. 'We work with a wide range of ethnic minorities in doing more to make those voices heard without putting themselves in physical danger. 'People like rap music', Mr Farrell added, 'and like all genres of music it can be used to benefit social conscience or it can be used to attack it, and we would see this as an attack. 'And the exploitation of fake sense of nationalism that is promoted through the anti-immigration campaign and elected representatives who should know better creates a society that is of no use to anyone. One of the scenes shot at Johnnie Foxes in Dublin 'The people who are involved in these kinds of videos are not being empowered, they are being used and exploited in a way that, ironically, is the same as they use immigrants to blame for all the ills in our society that we are endeavouring to combat.' The music clip also features Conor McLoughlin who last year won the approval of five judges during an episode of The Voice on ITV. He appeared at the blind auditions and won the attention from each of the celebrity judges with his rendition of Ed Sheeran's 'I See Fire'. Tom Jones, Leann Rimes, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones hit their button to turn their chairs around. He previously took part in BBC's Let It Shine in 2017. While in west Dublin Jordan McCann stopped to pose for pics with Lee McDonnell a notorious violent criminal. McDonnell has 133 previous convictions, including for robbery, aggravated burglary and escaping from lawful custody. He was part of a group of young west Dublin criminals who were causing havoc in their late teens and early 20s who had been mentored by older criminals with links to veteran gangster Derek 'Dee Dee' O'Driscoll. McDonnell previously hit the headlines going on the run for five weeks after escaping from a prison van in Inchicore after prison officers stopped at a chipper. Compared to O'Loughlin McCann's route to showbiz has been a lot tougher who has said interviews that he grew up in jail. In 2016 he was among 13 people subject to court orders sought by police in Manchester and Salford to stop a gang feud after a series of shootings. One of the scenes featured in the video He belonged to a well-known criminal family in Salford, Greater Manchester, and has been convicted of violent crime, armed robbery, gang affiliations and drug dealing. He was in prison when his breakthrough moment came as his Lifestyle track was released and proved to be a big success. In an interview with the Manchester Evening News in 2023 he said he realised he had to turn away from crime after being sentenced to six and a half years aged 19. 'I was just thinking, 'I'm not coming home now for years, I'm living around all these same people, I lived by this f***ing code, I've been the [most loyal] guy, I've been the realest guy' and it does get you nowhere. 'I just realised, 'bang' this life is the fakest life in the world'.' 'After growing up in prison and seeing so many scenarios and people I've looked up to and seeing some of the moves that they pull themselves, I realised it's inevitable in this life bad things are gonna come.' 'Nothing good's gonna come, when money gets involved, when girls get involved people are gonna f*** people over.'
