Gudmundsson told LUTV after an impressive debut: 'Wow! I really enjoyed that one, I can tell you that.
'We have to have this atmosphere. It was amazing. It was so good and we need them to push us.
'It does make a difference. Obviously, you're focused on the game, but you know, hearing the crowd shouting and singing is really nice.
'It adds a small percentage – to work and run and fight even more, so they need to keep doing that.
'In the Premier League we're going to suffer, but we have to suffer together.'
Gudmundsson said three points in their opener was crucial for Leeds, whose next two league fixtures are at Arsenal and against Newcastle before the first international break in September.
'It was the first game and was really important to start well,' the 26-year-old left-back added. 'We know what it means to get three points.
'We know that we have two upcoming games that are going to be really tough.'

Leeds are waiting to learn the full extent of Ethan Ampadu's injury after a clattering late second-half challenge by Tim Iroegbunam eventually saw their captain forced off.
Everton boss David Moyes was furious at referee Chris Kavanagh's penalty decision, upheld by VAR, after James Tarkowski was adjudged to have handled after leaning into Anton Stach's deflected shot.
But Everton carried little threat and although Moyes is 'desperate' to add quality in the final third, he said Toffees fans must not expect too much too soon of loan star Jack Grealish.
The England playmaker had no chance to shine after making his debut off the bench with 20 minutes left.
Moyes said: 'Jack's trained really well. I just want to bring him in at the right time rather than the expectations be too high, too quickly for him.
'I think he's very rarely played two games in a row. He's very rarely played three games in a row.
'So if you look into his history – we need to bring him on at the right times.
'The attacking play – we're desperate to get more quality in. Let's be fair, I've been saying for a while we have to find ways of getting that better.'

Wednesday's briefing: Alexander Isak goes public and Rangers suffer big setback
Isak's statement – swiftly responded to by the club – came in a social media post which explained his absence from the PFA awards ceremony in Manchester, where Mohamed Salah and Mariona Caldentey received accolades. On the pitch, Rangers' hopes of reaching the Champions League took a major hit. Isak made clear his determination to leave Newcastle this summer as he issued a statement on Instagram that concluded: 'When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can't continue.' But Newcastle quickly responded with a statement saying no commitment was ever made by a club official that the Sweden striker could leave this summer and that they 'have been clear that the conditions of a sale this summer have not transpired'. However, the club left the door open for Isak to 'be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates'. Liverpool star Mohamed Salah collected his record third PFA men's player of the year award, with Arsenal's Mariona Caldentey collecting the women's accolade at a ceremony in Manchester on Tuesday. The 33-year-old Egypt international scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists as Arne Slot's Reds stormed to last season's Premier League title. 'I look at myself now, a guy coming from Egypt and making it to the top level, making history today, it's something that makes me so proud,' Salah said. The women's award went to Caldentey, who joined Arsenal from Barcelona last summer and scored 19 goals in all competitions, helping the Gunners lift the Champions League. 'Everyone at the club has made it so easy for me and they helped me from the start and it just feels like home and I'm happy to be here,' she said. Rangers suffered a nightmare start to the first leg of their Champions League play-off against Club Brugge. Gers defender Nasser Djiga inexplicably allowed a long ball past him in the third minute and grateful visiting striker Romeo Vermant coolly lofted over stranded goalkeeper Jack Butland, before further strikes from Jorne Spileers and Brandon Mechele had the visitors 3-0 up after just 20 minutes. Brazilian striker Danilo pulled a goal back four minutes after the break but the Belgian side will have a two-goal cushion for next week's return leg. Gers boss Russell Martin insisted: 'The tie is still open and the players feel that.' England forward Michelle Agyemang has returned to Brighton for a second season-long loan spell from Arsenal, having scored five goals in 22 games for the club last term. The 19-year-old scored two vital equalisers in the knock-out rounds at Euro 2025 to propel the Lionesses into the Basel final, where they successfully defended their title in a penalty shootout victory over Spain. Agyemang was named young player of the tournament after her breakthrough campaign, and has been nominated for the women's Kopa trophy at this year's Ballon d'Or awards. Celtic are up against Kazakh side Kairat in the first leg of their Champions League qualifying play-off in Glasgow. Oliver Glasner will hold a preview press conference for a game Crystal Palace hoped they would not be playing – their Conference League play-off first leg against Fredrikstad – and will be sure to face questions on the future of Eberechi Eze. Bolton host Reading among a handful of EFL and National League matches.

Arsenal star Max Dowman ready to follow in footsteps of Wayne Rooney and Jude Bellingham
Max Dowman caught the eye during Arsenal's pre-season tour of Asia and is ready to make an impact for Mikel Arteta's side this season, despite still being at school It was an iconic piece of commentary to celebrate a superstar in the making. 'Remember the name: Wayne Rooney,' screamed TV legend Clive Tyldesley after the former Everton whizz kid scored a wonder goal on October 19, 2002, five days before his 17th birthday. We may soon have a new name on our lips. Arsenal teenager Max Dowman does not turn 16 until December 31 and is set to write his own name into the record books in this Premier League season. The Essex lad has been training with the first team for nearly two years, Declan Rice described him as 'the best 15-year-old in the country' and an Arsenal academy coach, Gustavo Oliveira, likened him to Brazil legend Kaka. Dowman starred in the club's pre-season tour of Asia, is still at school and has to get special permission to get time off to join training. He got time off from lessons to join the senior stars on the mid-season break in Dubai last February. Dowman played for England's under-17s in the Euros this summer and became the competition's youngest ever scorer. Despite playing THREE YEARS above his age group, he scored 19 goals and provided five assists in 23 games for the under-18s last season. Now Dowman is eligible, ready and will be part of the first team squad. He was in the travelling party for the season-opener at Manchester United on Sunday to give him experience, even though he was not named as one of the substitutes. There will be no holding him back. He is an attacking midfielder who scores goals, dribbles and runs with the ball as if he is gliding across the pitch. Even if he does not play every week, you can bet there will be a special moment or goal this season. If Rooney was the Premier League's original generational talent and Jude Bellingham was a teen global superstar, then Dowman has got the same mind-blowing potential. Arsenal legend Lee Dixon even admitted he would normally be reluctant to talk up a teenager - but says Dowman is an 'exceptional talent' even amid the club's other teen talents like Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Dixon told betting firm 10bet: 'Normally at this point when we talk about a kid like that, I kind of back off a little bit and I say just let him develop. Don't put any pressure on him. Often for young kids, you need to take stuff away from them rather than add more, but this kid is super special. 'That's not to say Nwaneri or Myles Lewis-Skelly aren't, but this kid has got something that you can't put your finger on. He blows you away when he does his stuff. I'm reluctant to build him up because he doesn't need building up. 'You just watch his show reel, watch him when he comes on. His ability on the ball, wow. We've been waiting for him for a long time, and Mikel said that every club in the world knows him. 'We've got an absolute gem on our hands and if you're good enough, you're old enough. He's already shown what he can do. Had he struggled a bit in pre-season, you'd back off, thinking it's a bit early. But he's shown that he is ready. He is an exceptional talent.' Arsenal now find themselves with almost an embarrassment of riches. From a position of struggling to get youngsters through, they now have arguably the best in the country. Teenagers Marli Salmon and Andre Harriman-Annous could be next. Lewis-Skelly became England's youngest player to score on their debut - aged 18 years and 176 days - last March. Nwaneri is the youngest player in Premier League history after making his debut aged 15 years and 181 days in 2022. Nwaneri is having to be patient in his progress. Borussia Dortmund pushed hard to sign him and were the most likely club - well ahead of Chelsea and others - to tempt him away. Instead, Nwaneri committed himself to a mega contract to stay at Arsenal. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will have to find a way to give him game time. But in Dowman's case, it may be more of a challenge just to hold him back. Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
