"Whole world is watching": BJP's Shahnawaz Hussain praises Indian Army's might

India Gazette09-05-2025

New Delhi [India], May 9 (ANI): BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain has expressed pride in the Indian Army's capabilities, particularly in the context of India-Pakistan tensions.
Hussain's comments highlight the Indian Army's efforts to counter Pakistan's nefarious activities, following air strikes conducted by the Armed forces on terror infrastructures in Pakistan and then thwarting drone strikes.
BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain expressed his pride for the Army and said that as terrorists were being killed in Pakistan, their masters had started trembling.
Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said, 'We are proud of our Army. The whole world is watching the might of our army and how we have attacked the nefarious activities of Pakistan. The whole country is united irrespective of their religion and caste. India has attacked them by entering their land and will continue to do so. Terrorists are being killed, and their masters are also trembling.'
He noted that the world is watching the Indian Army's actions and its ability to counter Pakistan's nefarious activities. Hussain emphasised that India has taken decisive action against terrorists, including entering Pakistan's territory, and will continue to do so.
He further said that curbs have been imposed on platforms supporting Pakistan on social media, YouTube and OTT.
'Some people, even after staying in India, are creating hashtags such as Say No To War. Such people are staying in this country and posting against it. When the country has been attacked, a response would be given,' he further added.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday conducted a review of the country's current security situation at South Block, which houses the Ministry of Defence, in the national capital, in the aftermath of the foiled large-scale drone strike by Pakistan on Thursday.
The military top brass and senior officials, including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, and Defence Secretary RK Singh accompanied the Defence Minister.
The meeting came in the wake of Pakistan's attempted retaliation following Operation Sindoor, where the Indian Armed Forces targeted nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday. The operation was a direct response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army during the intervening night of May 8 and May 9 successfully repelled and responded to multiple drone attacks by Pakistan along the western border and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Indian Army said, 'Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along the entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak troops also resorted to numerous ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The drone attacks were effectively repulsed, and a befitting reply was given to the CFVs. Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. All nefarious designs will be responded to with force.'
The indigenously developed Akash surface-to-air missile air defence system has played a crucial role in thwarting Pakistani drone attacks targeting Indian assets on Thursday, according to defence officials. Officials added that both the Indian Army and Air Force have deployed the missile system along the Pakistan border.
'The Indian armed forces have effectively used the Made in India Akash surface-to-air missile air defence system in foiling Pakistani attacks towards Indian targets. Both the Indian Army and Air Force have the missile system along the Pakistan border,' defence officials stated. (ANI)

Talking to whole world about Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor, but why no talk in Parliament?

In a strongly worded message posted on social media platform X, Lok Sabha member from Raichur G. Kumar Naik has criticised the ongoing silence of the Indian Parliament on the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and the subsequent military response, Operation Sindoor. He called for immediate convening of Parliament to discuss the matter and stressed that national security deserves a debate within the highest democratic institution — not just statements from global stages. 'For the past week, the nation has watched Union Ministers, political leaders, officials and even international dignitaries make public statements about the attack and India's response. And yet, Parliament remains shut,' Mr. Naik stated, pointing out the contrast between international commentary and domestic inaction. He expressed concern that while some political leaders are 'touring the world', others are using the tragedy for electoral gain. Even senior military figures have addressed the issue on foreign platforms, bypassing domestic democratic forums, he said. 'Parliament is not merely a building of bricks and stones. It is the sanctum of our democracy. It is where we, as elected representatives of 1.4 billion Indians, must convene to deliberate, debate and demonstrate our collective resolve in the face of adversity. Today, that House of the people remains shut. When the nation seeks clarity, reassurance and unity of purpose, Parliament must not be found wanting. This is not just about a military operation, it is about national security, accountability and a shared commitment to protecting the sovereignty of our republic,' he said, asserting that parliamentarians owe it to the people of India to speak, to question, and to listen — within the walls of India highest democratic institution. 'Parliament must open. The people deserve answers not soundbites from foreign shores,' Mr. Naik concluded.

"Diversity of our discourse is strength, not weakness": Manish Tewari defends Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi [India], June 11 (ANI): Congress MP Manish Tewari has come in defence of Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over the latter's 'Narendra Surrender' jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the diversity of India's domestic discourse is 'strength, not weakness'. He said that the contesting opinions and narratives set India apart from Pakistan and other totalitarian states. He argued that people in a democracy have the right to articulate their opinions, given the freedom of speech and expression. 'The strength of our democracy is its diversity, and the contesting opinions and narratives distinguish India not only from Pakistan but from a large number of other totalitarian states. The diversity of our domestic discourse is actually a strength, not a weakness. The fact remains that in any democracy, everybody has the freedom of speech and expression, and people have the right to articulate their opinions,' Tewari told ANI. Speaking about the mission that multi-party delegations were tasked with, the Congress MP said that the delegations were able to put Pakistan in the dock of international public opinion. 'The objective of this mission was clearly to put Pakistan in the dock of international public opinion, and to that extent, the various delegations that fanned out across the world have been able to plant that seed,' Tewari asserted. Talking about his delegation's meeting with the Prime Minister, the Congress MP emphasised that it was an informal and freewheeling conversation. 'It was an informal interaction, and the members of various delegations shared their impressions with the Prime Minister, who heard everybody out. He conveyed his own impressions. On the whole, it was an informal and freewheeling conversation. Most importantly, everybody was able to share the inputs they had collected across various nations. It was a holistic and comprehensive conversation,' Tewari said. Furthermore, Manish Tewari asserted that this initiative (sending delegations abroad) would help proscribe all states that use terrorism as an instrument of state policy. 'Certain seeds have been planted by various delegations across the world. Now, it is for the foreign office to build on this initiative and to take it to the next level to proscribe Pakistan, which is a state sponsor of terror on the global stage. On the whole, the visits laid the foundation for forming an international coalition against state sponsorship of terror. This is an initiative, if taken to a logical conclusion, would definitely help in proscribing all those states which use terrorism as an instrument of state policy,' the Congress MP said. Tewari was part of a multi-party delegation led by Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) or NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule. The delegation visited Egypt, Qatar, Ethiopia, and South Africa as part of India's Operation Sindoor global outreach. Apart from Sule and Tewari, the delegation had members including Rajiv Pratap Rudy (BJP), Vikramjit Singh Sahney (AAP, Anurag Singh Thakur (BJP), Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (TDP), Anand Sharma (Congress), V Muraleedharan (BJP), and former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin. AAP opposes proposed fee regulation bill, calls it 'anti-parent'

New Delhi [India], June 11 (ANI): In a scathing attack on the BJP-led Delhi Government, senior Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, condemned the concealment and unilateral introduction of the proposed fee regulation bill, the party said in an official statement. She pointed out that the BJP government deliberately bypasses democratic processes by planning to introduce the Bill through an ordinance, without any public consultation, stakeholder engagement, or legislative scrutiny, as per the release. 'This Fee Regulation Bill has been kept hidden by the BJP. No parent, lawyer, MLA, or Delhi resident has seen this bill. Why is it being concealed? If this bill is in the interest of parents, then why hasn't it been shown to them? Why hasn't it been uploaded to the website? Why hasn't public feedback been invited?' questioned Atishi. The AAP Legislative Group has formally demanded that the BJP government convene a Special Session of the Delhi Assembly to introduce the Fee Regulation Bill. Atishi stressed that the Bill must be referred to a Select Committee consisting of members from both AAP and BJP, and that comprehensive public consultations must be held before it is passed, it added. 'There was talk of a Fee Regulation law, but no one has seen the draft till date. Parents spoke in one voice: the fee law must not be brought in through an ordinance. The draft bill should be made public, their opinions must be heard, and only then should the bill be passed,' she said. Calling out the BJP's opaque tactics, Atishi remarked, 'This may be the first time in Delhi's history that such a significant law or policy is being brought without any public feedback. Hiding the draft of a law like this only shows one thing: something is seriously sketchy with it. This bill isn't meant to reduce school fees or to regulate private schools. It's being brought in to protect private schools.' As per their release, with Education Minister Ashish Sood confirming that the Bill will not be tabled in the Assembly, Atishi said, 'The BJP Government is going to any lengths to shield Delhi's private schools--now sneaking in the Fee Regulation Bill through an ordinance, bypassing the Assembly. This move is anti-parent and pro-private school.' Earlier in May, the Delhi Cabinet approved the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025, bringing relief to thousands of students and parents across the capital. Addressing growing concerns over frequent and unregulated fee increases by private schools, the Delhi Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta cleared the bill, which is expected to apply to 1,677 private schools in the city. CM Gupta stated that the government has swiftly acted in response to the widespread panic among students and parents regarding the hikes in school fees. (ANI)
