Chelsea-bound Kazakh wonderkid, 16, sends Celtic warning as shock 90th minute spot kick hints at gruelling Almaty trip

DASTAN SATPAEV is only 16 years old and is already regarded as the biggest footballing prospect to come out of Kazakhstan.
He's already agreed to join Chelsea next summer - and he's just shown Celtic exactly why by scoring a nerveless last minute penalty as Kairat Almaty ran out shock 1-0 first leg winners against Slovan Bratislava.

Celtic will take on the winners of this tie in the play-off round - with travel to Almaty a major obstacle to contend with.
It was all too much for the Slovaks to take with midfielder Rahim Ibrahim send off just after the hour mark, then the Slovakian outfit's manager Vladimir Weiss sent off for protesting in the dying stages.
The manager - son of Rangers star Vladimir, who also played in the match - was infuriated about the penalty award, given for a shirt tug in a crowded box by Danylo Ignatenko.
But things could even have been worse for the Bratislava - with more magic from Satpaev leading to a disallowed 'goal' in the 96th minute, eventually ruled out for a line ball offside after a lengthy VAR intervention.
More to follow.

Ex-Celtic star Ismaila Soro goes on trial with Premiership club as he sets up shock return to Scotland

FORMER Celtic star Ismaila Soro is reportedly training with Scottish Premiership new boys Falkirk. The ex-Hoops midfielder, signed by Neil Lennon in 2020, has been released by Israeli club Beitar Jerusalem this summer and is looking for a new club. 3 Soro in action for the Hoops Credit: Kenneth Ramsay 3 It didn't quite work out for Soro at Celtic Credit: Kenneth Ramsay 3 Falkirk boss John McGlynn has reportedly offered Soro a trial Credit: Kenny Ramsay Soro scored one goal in 43 appearances for Celtic during his three years at the club and failed to make an impact at Parkhead. He was then shipped out to Portuguese side Arouca on loan before a permanent switch to Beitar Jerusalem followed in the summer of 2023. The Bairns are looking to strengthen their midfield, with just one new addition in that area this summer in the form of Leicester City youngster Henry Cartwright on a season-long loan. They've also brought in former Hoops goalkeeper Scott Bain, Lewis Neilson on loan from Hearts and veteran striker Brian Graham from Partick Thistle. McGlynn has previously said he is looking to bring in two or three more players before the end of the window, but needs to wait to see what bigger clubs do down south before Falkirk can make their move. But the Daily Record is reporting that the Bairns' boss is offering the 27-year-old Soro a trial to see if he can win a deal at the Falkirk Stadium. Falkirk are in the top flight for the first time in 15 years after back to back title wins in League One and the Scottish Championship. They enjoyed an highly impressive unbeaten season in League One, before securing the Championship title on the last day of last season against Hamilton Accies. This season they topped their Premier Sports Cup group before beginning their league campaign with a 2-2 draw at home to Dundee United. They then fell to a 3-1 defeat away to fellow new boys Livingston last weekend. Falkirk fans invade the pitch as promotion to the Premiership is confirmed Falkirk next go to Celtic in the last 16 of the Premier Sports Cup on Friday, before welcoming Hibs to the Falkirk Stadium the following Saturday. After that it's a trip to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen before the international break. Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

A round-up of the latest Scottish football transfer rumours, stories and gossip, including the latest news from Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen and Dundee United. Luca Stephenson is set to re-join Dundee United this month. | SNS Group Liverpool 'decide move' for youngster Liverpool are ready to allow Luca Stephenson to re-join Dundee United this summer, after he was left out of the squad for Sunday's Community Shield shootout defeat to Crystal Palace. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Tannadice, playing 31 times in the Scottish Premiership as Jim Goodwin's side qualified for a spot in the Conference League qualifiers with a fourth-placed finish. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Stephenson, who won the club's Young Player of the Season award last year, is now closing in on a return to Tannadice, with The Athletic's James Pearce claiming Arne Slot has sanctioned another season-long loan move for the Sunderland-born midfielder. However, there is understood to be no option to make the deal permanent for the youngster, with the Anfield giants set to agree a new long-term contract with Stephenson, who entered the final year of his current deal last month. Swansea City, Reading and Rotherham United are all said to have explored a loan deal for the player, while Aberdeen had been linked with a permanent bid, but it is Dundee United who look to have won the battle for his signature. Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin is closing in on the signing of Kenan Bilalovic this summer. | SNS Group Aberdeen 'agree deal' Aberdeen head coach Jimmy Thelin is closing in on the signing of Swedish winger Kenan Bilalovic after the club agreed a fee of £500,000 with Varnamo for the youngster. According to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph, the 20-year-old is due to arrive in Scotland in the coming days to undergo a medical and complete the paperwork that will see him agree a permanent move to Pittodrie. Bilalovic has represented Sweden at both the under-18 level, where he debuted in a 1-0 win against Wales back in 2023, before progressing to the under-19 squad more recently after breaking into the Varnamo first-team, playing in 17 league games and scoring one goal. He also spent time on loan at Skövde AIK in the Swedish second-tier in 2024, playing eight times. Michel Ange-Balikwisha remains a target for Celtic. | Belga/AFP via Getty Images Celtic winger update Long-term Celtic target Michel Ange-Balikwisha has 'made it clear' he will not be extending his new deal with Royal Antwerp, which expires next summer, reigniting hope that the Scottish champions will be able to bring him to Glasgow before the transfer window slams shut on September 1. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad However, Belgian outlet HLN claim that while Brendan Rodgers' side have shown the strongest interest in the Belgian winger, they have yet to make an offer that is deemed acceptable. It is reported that Antwerp want to get back as much of the £4.7million transfer fee they shelled out on Ange-Balikwisha when he arrived from Standard Liege back in 2021. However, with the player's contract expiring next summer, the Belgian Pro League side is running the risk of losing him on a free transfer. Elsewhere, ex-Celtic title winner Dedryck Boyata has announced his retirement after a 16-year professional career. The former Belgian international won four Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups during his four-season stay at the Hoops. Gio Reyna has been encouraged join Rangers this summer. | Getty Images 32-cap star given Rangers encouragement Borussia Dortmund star Gio Reyna has been encouraged to follow in his father Claudio's footsteps by making a sensational move to Rangers this summer. The 32-cap American exploded onto the scene under former head coach Edin Terzić during the 2022/23 campaign, but has found game time hard to come by at the Signal Iduna in the last two campaigns, and looks to have dropped down the pecking order at the Bundesliga giants. However, former USA international Freddy Adu believes that a summer switch to Ibrox could reignite the attacking midfielder's career, saying: 'You don't get better by sitting on the bench. I mean, you can train all you want, but your game gets to that next level by getting a lot of game time. That just goes for everybody. So if he gets a chance to go to a team like Rangers, I think it'll benefit him tremendously. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad

Celtic working on eight deals as Brendan Rodgers set to finally get his wish

The Parkhead boss is pushing for more additions with the deadline fast approaching Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers hasn't been shy in demanding the club add more firepower this summer. ‌ And the door has been thrown open to Louis Munteanu in the hunt for a striker to rival Adam Idah. ‌ Matt O'Riley, Kyogo Furuhashi and Nicolas Kuhn all departing the Scottish champions in the last three windows - with Rodgers insisting adding more goals was his priority before the window closes. ‌ The first leg of the Champions League qualifier is fast approaching - with the Scottish champions set to face either Kairat or Slovan Bratislava on August 20. And Romania international Munteanu has been thrown into a bizarre situation by Cluj amid claims that a £10.5million bid from Stade Rennes had been accepted - while a Celtic bid had been knocked back. But weeks later he remains at Cluj - after owner Nelutu Varga insists he has now turned down a series of offers for the frontman. ‌ He told Pro Sport: I refused four clear offers. I don't want to talk about transfer fees anymore. I know how much he's worth and I'm not in a hurry to give him away. No matter how many offers he has, the right offer will surely come." Celtic may also have to meet a massive salary to bring in the striker - with the Romanian outlet claiming that Munteanu's agent is pushing for a £1.7million-per-year salary. ‌ After the departure of Kuhn, a winger is also high up on the shopping list with Go Ahead Eagles forward Jakob Breum on the agenda despite chief Jan Willem van Dop's brutal swipe at the Hoops. Michel-Ange Balikwisha remains an option with Belgian outlet HLN reportinh that while the Hoops retain the most concrete interest in the wide man, they haven't been table to come to an agreement with Antwerp. The Eredivise side are aiming to recoup the £4.7million forked out to sign Balikswisha from league rivals Liege back in 2021 - despite the forward entering the final year of his deal. ‌ Brondby's highly-rated winger Clement Bischoff has been touted as a target for Celtic and Sunderland this summer - and has been pitched a move to Celtic Park over the Premier League promise land. Former Rangers defender Richard Foster conceded: "For me, you are going to Celtic, with the opportunity to go and play in the Champions League. ‌ 'Or, you are going to Sunderland, where, let's be honest, they are likely going to be cannon fodder for the rest of the league. 'In my mind, there isn't even a question there. Even if Sunderland are offering twice the money, I think the winger should go to Celtic, if that's his choice.' Celtic have been linked with a shock move for West Ham playmaker Andy Irving - with a £3.5million price tag placed on the Scot. ‌ However, the Scottish champions face a battle for the midfielder with The Scotsman reporting they are joined by Rangers and interested suitors in Serie A and the Bundesliga in the race for the 22-year-old. Marco Tilio 's move to Rapid Vienna is on hold - despite failing to make a competitive appearance so far this season. But sporting director Markus Katzer has refused to give up hope, telling Kurier: "Tilio could give us as much as Dahl, even if he plays differently. He is the perfect fit. It would be a good and fair deal for both." Stephen Welsh is also expected to leave Glasgow's east end following the arrival of Jahmai Simpson-Pusey on loan from Manchester CIty. The Hoops academy graduate has fallen out of favour under Rodgers and recently spent time on loan with Belgian side Mechelen with reports suggesting Welsh is exploring his options.
